Hey loser. Was this supposed to be "advice" ? I didnt hear any. I know about this guy who got drunk, blah blah. You wont make it in the Navy or any other branch you are like most emo teens today you want everything on a damned silver platter.
Funny thing-- I scored High in Basic and was qualified for BT "A" school-- Was sent for 7 months to learn a Steam trade then as soon as I was sent into the fleet, was placed to distill sea water into sea water.... Sooo- flash forward 25+ years-- am the senior tech at a VA hospitals Power Plant !!
im in the navy, and let me say this, you can get "screwed over" in any organization. the difference is that here in the navy you have unique opportunities. If you feel you have been screwed over in civilian life, if youve lived in your hometown your entire life and you want a real life experience, then you have to give something of yourself to get something back. the navy makes the process of "getting something" as i put it, much easier. You can see the world and live it if you just listen up.
I know a couple guys who got "screwed" the most recent got drunk while on leave and side swiped a couple of cars. He was out of the Navy a few weeks later.

It may have taken me most of my enlistment to finally figure out I'm in a much better postition in life than I was 4 or 6 years ago. Joining the Navy was probably the wisest decision I made. I joined at a much later age, but I have resources now, that I didn't have before I joined.
you find in life if you have an ambition if usually turns out to be a dissapointment and not what you thought it wold be before you achieved it. I think it is the actual thinking about doing something is sometimes more exciting than when you actually finally achieve it. It's wierd.
I joined mainly to travel, and to be stationed near my family. My recruiter told me I can choose where I'll be stationed and on deployments I get to stop at ports. What I didn't know is that recruiters don't know shit else besides their own rate. If you are thinking about joining DEMAND to talk to someone who CURRENTLY works in your prospective rate. I don't get to choose where I will be stationed and my rate will most likely never be deployed. The navy doesn't screw people, recruiters do.
@jesse07ful very good point about the recruiters screwing you. i agree with that 100% had a recruiter once tell me that i would never be able to join because of a medical issue. i am now an ND2. shows how much those retard recruiters know....

