  • This is a very "lacking" video. =p

  • @lazarokim36 why i went viral????? o.o

  • the puerto rican flag next to liberty's head --- BREATHTAKING sight / reality.

    nice music.

peace to puerto rico / africa.

  • God, I love Puerto Rico so much, its the my home, my island, its the most beatifual place on this planet, its people are the most beatifual people, and we have the most beatifual culture. Puerto Rican Independence, don't let them have our homeland. God bless Puerto Rico.

  • if these fake puerto ricans want to be free, why don't they go back to africa and stop whinning.they couldn't run their own africa, what makes you think they could run puerto rico

  • @1989tonyg Fuck you, your an idot, you don't know real Puert Ricans, we want our own Country is that a sin?

  • Puerto Rico is going to be the 51st state of the United State of America.

  • @G1formation nooooooooo my island needs to be a country, not some american puppet territorym :(

  • @LegoGuy87 If PR becomes a US state, it will become much much much much richer than it is now. That is why its so hard to become a state and the US hasnt allowed it in so long. PR's economy is not big enough to be a US state but if it became a US state it would have an economic boom. So at first its bad for the US govt, but in the long run its good. It will take decades for Puerto Rico to become profitable for the US, but itll be good for Puerto Ricans because youll get more money.

  • @G1formation haha more money, do you see the us economy right now? we have to deal with home florcloseres, gas prices and income taxes for war. Puerto Rico if a country (which I hope it will) they could be free from florclosure and have a stable economy than US now. -.-

  • @LegoGuy87 Country:

    United States

    Occupation:

    Getting one soon.

    Interests:

Watching "Regular Show" and "The Looney Tunes Show", Video Games, Chess, Chuck Norris Facts, Computer Games, Nerf Wars

  • @LegoGuy87 Let me guess, you are just a little kid who had been brainwash by independentistas. Let me guess another thing that you are living in the USA, right!! What do you know about Puerto Rico? Can you go and do a little research about the situation in Puerto Rico? Please when you do that then we talk. I am going easy on you because you just a little kid who brain had been confuse by who know what. Puerto Rico without USA will sink in the middle of the ocean.

  • @loveangel71 I'm not a kid ok and I am puerto rican who yes lives in the us but My fellow brothers down their need independence and I am not brainwashed I am doing what people in my island need for their best interests. Why don't you go back to the country u come from and focus on your problems, btw I am going easy on u.

  • @LegoGuy87 I am Puerto Rican moved out it there, because the stupidity and corrupt Puerto Rican had become inclusive destructive themselves. People there, don’t give a shit about Puerto Rico at all. Many of the hard working professionals Puerto Rican like me who got tired of the bullshit over there had to migrate to USA. God bless America!!! The situation of Puerto Rico was caused by our own people nobody else had to be blame for it. No America, Dominican or Cuban who live there.

  • @loveangel71 I also moved to the USA. This is something I found out when, while volunteering for the 1979 Pan American Games, the "Edecanes" (volunteers) like me had a meeting about, of all things, how much they would get paid for "volunteering". I could not believe it! We were VOLUNTEERING to make the Games a success for Puerto Rico!. I discovered then that most Puerto Ricans don't care about Puerto Rico but only about themselves. A very fertile ground for the growth of communism & socialism.

  • @LegoGuy87 Another thing I don’t understand why in that Hell, are you asking for independence while you are living in America? Go back to Puerto Rico live there again then you can ask for independence. I call that hypocrite, you sound like the Cuban in Miami asking for USA to take down Fidel while they are playing Domino and drinking cortaditos in little Havana USA.

  • @LegoGuy87 I don't think @loveangel71 is an independenstista. Read his posts. I think he agrees more than he disagrees with you.

  • @albizu2010 In hosting America's largest population of illegal immigrants, California bears a huge cost to provide basic human services for this fast growing, low-income segment of its population. A new study from the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) examines the costs of education, health care and incarceration of illegal aliens, and concludes that the costs to Californians is $10.5 billion per year.

