story behind the song? really? i think music would suffer disastorously if songs have to be affected by a related story. having said that this isn't very good, but don't get judgmental on people, especially if somebody has already said the exact same thing
Ok.... Soapbox time. I think this choir sounds nice, BUT it's really obvious that they don't know what they are singing about. To inform those that don't know, Wade in the Water is an old African spiritual. This is meant to be sung with a feeling of sorrow and desperation. They sang this in the days of the underground railroad as a way to let everyone know where to go and what to do to get out of slavery. *steps off soapbox*
Traditional gospel songs arranged to be fun and entertainment-oriented makes me nervous...
I wonder if this group knows the story behind this song.
I found out about it on a Youtube vid by a black male student and also from a Japanese friend that loves (maybe even worships) gospel music. That friend read about black history.
What I heard from them made me think about how I should feel and sing when I sing gospel songs like "Wade in the Water."
our version of wade in the water is SO MUCH BETTTER...moses hogan BITCHES..longmeadow high school...grammy winning high school...READ IT AND WEEP SO HARD
Oups! Can you stranslate your question in french or english please. Would be happy to answer you. I unsderstand that you're talking about the choreography.

in my opinion this is rediculous, if they knew the history behind this song they wouldnt be singing it with smiles on their faces
