Thanks to liberal policy the world economy is crashing. We must do two things to stop the meltdown NOW!!! Firstly, we need to raise all payroll taxes 10% for one year. We also need to stop (right now) wasteful handout programs like medicare, social security, unemployment,, etc. and lower the minimum wage to $2/hr so we can compete with China. @royaladam I think you have trouble following a debate. He was accused of being a war monger based on the fact he didn't serve. He's not denying that he didn't serve, what he's denying is the claim that he would wage unnecessary war without any regard for the troops that put their lives on the line, and backing that with the fact he comes from and grew up in a military family. It's completely relevant.

If a politician joins the military and becomes a chef for about two years, never sees combat, they're going to play up the fact that they served in the military. Which means Mr. Gingrich was right to bring up his experience with the defense department which means he probably has more experience than Ron Paul at conducting military affairs. You just don't know how to debate.

Once in a while a man of peace, truth and wisdom comes along, it's a small window for folk who know something is wrong to make a change and correct the evil even if it is just for a short while. Ron Paul is that window.
I think a fundamental part of being a staunch Republican is fear; Republicans seem afraid of every country with a musket, and always have been. I am not a Ron Paul fan by any stretch of the imagination, BUT he raises extremely important questions in regards to our 'full spectrum dominance' foreign policy (supported by both parties), as well as his principled stand against the Patriot Act and the completely insane war on drugs and terror. He's not denying that he didn't serve, what he's denying is the claim that he would wage unnecessary war without any regard for the troops that put their lives on the line, and backing that with the fact he comes from and grew up in a military family. It's completely relevant.

If a politician joins the military and becomes a chef for about two years, never sees combat, they're going to play up the fact that they served in the military. Which means Mr. Gingrich was right to bring up his experience with the defense department which means he probably has more experience than Ron Paul at conducting military affairs. I think a fundamental part of being a staunch Republican is fear; Republicans seem afraid of every country with a musket, and always have been. I am not a Ron Paul fan by any stretch of the imagination, BUT he raises extremely important questions in regards to our 'full spectrum dominance' foreign policy (supported by both parties), as well as his principled stand against the Patriot Act and the completely insane war on drugs and terror. Ron Paul wants to restore the power to the states. Did you know that before the 17th amendment, US Senitors were sent by the state legislatures, not a vote? They could be recalled at the will of the state legislatures and the people, giving true power to the local people.

We are a republic because of a limited powers and supreme control of the people. I honestly don't see the point in arguing this, it is self evident that we are also a democracy because we all have the right to vote.