  • @albizu2010 Among the key finding of the report are that the state's already struggling K-12 education system spends approximately $7.7 billion a year to school the children of illegal aliens who now constitute 15 percent of the student body. Another $1.4 billion of the taxpayers' money goes toward providing health care to illegal aliens and their families, the same amount that is spent incarcerating illegal aliens criminals.

  • @albizu2010 The cost of harboring illegal immigrants in the United States is a staggering $113 billion a year -- an average of $1,117 for every “native-headed” household in America -- according to a study conducted by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR). The study, a copy of which was provided to FoxNews.com, “is the first and most detailed look at the costs of illegal immigration ever done,”

  • @albizu2010 Population

    48.4 million million

The estimated Hispanic population of the United States as of July 1, 2009, making people of Hispanic origin the nation's largest ethnic or race minority. Hispanics constituted 16 percent of the nation's total population. In addition, there are approximately 4 million residents of Puerto Rico, a Carribbean U.S. territory.

  • @G1formation money can be gained again. But our culture wont make sense being a state our language wont make sense bcs the population in PR that speak english is not big our anthem wont make sense nothing acomplish in history will not even make sense a lil bit bcs we are going to get american history in shcool instead of ours and also my country will not be a slave to USA never.

  • @albizu2010 Money can be gained again? Let me ask Dominican Republic with all the millions of dollar, which they are making in the tourism business why they prefer Puerto Rico as a bridge to USA? But our culture won’t makesense being a state?

  • @albizu2010 Let me ask Hawaii if they lost their culture and language. What culture we have? When our flag is a fucking copy of Cuba? The salsa music is not complete ours, the gritos de lares flag is another fucking copy of Dominican Republic. I feel shame when Latinos talks shit saying we stole their flag and music. I rather am American citizen than dealing with this crap every day.

  • @loveangel71 you obviosly dont know nothing about PR or its culture but u did one thing right U STAYED IN THE USA atleast u listened and stayed where u belong im puertorican so its my ground you want to be american its your choice

  • @loveangel71 Leave us the fuck alone, this means everything to Puerto Ricans like me, stop this bullshit, leave Puerto Rico alone. Some us want Independence for our Island, why can't you just live with that!

  • @ConcepcionPR The only way, I will leave everything alone will be if i die, even if i die, i will come back to continue my mission to educate the bunch of stupid lazy mother fucker who don't understand shit about this world. Some us you want independence then go to Cuba or Dominican Republic and ask why are there so many in Puerto Rico and USA. Ask them why they rather die in the sea than staying in their independent islands. Why are so many Mexican crossing the border to USA?

  • @loveangel71 Your spamming this beatifual video.

  • @ConcepcionPR Oh really? look who is talking. Spamming by bringing the truth, i don't think so

  • @loveangel71 Hey knock knock nobody cares about you, or what you have to say, these people call you an "Internet Troll". Lol.

  • @ConcepcionPR You are really insane, i feel sorry for your crazy ass trying to fool people. The people of Puerto Rico is not fool, they will not fall for the lies of non-puerto rican like you.

  • @loveangel71 Cool.

  • @loveangel71 Hi buddy , I see that the 2% of ignorants separatist they just keep trying to push an issue that its been rejected by the majority of the people of PR " PNP & PPD alike " for decades , the are desperate and short tempered but even if they are only a 2% we have to make sure that that # never goes up but down to 0% by educating them , the people of PR doesn't have to throw their future away to feel more P-rricans , be a true P-rrican is in your heart .

  • @PRstate51NOW This lady concepcionPR in another forum claim to be from another nationality not Puerto Rican. She said that she hate seen the American flag next to the Puerto Rican. Many of this people are not even Puerto Rican i had investigated their profiles and comment in other forum. they disguised themselves as Puerto Rican to fool some stupid People who believed their lies not investigating anything that they said or claim. I had sent many reports to them not my words.

