HEY GUYS, HOPE AND CHANGE UTOPIA, ARE WE THERE YET?? thanks for the change obama, you have taken my hard earned dollar and i have a dime and 4 pennies left, thanks!
These people are pledging to the president! this is WRONG! Our pledge is to the nation that made US! not some new president who everyone thinks will change the world! get a life everyone hes just an average joe taking your money.
Also, what is hilarious about the fact that they pick two of the most absurd people to represent mothers and fathers. Benji, Joel...whatever his name, and Ashlee...both were extremely irresponsible when they found out they were going to be parents. To show that is saying hey have all the sex you want, and if you get pregnant it's ok, the government will take care of it. How about taking your money towards organizations OTHER than planned parenthood that will help build our youth.
...(continued)...Not the other way around. So I understand to "be the change", but as far as stem cell research, you forget that not everyone is alike in this country not everyone agrees with this. This is typical celebrity brainwash. You think our young folk are sincerely going to believe this? I hope not. I hope they have brain enough to step back and analyze where this type of thinking sends us. What we are creating here is not a better America. It's a Communist America. Think about that.
Did everyone suddenly forget about socialism? About Russia and living in a communist country? Did everyone forget that there they pledge allegiance to the government, not to freedom as we once did? This irritates me simply because some of these people I respect, I can understand, pledging to help rebuild fine arts programs, sure. I'm a music major. But what they are asking me is to praise, and worship a man, who is just that. A man. Our president is put on the pedestal to serve us.
I have an idea! If they are so concerned, why don't they pledge to give their next 20 million dollar paycheck from their next film to the government to help pay for this stupid stimulus package?
I pledge to expose Barry "Obama" Saetoro's lies and ties to Eugenisists, International Bankers, and Third World Dictators, who is the salesman for a world dictatorship run by corporate robber barrons and people with intimate ties to the Third Reich.
I pledge not to fall for glossy propaganda that tells me to obey Glorious Leader, perverting a grand message of peace and care for my fellow humans, by mixing it with implied hero worship of a corrupt politician.
It shouldn't have to take something big and wonderful to happen in order for them to take initiative to do these wonderful things they speak of. Where were their hearts and minds before Obama took office...oh thats right, demeaning, disrespecting, hatefully tearing down Bush, that's where most of their time and money went...it's too bad...I pledge to pray for our country, I pledge to continue to be of service to my family first and my church and community. I pledge to stand for whats right
Work harder! Millions on welfare depend on YOU! I pledge I will not pay to watch any more movies with any of these actors. Why? Because where were these assholes for the past 8 years? Oh, they can't pledge to do this stuff while Bush is president, but when the Lard and Savior Obamessiah is here they find their LUV, and FUNK for Amurca? Screw them, and I hope they go broke.
Well Americans pay big bucks to see these celebs. I find it funny that people attack celebrities yet who made them a celebrity to begin with? Don't watch movies then, go salivate over Billy O'reilly and Sean Hannity
As a conservative let me just say, that Bill and Sean are not always right. But they do a hell of a lot better representing where this world is going than any of these supposed socially aware celebrities do. It's dangerous to pledge to a man, just the other day on the radio a student from Russia expressed his fears that America is heading in the same direction his country has. It's sickening to think about.
Since when do people pledge to do anything for the government? Doesn't the man or men in charge of the government have to pledge to do something for the people?
These people have their priorities mixed around that they "have to" serve their administration.
The only thing you have to do is examine your leaders to make sure they are effective and honest.
Rather than idealizing them as something just sort of messainic!!
I pledge to the Lord Jesus Christ alone and not this immoral man B. Hussein Obama and his satanic spirit of Anti-Christ . Or his liberal hollywood followers .
I makes me feel sorry for that Chuck actress she has a lot going for her. But Hollyood is a place that will fuck her up. I hope other actors don't do shit like this..
I pledge to marry one of those beautiful actress babes and live off her hush money while she's out serving all the needy Hollywood directors and Washington politicos who paid for this propaganda.
The president is supposed to be a servant of the people, not the other way around. If you want to pledge, why not pledge to your country instead? Better yet, just do these things because they are the right things to do.
