  • From the Zondervan Bible Dictionary: Death by strangulation was not a form of capital punishment used in Bible times. Where the word is found in scripture, except in the two cases of suicide (I disagree with this, but does show that Biblical Hangings did not use a rope) by hanging 2 Sam 17:23 & Matt 27:5, it refers to the suspension of a body from a tree or post..... This is exactly what Judas did he dove off the cliff onto the trees headfirst and his guts spilled out on the ground.

  • Job 8:11 Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?

The way you are thinking flag must mean flag it can't mean something else because that is the word used. It actually means grass. Just like hanged means impaled, because when you are impaled you are hanging above the ground.

  • @pgfracing wrong I am comparing one scripture that says he hung himself...if you want to believe it says impaled then fine doesnt change the fact that in another scripture it says he fell head first and his guts burst open. That same scripture says he bought a field before he died. The first scripture says he gave away the money then killed himself. At the point of his death in this scripture no field was bought. Yet in Acts he is alive when the field was bought...that is the contradiction

  • Well that's not exactly apples to apples. When you are referring to the law. Things are different for legal transactions compared to illegal transactions. Of course we need to go by the law back then.

  • If you are impaled on something you are hanging above the ground. That is why the word says hanged. As for the field, Judas did not buy it personally, it was bought in his name, therefore one can say he bought it. Just like if your grandma bought you a car with your money. You bought the car even though she is the one who did the transaction.

  • @pgfracing According to your logic....if I throw 50 dollars into your house....then you take that fifty dollars and go and buy drugs I AM the one who can be charged with buying the drugs not you.--The law would say thats bullshit just like your argument

  • The truth shall set you free. Read Esther 6:4 it explains what a Biblical hanging is. It means to be thrown down onto a tree down below, or steak, or pillar. It did not include a rope.

  • @pgfracing 4And the king said, Who is in the court? Now Haman was come into the outward court of the king's house, to speak unto the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him--- Biblical hanging? Please send me the scripture that sctually say " Biblical hanging is does not include a rope....but it means to be thrown down onto a tree....

  • @pdog781 or how about you show me one scripture that shows me a rope was used? If you look at King Darius decree. It was Darius practice to impale people. If you are impaled on a pole you are hung above the ground on the pole. This was the way it was done back then. It is confirmed in our secular history books written from that time. I believe it was Herodutos that wrote the book.

  • @pgfracing It says he hanged himself...it doesnt say he impaled himself. And if you want to use some nonsensical semantics to justify this obvious contradiction why dont you move on and answer the contradiction on who bought the field...or are you sticking with the old christian comeback: " it was technically his money"....lol

  • Awesome! Kudos!

Had someone send me here. This is one of my favorite contradictions. Why people do not film the Lukan [Acts--Ed.] version is beyond me--exploding Judas. The Greek can be considered either he swells up and explodes or falls forward and evicerates: none of which happens with a hung body and, of course, there is no hanging in Acts or a "long time period."

Of course, in Mk and Jn, Judas lives happily ever after.

    Respect!

  • What gets me is that you are a gorgeous looking man, but have the spirit of satan. I'am really overwhelm by this. May God have mercy on your soul. I ask God to take you to a place so that you can be saved. Maybe thru a dream, wake up call, or thru a saved God fearing loving jesus person, who can cast that demon of unbelief out of you forever!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WRONG allhk!

Pdog is not a gorgeous looking man.

He is so ugly, he makes that dummy look good:)

But..... he has a beautiful mind.

  • Yes, the feet would touch first on the ground. However, once they touched, Judas would have to either fall backwards, sideways or face forward because Judas could no longer stand due to being dead. A factor you convenently forgotten.

  • Yes, the feet would touch first on the ground......so the Biblical account stating he fell headfirst is wrong...that was my point. If we make up our own what if's...may as well rewrite the whole bible according to your own imagination!

  • well what your failing to realize is gravity acted in different ways back then and they also didn't have stuffed teddy bears and tennis balls to make gravity act like it does now. Also stuffed people fall different than real people do because they don't have guts. Also fields where different back then so they could be purchased by dead people. When Newton invented the new gravity is when everything became like it is today and that's when the last remaining unicorn became pink and invisible

  • Not an argument, but maybe it's as simple as he just got the wrong story. I don't think anyone watched him hang himself, and Luke was just going off of hearsay, and came up with his own story. How long until they found him? After the land was purchased? Maybe they thought he did buy it. Then killed himself for some reason. And the guts thing just sounds like telling a story to me.

  • maybe it was like the clint east would "hangem high"-the hanging did not kill him-and in the good, bad and the ugly at the end of the movie-he shoots tuko's rope and his head hits a stone, not feet first-still maybe judas hanged himself by his feet(people thought them that blood rushed to bottom and you would die) and fell-it says he hanged himself, not hanged himself by the neck

  • first-still maybe judas hanged himself by his feet(people thought them that blood rushed to bottom and you would die)

are you serious?! quit while ur behind playset...dont make yourself sound completely retarded....you have no source to back up your claim that people thought hangin themselves by the feet was effective....but regardless of that...hanging from the feet DOESNT kill you...you snap your neck when hanging yourself....you dont strangle yourself!

  • Pdog, this is an argument based on ignorance. Strangulation is in fact one aspect of hanging as there is a closing of the airway upon hanging. The rest of your statements are true however. I'll deal with the rest of your arguments in your vid later.

  • you can always tell a dedicated, unconquerable atheist because their bibles are just as worn out as a preacher's

    pour it on pdog!

  • hahaha...contrary to what cornered fundies might say..I really have studied that shit!!!Good observation..lol--The difference between a christian and a former christian is what??...

  • dog you did quite the job with the green, it went right past me and i did not even realize it!

  • just like a wreck witnessed by lots of people, everyone sees it different

  • yes....hangings are often misconstrued as falling head first and splitting your bowels open...easy to mistake one for another..lol

  • translations have changed things in the bible-big difference between thou shall not murder and though shall not kill-not kill-contradiction-not murder-no contradiction-oddly enough, what makes bible believable is that stories are different as seem through differnet people-heard preacher explain this and it makes sense-gyt that works for me says we are not suppose to be able nor should interpret the bible-somehow what he says makes sense-why is your freind white? He looks dead

  • It's to bad that we have to give a shit what the bible says in order to show fundies the truth.

Read The God Delusion for more relevance.

  • Sorry pdiggity, that wasn't convincing. Go Raiders, woooooooooooo!

  • Maybe the two testimonies are cotnradictory, certainly they aren't neccessarily so. Judas fell headlong. Maybe his head hit the ground first. Maybe his head or feet never hit the ground at all. Why would his bowels have gushed out? Yep. Branch I reckon. He would have to have been in a distracted state to have made such a mess of his sucide of course, which he was. And so the falling headlong and the bowels gushing out are connected. How else might falling headlong in a field result in this?

  • And sit up straight. You look like a short fat pimp.

  • Isaac, if you want to make a point, speak clearly and make sense. Nice video pdog.

  • Nice blowup doll.

  • Good insight! I like the CSI style investigation!

  • Awesome video, pdog :D

  • LOLOLO

I bet the neighbors thought you were nuts when you hanged that dummy!

  • way to bust a myth pdog!

  • My neighbor has a little daughter who was just soooooo intrigued...watching me drop 'Judas'- LOL

  • Pdog for president