  • @loveangel71 who is doing this???

  • @PRstate51NOW I don't see the Cubans in Miami having identity problems or neither the Mexicans or central American in California, Arizona or Texas. The Dominican In New York are not having identity problems or loosing their cultures. This bullshit was starter either by a separatist or another latino to confuse stupid idiots that live in Puerto Rico. unfortunately Puerto Rican lost the ability to analyzed, critical thinking or do a research before getting in to a conclusion.

  • @PRstate51NOW We need to educate these suckers in the island because the more time they waste trying to figure out what to do, the more we sink in to oblivion while other Latinos multiply like rats in USA getting power and vote the worse will be for us in the future. believed me when i tell this, Latino in USA hate our guts, they will try everything to fuck us. If this idiots in PR keep believing their lies, we will be doom without no doubts. Especially our sworn enemy Mexicans.

  • @loveangel71 This separatist are a bunch of crying babies , they always portrait the US like some kind of big boggy man that is after destroying the culture of PR , the P-rricans in PR haven't lost their culture in the over 100 years that PR its been part of the US and neither the P-rricans that lived in the states , another stupid thing they do on their videos is that they try to make PR look to the world like if we got no freedom , we got freedom of free determination if the majority want that

  • @albizu2010 Yes I know too dam much about Puerto Rico and its culture, I was born there unfortunately. I said unfortunately because it make me puke every time our fellow citizen do some stupid shit to make us look really bad and end up in other fucking Latinos tongue. I can send you a big list of our famous and non-famous country men doing stupid shit to make us look bad. Yes I am living in USA for very long since i had to abandoned Puerto Rico because i couldn't stand the shit happening overthe

  • @loveangel71 the shit happening here is bcs of the american goverment that u so love and the gringos wannabi aka PNP thats why we are fucked up

  • @albizu2010 Oh Really!!! Let’s blame somebody else our problem instead of fixing it, you are totally wrong because Puerto Rico is fucked up by our own people nobody else. At least Mexico, Dominican Republic and Haiti don’t blame it on somebody else.

  • @albizu2010 I love USA because here I feel free of our Latino Mentality. This beautiful country USA took me in its arms gave me a future which i didn't have in Puerto Rico. I feel secure, free, gave a future and far away from Puerto Rico corrupt system. The same thing with every fucking Latinos who come here looking for a better life, the life they didn't have in their poor and corrupted system no different as Puerto Rico. We are not different as any Mexican, Cuban, Dominican, etc. we have same

  • @albizu2010 We have the same Latino mentality of take and not give back to society, at least European and Asian in USA have better future than Latino. Majority of European and Asian come to USA to have business and study while the Latinos come here to USA to live on welfare been a burden to USA. Only a few Latinos change their mentality. Puerto Rican need to free their mind from the Latino mentality stop been a burden to themselves. We need to concentrate to study and work harder instead lazy.

  • @loveangel71 but while our country suffers colony, you are livin la vida loca? no mires a los demas como ellos son mirate a ti como tu pudes hacer un PR libre de USA como dijo gandi be the change you want to see in the world

  • @albizu2010 Puerto Rico WILL be a part of the union as a state.

  • @G1formation hahaha ok go ahead. How much PR cost to you can to just give it away from existance? are u retarted? there already 50 states just move to one bcs they are real states they speak english and everything. and if u already live in one of them good job BUT PR WILL NEVER BE A STATE NEVER PR WILL NEVER BE A SLAVE

  • @albizu2010 PR is a slave right now fool. Once PR is a state we will hold much more power in the US and around the world. If PR becomes a state it will be much richer and have more jobs and services.

  • @G1formation i know is a slave but u want to be part of that country that made us a slave or you want to work for that country that made us a slave so really not tryn to be rude YOU ARE A COCKSUCKER bcs you want to get rid of PR and also tell me proove that PR will have real jobs bcs you dont have prove to backup that stupid shit you just wrote and really dont msg me back bcs you live in the USA so really your not hurting country u just sit and complain

  • @albizu2010 Idk you babble like an idiot. PR will be a state of the USA!!!!!