All of these celebrities are giant tools. What stopped them from pledging services before? They show how the country is divided by not supporting the previous president and only acting like they care when it is convenient and trendy.
I pledge to ride my unicorn to work instead of driving my dirty old car. I pledge to stop ignoring my stupid family. Thank you Jesu- uh, I mean President Obabma!
I hate to say this but Obama doesn't inspire everybody 55 million people to be exact. You can't this kind of exspectations on one man. He will only fail if so much is placed on him. I wish him good luck in the job and i hope everything goes well.
Carrie, your inspired by his rhetoric. People are inspired by his rhetoric (just as people have been wowed by the speeches of political tyrants/snakes all throughout history), not his actions, not the man himself, and certainly not his policies. Charisma is nothing, invoking emotions in people is nothing. That his speeches implant hope in some people is nothing. It is false hope as much of his policies are just the status quo wrapped up in a new package, and will turnout to be disastrous.
Bill Clinton was right (not something you'll hear me say often) Obama is a fairly tale. Rhetoric and speeches is NOT leadership but try convincing his followers of that.
Hey- isn't forced unpaid service ordered by someone else considered slavery? Why is he going to add all these soldiers when he said he would make the military smaller? Watch your backs- free thinkers coagulate amongst your localities and get ready to SAY NO TO SLAVERY!!! Blogging is not enough!!! If he goes after the gun rights, know your fucked, because their will still be those with guns!
Whoa, how creepy can you get ? Anyone else getting that surreal-creepy Owellian vibe from this propaganda ? I pledge to serve Dear Leader, we love Dear Leader.....I hope americans are not zombified enough to fall for this crap.
People who blame bush for everything don't know the whole story. They just want somebody to blame. Like these hollywood far lefties they had to blame someone. I don't think thing's will "Change" that much it was just a slogan. This video is funny in a ironic way because they won't stop doing what they are doing. Obama doesn't even want to be associated with them that should say something. At least these loon's made themselves look stupid on national tv.
9/11 wasn't an inside job there is no evidence to supposrt it. Only crazy people think it was a inside job our old president would never do that on purpose. Who the hell came up with that anyway the far far left who is so out of touch and those anti-war groups that are chicken's. Really an inside job is a lame excuse considering the far looney left came up with that theory in the first place.
Danm right and i wish him the best of luck. I just don't need far left loon celeb's talking about about a pledge they won't follow. NObody want's to hear what these out of touch people say.
Bush wasn't all bad new's he wasn't all good news either. Bush wasn't afraid to do the hard thing's to protect us. If anything people are putting to much on Obama. And do you really think im gonna listen to a bunch idiots that are so far left they alienate people. They aren't even meaning what the say
so im not gonna trust what a bunch of elitist say. Why not do this a long time ago oh wait they hated our president and country.
I don't pledge to any single man, Republican or Democrat, and neither should any american. Could you imagine if this propaganda came during the Bush years? The hollywood brownshirts sicken me with their false pledges. What really pisses me off is the insinuation that up until Barack Obama's election that I haven't done enough for my community or tried to "change" the world. What arrogance!
that's the difference from action that stems out of convictions of the heart and conscience and moves without the spectacle of lighting and makeup and director's chairs... and is present no matter what the latest hollywood fad has declared is popular, acceptable, desirable, and cool.
it's more important for these fame and fortune addicted socialites to be filmed and seen and broadcast their pledges so as to jump on the bandwagon fad of "change" and "hope" and "obama"... rather than to quietly put forth the effort and action to DO the things they mention out of a sense of service and giving to others and stewardship... in spite of who the president may be.
kutcher and moore.. "i pledge to be a servant to our president".. "and all mankind". haha... way too exaggeratingly melodramatic to be taken seriously... but after all, these celebrity show-off crusades like this are filled with sensationalism and shallow feel-good lip-service without ever much follow-through or action. it might be a tad believable if their lives weren't focused on materialism, marketing, personal vanity, attention from the masses, and self-absorbed importance.