@hottxlatina Ill be happy either way travel is cool but staying in place can be nice also Thanks for the info it would be nice to finish schooling that fast
@jrockno5 USN currently screws people over, just by being in it.
Standards of training & readiness have all but collapsed. Pay, incentives & allowances are an insult. Demobilization benefits have all but been eliminated.
Just recently a //small// education benefit was added, but since America has deindustrialized it only amounts to a subsidy welfare payment in support of government run university programs, not a benefit to the GI.
The Navy does not "screw" people over, people usually screw themselves. The Navy was one of the best decisions I ever made. I lived in a foreign country for 2 years and visited 10 countries while at sea (med cruise). The Navy is what you make it.
The Navy doesn't screw you over. The people in the Navy can. Best choice I ever made, joining the Navy. Second best choice I ever made, GETTING OUT after one term.
You can't really speak about this subject because obviously you have no idea what you're talking about.
@SANDYSQUID1 ...Did you actually watch the video? He made to video to address people who say they were screwed over but he says it was their own fault meaning he agrees with what you've said...but you insulted him anyway. At least read the description if you're not going to watch the video.
Did you actually read my comment? I was saying, of course, the Navy can't screw you over because it's not capable of thought and action on it's own as it's an organization. Saying that there's some invisible beasts out there called the Navy that swoops down and ruins people's lives is ridiculous.HOWEVER, individuals can and will be screwed over by other individuals within any organization. The Navy is no different from any other company. Questionable ethics, politics, dishonesty, etc.
He is a PUSS, you will get out of the NAVY what you put into it, Have heard this whiney excuse so many times, he needs to get a grip and deal with it.
I joined the Navy to be a Master At Arms... 10 months later... look where I am now!!! I'm a Master At Arms!!!! No surprise.
The Navy is what you make of it. With this degrading video, obviously this guy has some issues with something. Hoping to be a SEAL but can't go through BUDS training? Of course they will toss you to be undesignated! That's why it's a good idea to Cross-rate instead of straight in.
Stationed now in Guam! Tropical Bliss to say the least
@Delten25 what do you mean by cross-rate instead of straight in? haha i myself have been training to become a seal with some help from a friend thats a former army ranger
@Delten25 some people chose undesignated incase you didnt know. that way during bootcamp they can have a better decision on what they want to do.My dad went in undesignated and he got put up on the flight deck of a carrier directing jets and trying not to get sucked in to an engine. Sure it doesnt seem all that special but he said he had fun. Of course he wasnt always undesignated but he claimed that he found a thumb on the flight deck after a jet engine exploded. Sounds interesting ;D
I agrr with ya man. i mean i feel i was screwed over, but this was all still at rtc lol. i apparently had a hernia the navy paid for surgery to fix it and after i was fully recovered they seperated me. so i feel they fucked me over a little bit, however most other people do just as u said. fuck themselves
I got screwed big time. I was promised an $85,000 scholarship and it was presented to me by my recruiter and principle at my HS graduation. Found out about 8 or 9 months in that it was a fake and it was only to get me to join. After looking at the scholarship I found small things on it that made it obvious that it was a fake. For example the Navy emblem had minor differences from the actual Navy emblem.
idk man....i moved my wife to san diego after not seein her for 3 months then a month later with a weeks notice sent me to virginia for 76 school for 3 months. i basically spent a deployment away from my wife while still in the yards
I'm an ex-AT2 (I level). I agree with you. I've seen a lot of people mess up over stupid things and screw themselves (for not studying/staying in shape, drinking, stealing, etc).
But it's the VA that screws people over when they get out, people trying to use their GI Bill. They take forever to process paperwork submitted ahead of time. I know someone who had to quit college because the VA didn't complete the paperwork to pay the college after 3 months of waiting. The college had to let him go.
@MrNutty365 I bet the pakistanis respect the Navy a little more these days, fuckin' camel jockeys. I'm seriously considering joining the military, and the Navy will be my branch of choice if I do.
@lcmorgan1221 Everybody is happy that we kill that SOB. With that said if you plan on joining the Navy you better come correct. I'm a E-5 in the Navy and some of the best people I have served with are what you call camel jockeys. Actually a Pakistani-American Sailor saved my life on deployment, he was able to push me out of the way of a snapped mooring line. No matter what the race is in the Navy we are all sailors, and trust if hear this talk on my watch it's never pretty!! Hooyah Navy!!
@JBlaze688 PS2 here and I second this comment. When you're in the Navy, you are a Sailor first and it doesn't matter what "color" you are, we are in this sh*t together.