  • @G1formation and you suck dick like a traidor VIVA PR LIBRE HASTA LA VICTORIA SIEMPRE

  • @albizu2010 PUERTO RICAN FREE YOUR MINDS!!!! STUDY AND WORK HARD FOR YOUR GOALS NO MORE WELFARE OR DRUGS. PUERTO RICAN FREE YOUR MINDS!!!! STUDY AND WORK HARD FOR YOUR GOALS NO MORE WELFARE OR DRUGS. PUERTO RICAN FREE YOUR MINDS!!!! STUDY AND WORK HARD FOR YOUR GOALS NO MORE WELFARE OR DRUGS. PUERTO RICAN FREE YOUR MINDS!!!! STUDY AND WORK HARD FOR YOUR GOALS NO MORE WELFARE OR DRUGS. PUERTO RICAN FREE YOUR MINDS!!!! STUDY AND WORK HARD FOR YOUR GOALS NO MORE WELFARE OR DRUGS.

  • @albizu2010 Nope. PR WILL BE A STATE OF THE GREAT AMERICA!!

  • @G1formation i see you like american dicks keep sucking thats your thing one question why you like sucking dick alot?

  • @albizu2010 Let’s blame it on our politicians all of them no matter what political party they are affiliated. Let’s blame it on our own People for not doing their duty to educate our children for not taking the first step to fight drugs, crime and drugs dealer locally and internationals. People in Puerto Rico don’t give a shit about Puerto Rico future or even care about the future generation. Keep blaming somebody else instead of yourselves.

  • @albizu2010 Do you know who is sucking American Dicks, let talk about the millions of Mexicans, central American, Cubans, south Americans even Dominican living in USA which are surpassing Puerto Rican in New York. Most of them becoming American citizen by thousands, we are part of USA, but they are not. Those are the North American dicks suckers.

  • algun dia nos vamos a tener nuestra independencia

  • If Puerto Rico would become a Republic it would have nothing to fear. It has the best educated and productive work force, the best infrastructure and the most local investment capital available of all the islands in the Caribbean. By utilizing all those stengths appropriately with full power to negotiate and sign commerce treaties with other countries including the USA, and with full development of their industrial potential, PR would make it very well as a free nation. I can't see why not.

  • @Triosfrios Drug-related violence is endemic in Puerto Rico. Homicide rates typically rank among the highest in the United States, and law enforcement officials report that most of these homicides are related to drug trafficking. DTOs use intimidation, violence, and murder to gain and retain control of drug distribution points in the HIDTA region.

  • @Triosfrios Firearms legally and illegally transported into the PR/USVI HIDTA region from the CONUS, particularly Florida, are of significant concern to law enforcement officials in Puerto Rico, which is a principal destination for these firearms. For instance, in March 2008, 15 members of a criminal organization were indicted in Tampa, Florida, on 36 federal violations, including acquiring firearms illegally in Florida and illegally transporting the firearms to Puerto Rico.

  • @Triosfrios Members of this organization would purchase firearms from licensed dealers in Florida and, unbeknownst to these dealers, knowingly resell the weapons to convicted felons with ties to island-based DTOs. Law enforcement officials further report that these members knew that the weapons would be used to commit violent crimes related to drug trafficking.

  • @Triosfrios The illegal or undocumented component of the Dominican immigration to Puerto Rico has increased over recent decades, becoming large enough to attract great attention, both in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

  • @Triosfrios The first recorded illegal trip took place in 1972, and perhaps 28% of all Dominicans in Puerto Rico were undocumented in 1996, during the peak decade of Dominican immigration to the Commonwealth; many of the documented residents had regularized their originally undocumented status. Illegal immigration has been one of the most recurrent themes in Puerto Rican news media during the first decade of the 21st century.