Do i have to say anything? This stupid video speaks for itself by being stupid with a bunch of elitist stars. How come im so annoyed now? Fuck you ashton kutcher and whoever else was on this really really stupid video. Thank god Bruce willis wasn't on this. Then again i think he's smarter then his ex.
You are correct, it is better late than never, still can you blame me for my anger toward those who have helped to keep the public blind for so long? Maybe I should be more angry with those who spend their priceless time paying attention to the lives and opinions of the celeb, or people who keep posting comments on them. HaHa
I disagree with obama on so many things, but I still wish him all the best and want his presidency to be succesful.
that being said this video is nothing more than a bunch of hollywood stars revealing the emptiness of their lives and the shallowness which characterizes their existences.
this is what happens when people don't have a God to worship or believe in Jesus--they find a substitute. Obama is a pseudo-spiritual figure to these people, not just a political savior.
The beauty of this country is that we are allowed to agree to disagree. More Hollywood celebrities donate more time and money than the average citizen. Lets hope more of this happens now. We have to be positive. We are allowed to believe that in this country you don't have to be a religious nut to consider their lives full. Lets think positive! Lets be optimistic! We need more positive energy in this country. Go America!
It is not a Presidents job to inspire anyone. It is a Presidents job to lead. Bush made mistakes, a lot, but last time I checked the fanatics that killed Americans on 9/11 haven't come knocking recently have they? This president wants to talk with these devils. They had to sneak in before, this clown is laying out a welcome mat. Do you think Ashlee Simpson could do anything more than teach our daughters to be talentless whores? Our morals are lost when we exalt those who have none.
ok celebs are people too and they have a right to express their opinion. and its not like bush has inspired people to do better, Barack Obama has. and whats wrong with making a pledge to do good things for this world?
Because its hype that's why, these idiots will practice nothing they preach. And why now? Why not 8 years ago? Why not everyday no matter who's in office? How weak are these people? You think diddy is going to go meet his fucking neighbors? Ahahah! first off it would be to far to walk next door with all that land and second black people dont do neighbors. Im really not exaggerating when i say this is the dumbest shit i have ever seen in my life, its like some sort of nazi secularism.
These Americans who want to do more, will they want to do less next time we have a President they don't like or the next time we have a President who doesn't offer a career boost for being on the band wagon? Screw them and their opportunisticly timed patriotism.
I got a pledge for Hollywood though I wonder how many of them are interested in making this pledge,
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation under God, indivisible, With Liberty and Justice for all.
The Oath of Enlistment which I took over 10 years ago when I joined the Navy is another pledge that I don't think I'll hear many of them taking.
It was an honor, truly. I was inspired to enlist in large part because of my many relatives who served during WWII. I was always the flag waving sort and wanted to contribute a little something back. I often think back to my enlistment and miss it at times. By far it was the most meaningful thing I ever did in my life. Someday when I have kids I'll share with them the importance of such service. Defending America, even during peacetime when I served, is important and worthwhile. Take care.
The Oath of Enlisment was your choice over ten years ago. It sounds as if you resent making that choice. Why should they make the Oath of Englistment if they chose not to enlist. You should be proud of your choice and you shouldn't resent anyone who chose not to enlist. It is a free country amigo.
I don't resent my choice to enlist and I respect and appreciate we have a all volunteer force but I do resent the conditional patriotism of so many Obama followers who only now can express any sort of love of country just because Obama is becoming president.
I don't think it is conditional patriotism but oh well, you are entitled to your opinion. It is a free country. The fact is that we have more Americans that want to do more for their country now. How can you be upset about that?
That is the beauty of this country, we are allowed to agree to disagree. Not all, but a lot Hollywood celebrities donate a lot of their time and money to charity. Lets hope this increases. God bless America! I love my country and I've always been proud to be American. Today I am prouder because we have shown the world that we can see beyond race and color!
Its totally conditional, why were these fucking idiots not preaching this cheesy shit when bush was in office? Cmon all the sudden and when i republican is back in power in 4 years this shit will not be seen.
Bush was all bad news...that is why...in this country we can agree to disagree. Now we have a President who is giving us hope and we want to do more for our country because now we feel that we have a real leader.