Just make sure you study for your ASVAB before you take the test. There are a ton of ASVAB books at your nearby public library which will help you prepare for the test. I recommend giving yourself time to review your math & English, after all higher score=better career. There are also parts of the ASVAB which regard "workshop" knowledge, electronic information, basic mechanics, assembly, & general science - these are secondary.
The most comprehensive book out there is Barron's ASVAB 8th Edition
This US Goverment don't need a bunch of drunkin idiots serving this country. Take it serious man. Be an adult! Honor, Courage, Committment.......Live with it! Show those Army boys you're worth wearing that uniform
@lilskates3 That's a load of shit. I got yelled at waking up just like that. Granted we didn't run "15 miles" (Which is an over exagerated statement anyway) but Navy bootcamp wasn't all easy day every day "Oh please do this please do that" It wasmore like "Do it NOW! Or I'm going to beat you into a whole new world you worthless shitbag!"
Typical, everyone watches those bootcamp vids, marine vids made up exagerated, navy vids toned down for "good image" no1 would join if they really knew...
TheMaverickHD They are getting really really picky about recruits. My son put on his app Yes to a question of "Have you ever used an asthma inhaler." which his dad gave him once when he was sick. My son had to go to an asthma specialist to prove he did not have asthma. The asthma specialist told us he had a guy put on his app he had a peanut allergy when he was a kid but no longer had it. Even with the written paper from the Dr the Navy wouldn't take him. I am not saying to lie but...
Jrock...what's good? I ship out march 16, 2011. I'm going in as an undesignated (I know) E-3. I really wanted the earliest ship date so I bit on it. Anyway, is there much u can tell me bout going undesignated? I was told being that I'm an E-3...I'd be able to "strike a rate" in Sept. I was also told that after bootcamp (and the additional 3 weeks at great lakes) I would go str8 to the ship. Bro and/or anyone else up on game...pls enlighten me on what the topic.
Good GOD People! Some of you did not get this video at all. When I said how the Navy "Screws" you over... NOTICE THE QUOTATIONS...I mean how people GET THEMSELVES in a shitty situation and blame it on the Navy. I am in NO WAY saying the NAVY just straight up screws you over. SEN369 gets it.
@jrockno5 i got a question im thinking about joining the military im not sure what branch yet but. what i wanna know is what are the important parts of the asvab? cuz i ive been told is the math, word knowledge an paragraph comprehensive what do u think i should focus on?
@jrockno5 I want to be an air rescue swimmer.I got a 93 on the ASVAB. If by chance i don't make it through training could i still potentially get a good job based on my ASVAB score?
@VagineND the asvab score is never really used.... it's your GT score which is related to your ability to learn things. Typically a GT score of 110 or higher can get you into just about any job out there. GT score is part of the asvab
This kid know what he's talking about,.and I use the term kid respectfully. I was in the Navy in the 70's and it was exactly the same then, people screwing up, getting in trouble, mostly due to alcohol, and then claiming the Navy "screwed them over".
If I see another fucking comment saying he is a dipshit/pussy/shithead/anything else that is idiotic, I will go postal on your asses. He fucking put it in quotations and said it for you morons: he thinks that people are dumb when they say the navy screwed them over when it was really their own damn fault. Start listening all you shitbrains that said he is wrong
@maximus112292 that was true when I was in boot camp in 1999. :) the stalls on submarines, however, do have doors on them. :) (I was a submariner.) The reason for no doors is probably two reasons: (1) make sure the recruits are not doing anything they shouldn't be and (2) make sure they are used to less privacy on ships and especially submarines.
@CraftLulz Most don't choose that rate. It's chosen for them. If they fall under the Administration and Support Faculty when they somewhat choose what they want, then while at boot camp the Navy decides what they need more and they'll give them that job before the job they want. It happened with me, I wanted to be a Yeoman. Most of these rates are over manned now, so it's harder to get those jobs than it was originally. And honestly, there are by far, worst rates out there.
It is definitely true. At A school, alot of the AZ's were getting in trouble for being drunk. They got in trouble, and if it persisted they were removed from the rate. Your videos are doing a fantastic job of covering certain aspects of Navy life that most don't realize. Thank you for uploading them and giving people something to look at to either make themselves better in the Navy, or for those who are just coming in and don't realize what could happen.
your are a fucking re tard, talking about somthing u have no idea about, y wouldnt they have high physical and mental test u fucking ass? they are navy seals dumb ass, they need to be heathy. how about next time u know what the fuck your talking about, before u open that cum receptical u call a mouth think about all the nd,so,eod, and other rates that have given there lifes for u fucker, i would love to meet u so i could shiove your balls up your ass so that when u shit u shit on your balls!
@navydiver121 He mentioned that they would have tests for them to take. Yes it's true that they need to be healthy. He's talking about how some people VIEW it as the Navy "screwed" them over. Next time pay attention before you start mouthing off. That's the number one thing they taught us at bootcamp. Attention to details. So do that, and stop threating people on youtube. Show some freaking maturity, if you went to bootcamp and are in the Navy, you're doing a horrible job of showing it.
If you got screwed over, it is because you let yourself get screwed over. I spent twenty yeaars in the Navy and heard your story a thousand times, usually from the biggest losers and crying little bitches, you seem to fit that bill...do us all a favor, don't have any kids, the world does not need any more faggots running around in it. Try being a man instead of blaming the Navy for being a loser...
I am ex navy, you are the biggest pussy I have ever had the displeasure of seeing !
if you were half the man your mother was, you wouldnt be CRYING LIKE A LITTLE BABY !...grow up and please do not reproduce and infect the gene pool with your cowardous sissy behavior !
buyer beware. Your grown up, and you made a conscious decision, well every shitbag i've met that claimed the Navy screwed them over..they weren't doing shit to begin with, and were not afterward, and that's because they have a I don't give a shit mentality. or all for themselves.
Know what you are getting into before you sign up. I had a great time while serving my country. The military is for mature people, remember YOU decided to join on your free will.
Nice video man. It's amazing how much people wine and complain during their first couple of years in the Navy. When they screw up it's the Navy's fault. Doesn't anyone remember that they joined the Navy, the Navy did not join them? Your enlistment is what you make it. Study hard for your advancement exam, earn a warfare pin or two, get all of your quals done, then you'll notice you have nothing to wine about any more.
There are quite a few inaccurate statements in here. You are an idiot.