  • @Triosfrios The 2006 Puerto Rico Community Survey estimated a population of 69,854 Dominicans in Puerto Rico,[1] equal to 1.78% of the Commonwealth's population. Data from the 2000 census shows that 55% of this group lived in San Juan municipality, 11% in Carolina, and 7% in Bayamón. Women form a fairly large majority of the Dominicans in Puerto Rico. Intermarriage rates with Puerto Ricans are also high.

  • @Triosfrios Tourism is an important component of the Puerto Rican economy supplying an approximate $1.8 billion. In 1999, an estimated five million tourists visited the island, most from the United States. Nearly a third of these are cruise ship passengers. An increase in hotel registrations, which has been observed since 1998, and the construction of new hotels and the Puerto Rico Convention Center are indicators of the current strength of the tourism industry.

  • @Triosfrios Significant population growth and insufficient jobs led to large scale emigration of Puerto Ricans to the United States. Tourism and remittances from abroad contribute significantly to Puerto Rico’s economy. The country’s limited natural resources have not been mined due to environmental concerns. The United States is Puerto Rico’s main trading partner and the US minimum wage laws apply in the island nation.

  • @Triosfrios Puerto Rico’s economic growth has steadily declined since the 1970s, mainly due to the high welfare expenditure of the government and the consequent increase in its fiscal deficit. High unemployment levels also remain a major area of concern. The country’s GDP growth has turned negative in recent years, mainly due to the global economic crisis

  • @Triosfrios Pharmaceuticals, electronics, apparel, food processing, oil refining and the manufacturing of machinery and chemicals are the major industries in Puerto Rico. Tourism and the funds remitted by nearly 2.7 million Puerto Ricans living in the United States are the major source of revenue for this Caribbean nation.

  • @Triosfrios Nutrition Assistance for Puerto Rico or NAP is a federal assistance nutritional program provided by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) solely to the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, a self-governing dependency of the United States.

  • @Triosfrios It provides over $1.5 billion in supplemental economic resources to help just over 1 million impoverished residents cope with their nutritional needs.[1][2] The program is commonly known in Puerto Rico as Programa de Asistencia Nutricional, PAN, or Cupones in Spanish, and is based on, though not directly part of, the USDA's national Food Stamp Program.[3][4]

  • @Triosfrios All of them asking for American citizenship leaving family, friends and love ones behind, Puerto Rico are a very small island in the Caribbean with a few resources only depend from tourism from USA because nobody else goes to Puerto Rico. If we start mining or something else the island will be doom. We Puerto Rican are aware of the situation we are not dumb. Thank you for your comment anyway

  • @loveangel71 I am a college student in the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez. I want to say that your points are very misleading. I don't know were you get your information but non true. Thats all I wanted to say, all so America is very unfair to us Puerto Ricans who live in the Island. I had to wait 7 months to get a loan, and I was top student, the University is run by American intreast groups, they make it unfair for Puerto Ricans to attend their own college.

  • @loveangel71 University is run by American intreast groups, they make it unfair for Puerto Ricans to attend their own college. The Intreast groups work to give loans, grants, and scholarships to Asian, American, and foreign students. The U.S. is supporting many Asian students to come to Puerto Rico with very generous offers and grants, they are doing this so they can better there foreign relations with China and Asian countries. And they send their owns students here easily.

  • @loveangel71 It makes it extremely difficult for someone like me born in Puerto Rico to get any sort of loan, financial aid, scholarship, grant to go to College, this is truly unfair because the U.S. and U.S. intreast groups here in Puerto Rico are choking Young Puerto Rican advancement and education.

  • @loveangel71 The U.S. is stopping on the heads of Puerto Ricans who are trying to advance themselves. Its preventing Puerto Rico from becoming any better. In our Highschools we don't have sport leagues in highschool because the Puerto Rican politicians who are in the statehood party have banned it (They are all U.S. puppets). The draft put in the 80s gives a Puerto Rican athlete huge huge disadvantage in becoming somebody. Any Puerto Rican who favors U.S., is bending over to be fucked by U.S.