Bush was bad news because the left made it bad. Things in reality are no different than yesterday. People in this country bought houses they could not afford, applied for credit cards they could not keep up with, SUVs with twankies they never even came close to owning. And when things got tough their lives imploded and they lost everything. Maybe they should have lived a bit more conservative instead of blaming bush.
Expecting people to take personal responsibility for their lives? THAT'S CRAZY TALK!!! The govt will save us don't you know. A trillion + dollar deficit must be good for something that Obama is promising. Taxing the hell out of those who made responsible decisions to save those who made bad ones will surely save us... right?
I PLEDGE to try and help my fellow man to stop giving a shit about what celebrities think! The self serving celeb community supporting a self serving celeb president. The one thing that qualifies these people as role models or spokes-persons is the same thing that got this nobody elected, "celebrity". No moral, economic, world or security policy, only the ability to stand on a stage and convince the masses to fall on their knees and worship the god of celebrity. Tattoo his name on your heads!
These people obviously didn't do well in history class. I will serve my country, not my government. Don't listen to hollywood, they get paid to pretend. And wtf is this slavery nonsense? they pledge not to have slaves? they all look like idiots.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
This pledge is to help OUR president, to do something about IT, not just wait for our leaders to fix the world's problems while we criticize from our couches.
Did you hear everything else they said?
Ending hunger in AMERICA. To volunteer. To find a cure. To do SOMETHING. It's so easy to look at negatives rather than take in the POSITIVE message these people are trying to send. This is NOT about politics, this is about CHANGE. This is about the future of our planet, the future of our children.
We don't NEED the PRESIDENT to FEED the POOR people, DO we.
You're stupid. You're probably one of those people who like the word "change" because it's a nice fake word that really means "entitilement". People like you don't even bother to "pursue" happiness, you want a leader to tell you that it's alright to take hand outs. This is so unamerican you should just go cut yourself. Go kill yourself before you infect somebody else with your enslaved mindset.
Nonsense, the dawg is utilizing his right to free speech and you had better wake up from your appalling hero worship. I do believe you sheep are already fantasizing about silencing dissent of your leader. WAKE UP!!! He's a Chicago machine politician YOU DOPES.
Respect is earned bitch. Why the fuck would I respect some actor? Just because he/she is employed enough to make a lot of money? What do they have that adds to our culture? Nothing...
They could've said something like, "Read the Constitution because you people don't know what's in it." That would've been helpful in our country.
Yeah.. and what service will celebs provide? Getting uniformed people to follow thier political views? When you look to a celebrity for political advice thats pretty sad. These celebs are perpatrating a lie that Obama is change.. when he isnt. He wants more war, more wiretapping, more "Bush" policies, ect. I pledge right here and now to be an informed citizen who uses facts, not celebrity to make up my own mind.
For 8 years Pres. Bush was preventing these morons from bettering themselves and doing good deeds around the world how exactly? I think it says a lot about their character and love of country (or lack of it) that they can now only muster the will to make these pledges now that Obama is President. I got a pledge too, not to support the careers of these idiots with my hard earned money.
AHHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA BWHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!(SIGH) HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH (THUD) WOOOHOOOOOOOOWOOOOOHOOOOO( laughing form the grave..hahah Fuck you diddy you ass demon YOU turn the light off you fucking electricity hata!!!pffftbwhahahah!

gothybatsandrainbows 3 years ago
I don't pledge to any single man, Republican or Democrat, and neither should any american. Could you imagine if this propaganda came during the Bush years? The hollywood brownshirts sicken me with their false pledges. What really pisses me off is the insinuation that up until Barack Obama's election that I haven't done enough for my community or tried to "change" the world. What arrogance!

I pledge to join the revolution.......