The Navy is what you make it.

i really don't understand how people can comment on a video that they didn't even watch OR at least read the description.
mkbakeruncg 6 months ago
The Navy doesn't screw you over. The people in the Navy can. Best choice I ever made, joining the Navy. Second best choice I ever made, GETTING OUT after one term.
You can't really speak about this subject because obviously you have no idea what you're talking about.
SANDYSQUID1 6 months ago
@SANDYSQUID1 ...Did you actually watch the video? He made to video to address people who say they were screwed over but he says it was their own fault meaning he agrees with what you've said...but you insulted him anyway. At least read the description if you're not going to watch the video.
lysjocksan 5 months ago
@lysjocksan

Delten25 7 months ago
@Delten25 what do you mean by cross-rate instead of straight in? haha i myself have been training to become a seal with some help from a friend thats a former army ranger
310extreme 7 months ago
@Delten25 some people chose undesignated incase you didnt know. that way during bootcamp they can have a better decision on what they want to do.My dad went in undesignated and he got put up on the flight deck of a carrier directing jets and trying not to get sucked in to an engine. Sure it doesnt seem all that special but he said he had fun. Of course he wasnt always undesignated but he claimed that he found a thumb on the flight deck after a jet engine exploded. Sounds interesting ;D

My son had to go to an asthma specialist to prove he did not have asthma. The asthma specialist told us he had a guy put on his app he had a peanut allergy when he was a kid but no longer had it. Even with the written paper from the Dr the Navy wouldn't take him. I am not saying to lie but...

VagineND 5 months ago
@VagineND If you fail out of air rescue swimmer, uhmm get ready to go undesignated.
yfna1 5 months ago
@VagineND the asvab score is never really used.... it's your GT score which is related to your ability to learn things. Typically a GT score of 110 or higher can get you into just about any job out there. GT score is part of the asvab

I heard that the bathroom stalls in boot camp don't have doors on them. Is that true or has it changed since my step dad was in there?
maximus112292 1 year ago
@maximus112292 the stalls have walls, but only draw curtains for doors
jollydude101 1 year ago
@maximus112292 that was true when I was in boot camp in 1999. :) the stalls on submarines, however, do have doors on them. :) (I was a submariner.) The reason for no doors is probably two reasons: (1) make sure the recruits are not doing anything they shouldn't be and (2) make sure they are used to less privacy on ships and especially submarines.

az is the worst rate, who the fuck would choose that shit
CraftLulz 1 year ago

Thank you for uploading them and giving people something to look at to either make themselves better in the Navy, or for those who are just coming in and don't realize what could happen.

navydiver121 1 year ago
@navydiver121 He mentioned that they would have tests for them to take. Yes it's true that they need to be healthy. He's talking about how some people VIEW it as the Navy "screwed" them over. Next time pay attention before you start mouthing off. That's the number one thing they taught us at bootcamp. Attention to details. So do that, and stop threating people on youtube. Show some freaking maturity, if you went to bootcamp and are in the Navy, you're doing a horrible job of showing it.