  • @tribeboricua The U.S. hasn't allowed for much Puerto Rican entrepreneurship on their OWN island thats NOT DEMOCRACY. U.S. has turned Puerto Rico our beautiful Island into a American business gold mine. The factories, roads, warehouses, plants, factories, army bases that U.S. has made and ect. Has pushed many Puerto Ricans into PROJECTS so the least U.S. can do is give them Welfare Checks, with an unemployment of 40% thats very hard to find jobs with 40% rate. PUERTO RICAN INDEPENDENCE!

  • @ConcepcionPR Puerto Rican had pushed themselves into the projects nobody else, they think by drinking, drugs and dancing reggeaton is the only way to be somebody. I almost forgot pick in up welfare checks. The factories, roads, warehouses, plants, factories, army bases that U.S. has made in Puerto Rico keep us afloat that is call progress. That is call revenue for the island if the Puerto Rican politician steal it that another thing.

  • @loveangel71 The Projects were made decades before Reggaetone was born. Your wrong the Projects were actually put into place by Americans, the U.S. had turned Puerto Rico into a SLUM after the Spanish and American war. Than it made it worser and worser throughout the decades, the Projects were made so they could house all the bull shit they had done, they had made so many Puerto Ricans homeless. They had destroyed there homes, lands, homes, stores, read a book about this before you talk.

  • @ConcepcionPR You sound to me like a Chavista o Fidelista with the same bullshit, for real who is training you to talk bullshit. It is very clear to me that it is the truth. I don’t have time now to send data but I will later own.

  • @loveangel71 This is not bull shit. Kid seriously this is true, THE U.S. MEDIA DOESN'T EVEN TRY TO HIDE IT! IT WAS ON THE NEWS! THE U.S DOESN'T EVEN HIDE ANY OF THIS ITS ALL WELL DOCUMENTED! Kid grow up not everything the U.S. does is candy and gold. The U.S. hasn't done anything good for Puerto Rico and everything being said is true. You need to grow up and smell reality. Stop living in dream world.

  • @ConcepcionPR Large scale Chinese immigration to Puerto Rico and the Caribbean began during the 19th century. Unlike their European counterparts, Chinese immigrants had to face various obstacles which prohibited or restricted their entry in Puerto Rico. When Puerto Rico was a Spanish colony, the Spanish government did not encourage settlers of non-Hispanic origin.

  • @ConcepcionPR Even though the Spanish government changed its stance with the passage of the Royal Decree of Graces (Real Cédula de Gracias) of 1815, the decree was aimed at non-Hispanic Europeans who were willing to swear their allegiance to the Roman Catholic Church and not at Asians. After Spain ceded Puerto Rico to the United States in accordance to the Treaty of Paris of 1898,

  • @ConcepcionPR Chinese immigrants faced another obstacle with the passage of the Chinese Exclusion Act (1882) which forbade the entry and immigration of Chinese nationals to the United States and its territories.n influx of Chinese immigrants began to arrive in Puerto Rico after the Chinese Exclusion Act was repealed in 1943 and in the 1950s, when hundreds of Cuban Chinese fled Cuba after Fidel Castro came to power.

  • @ConcepcionPR When the United States enacted the Chinese Exclusion Act on May 6, 1882, many Chinese in the United States fled to Puerto Rico, Cuba and other Latin American nations. They established small niches and worked in restaurants and laundries.[3]

  • @ConcepcionPR The Chinese Exclusion Act, was a United States federal law which implemented the suspension of Chinese immigration.[4] After the Spanish-American War, Spain ceded Puerto Rico to the United States under the conditions established by the Treaty of Paris of 1898.

  • @ConcepcionPR Chinese workers in the United States were allowed to travel to Puerto Rico. Some worked in the island's sugar industry, but most worked in re-building Puerto Rico's infrastructure and rail systems. Many of the workers in Puerto Rico decided to settle permanently in the island.

  • @ConcepcionPR Chinese Puerto Ricans are involved in operating Chinese restaurants, and others work in other sectors. Many members of Puerto Rico's Chinese minority have integrated both Puerto Rican and Chinese cultures into their daily lives. Some Chinese have intermarried with Puerto Ricans and many of today's Chinese-Puerto Ricans actually have Hispanic surnames and are of mixed Chinese and Puerto Rican descent, e.g., Wu-Trujillo.[7]

  • @ConcepcionPR Illegal immigration of Chinese nationals has become a problem in Puerto Rico. On November 28, 2007, the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced that 15 citizens of the People's Republic of China were arrested and indicted for human smuggling. According to the indictment, the defendants participated in an alien smuggling organization operating out of the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico

  • @ConcepcionPR . The organization dedicated itself to transporting, moving, concealing, harboring and shielding aliens. They arranged the transportation and moving of Chinese nationals from the Dominican Republic into the United States.[10]

  • @ConcepcionPR Puerto Ricans have both immigrated and migrated to New York. The first group of Puerto Ricans moved to New York in the mid-19th century when Puerto Rico was a Spanish Colony and its people Spanish subjects and therefore they were immigrants. The following wave of Puerto Ricans to move to New York did so after the Spanish-American War.

  • @tribeboricua Let me asking something who is ruling in Puerto Rico? Of course Puerto Rican politicians none of less, they are fucking up their own people. Puerto Rican can not rule Puerto Rican like every Latin American country are fuck up because bad stupid criminals politicians.

  • @loveangel71 Puerto Rican Politicians are all white Puerto Ricans who despise most of there won't people they are very racist, and most of them are more interested on what American politicians think than what the Island thinks. If you were a true Puerto Rican and had some family in Puerto Rico you would know this. You should know this. 70 percent of those Politicians are corrupted by U.S. interests.

  • @ConcepcionPR However, the largest wave of migration came about in the 1950s in what became known as "The Great Migration" with the advent of air travel. The Great Depression which spread throughout the world was also felt in Puerto Rico. Since the island's economy was and still is dependent to that of the United States,

  • @ConcepcionPR you are an ignoramus. I am Puerto Rican and I totally disagree with you. It sounds like you have a chip.... or rather a log on your shoulder. Get rid of it. You must take a deep breath and move on. Puerto Rico would not be free and able to prosper without our relationship with the United States. Puerto Rico would be another third world nation ruled by a dictator. Have you not learned your lesson yet from looking at what happened to Cuba?

  • @NenaPR51 Don't call me ignorant because you disagree with me. I truly believe that U.S. is hurting Puerto Rico economically, socially, and politically. I have my own ideas, views, thinkings, and feelings you can't judge me on that. U.S. fiscal policy experiments and the control over the Islands currency, immigration, and its entreprenuerial misuse of Puerto Rico has hurt PR. Yes, and I'm aware that U.S. sends PR welfare checks, but it also misues and abuses Puerto Rico and imperalises it.

  • @loveangel71 Did you not just listen to what he said? He said that Asian and American students of a lower caliber academia potential are placed into Puerto Rican universities with great scholarships and lots of free money because the U.S. wants to strengthen its relations with China, the U.S. is using Puerto Rico. Its bringing down Puerto Ricans making it harder for them to attend their own Universities. If thats not oppression I don't know what is.

  • @ConcepcionPR Asian student goes to school to study, latinos student goes to school to have fun.

  • @loveangel71 The U.S. has brought in thousands of Asians into Puerto Rico, they strengthen relations with China. And the Puerto Rico is all ready overpopulated... So lol U.S. really wants are well being *sarcasm* They are using Puerto Rico like a tool. The U.S. officials have said this themselves, alot of riots have taken place in Puerto Rico over this issue.

  • @ConcepcionPR Pure bullshit with all the great university in USA why they are going to take Asian student to Puerto Rico?, may be a few of then decide to move to Puerto Rico like some in Hawaii which is closer to their Asian nations.

  • @loveangel71 Look tribualboricua is telling you this and his in PR. Also its not PURE bull shit there was huge strikes and fighting over this are you fucking kidding me right now. This is the dumbest thing you have said so far, haven't you watched the Puerto Rican news.. there has been a whole year of strikes, fighting, and riots in the Puerto Rican university over the rising of tuition for Puerto Ricans who attend PR universities. But the Americans and Asians get in almost free.

  • @ConcepcionPR it was to be expected that when the American banks and industries began to fail the effect would be felt in the island. Unemployment was on the rise as a consequence and therefore, many families fled to the mainland U.S.A. in search of jobs.

  • @ConcepcionPR he outbreak of World War II, opened the doors to many of the migrants who were searching for jobs. Since a large portion of the male population of the U.S. was sent to war, there was a sudden need of manpower to fulfill the jobs left behind.

  • @ConcepcionPR Puerto Ricans, both male and female, found themselves employed in factories and ship docks, producing both domestic and warfare goods. The new migrants gained the knowledge and working skills which in the future would serve them well. The military also provided a steady source of income[2

  • @ConcepcionPR In 1948, the Migration Division of the Department of Labor of Puerto Rico opened its office in New York City. Its mission was to mediate between the island and the New York/Puerto Rican community, assuage the adjustment experience of new arrivals, and generally inform them about jobs, housing and other critical concerns.[18] It wasn't long before the Puerto Rican "Barrios" in the South Bronx, Spanish

  • @ConcepcionPR Harlem, Manhattan's Lower East Side and in Brooklyn's Atlantic Avenue began to resemble "Little Puerto Rico's" with their "Bodegas" (small grocery stores) and "Piragueros" (Puerto Rican shaved ice venders) in every corner.[19] It is estimated that from 1946 to 1950 there were 31,000 Puerto Rican migrants in New York.

  • @ConcepcionPR Every latino country in this continent even Asia and European dependent of the USA to survive no one can come with bullshit about that. I can send you the Cuban migration, Dominican migration, Mexican Migration and south and central American migration to USA. We are privilege to be American citizen and no Latinos can talk shit because they migrate by thousand to USA. begging and crying for American citizenship.

  • @ConcepcionPR The cost of harboring illegal immigrants in the United States is a staggering $113 billion a year -- an average of $1,117 for every “native-headed” household in America -- according to a study conducted by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).

  • @ConcepcionPR The single largest cost to the government of illegal immigration, according to the report, is an estimated $52 billion spent on schooling the children of illegals. “Nearly all those costs are absorbed by state and local governments,’ the report states.

  • @ConcepcionPR Moreover, the study’s breakdown of costs on a state-by-state basis shows that in states with the largest number of illegals, the costs of illegal immigration are often greater than current, crippling budget deficits.

  • @ConcepcionPR In Texas, for example, the additional cost of immigration, $16.4 billion, is equal to the state’s current budget deficit; in California the additional cost of illegal immigration, $21.8 billion, is $8 billion more than the state’s current budget deficit of $13.8 billion; and in New York, the $6.8 billion deficit is roughly two-thirds the $9.5 billion yearly cost of its illegal population, according to Jack Martin, the researcher who completed the study.

  • @ConcepcionPR The report found that the federal government paid $28.6 billion in illegal related costs, and state and local governments paid $84.2 billion on an estimated 13 million undocumented residents. In his speech, Obama estimated that there are 11 million.

  • @ConcepcionPR Most immigrants are poor; indeed, that is why they come here. Through present immigration policy, we are admitting over one million mostly poor people into our society every year —a society that is already challenged to deal with the poverty of its natives.

  • @ConcepcionPR Costs Table from the October 1996 Huddle Study