that's the difference from action that stems out of convictions of the heart and conscience and moves without the spectacle of lighting and makeup and director's chairs... and is present no matter what the latest hollywood fad has declared is popular, acceptable, desirable, and cool.
brothermoon 3 years ago 2
it's more important for these fame and fortune addicted socialites to be filmed and seen and broadcast their pledges so as to jump on the bandwagon fad of "change" and "hope" and "obama"... rather than to quietly put forth the effort and action to DO the things they mention out of a sense of service and giving to others and stewardship... in spite of who the president may be.
brothermoon 3 years ago 2
kutcher and moore.. "i pledge to be a servant to our president".. "and all mankind". haha... way too exaggeratingly melodramatic to be taken seriously... but after all, these celebrity show-off crusades like this are filled with sensationalism and shallow feel-good lip-service without ever much follow-through or action. it might be a tad believable if their lives weren't focused on materialism, marketing, personal vanity, attention from the masses, and self-absorbed importance.
brothermoon 3 years ago 3
Do i have to say anything? This stupid video speaks for itself by being stupid with a bunch of elitist stars. How come im so annoyed now? Fuck you ashton kutcher and whoever else was on this really really stupid video. Thank god Bruce willis wasn't on this. Then again i think he's smarter then his ex.

The vid creeps me the fuck out. And Bruce Willis is the man.

You are correct, it is better late than never, still can you blame me for my anger toward those who have helped to keep the public blind for so long? Maybe I should be more angry with those who spend their priceless time paying attention to the lives and opinions of the celeb, or people who keep posting comments on them. HaHa
tecatedan 3 years ago

Our morals are lost when we exalt those who have none.
tecatedan 3 years ago 3
If the left keeps this up they will turn the republican party into the party of decent. This is insane.
mogul1265 3 years ago
ok celebs are people too and they have a right to express their opinion. and its not like bush has inspired people to do better, Barack Obama has. and whats wrong with making a pledge to do good things for this world?
QtEeAngelAndi 3 years ago
Because its hype that's why, these idiots will practice nothing they preach. And why now? Why not 8 years ago? Why not everyday no matter who's in office? How weak are these people? You think diddy is going to go meet his fucking neighbors? Ahahah! first off it would be to far to walk next door with all that land and second black people dont do neighbors. Im really not exaggerating when i say this is the dumbest shit i have ever seen in my life, its like some sort of nazi secularism.
mogul1265 3 years ago
yes, you're so right, they're just raising awareness, and btw it's better later than never.

Yakko77 3 years ago 4
Thank you for your service.
tecatedan 3 years ago
It was an honor, truly. I was inspired to enlist in large part because of my many relatives who served during WWII. I was always the flag waving sort and wanted to contribute a little something back. I often think back to my enlistment and miss it at times. By far it was the most meaningful thing I ever did in my life. Someday when I have kids I'll share with them the importance of such service. Defending America, even during peacetime when I served, is important and worthwhile. Take care.
Yakko77 3 years ago
The Oath of Enlisment was your choice over ten years ago. It sounds as if you resent making that choice. Why should they make the Oath of Englistment if they chose not to enlist. You should be proud of your choice and you shouldn't resent anyone who chose not to enlist. It is a free country amigo.
starzrun 3 years ago
I don't resent my choice to enlist and I respect and appreciate we have a all volunteer force but I do resent the conditional patriotism of so many Obama followers who only now can express any sort of love of country just because Obama is becoming president.
Yakko77 3 years ago
I don't think it is conditional patriotism but oh well, you are entitled to your opinion. It is a free country. The fact is that we have more Americans that want to do more for their country now. How can you be upset about that?
starzrun 3 years ago
I'll believe it when I see it otherwise these "pledges" are little more than New Years resolutions which are forgotten before the end of the month.
I don't know if we'll see eye-to-eye on this but I respect that you engaged in a civil and thought out discussion on the matter.
Agree to disagree.
Yakko77 3 years ago
That is the beauty of this country, we are allowed to agree to disagree. Not all, but a lot Hollywood celebrities donate a lot of their time and money to charity. Lets hope this increases. God bless America! I love my country and I've always been proud to be American. Today I am prouder because we have shown the world that we can see beyond race and color!
starzrun 3 years ago
Its totally conditional, why were these fucking idiots not preaching this cheesy shit when bush was in office? Cmon all the sudden and when i republican is back in power in 4 years this shit will not be seen.
mogul1265 3 years ago
Bush was all bad news...that is why...in this country we can agree to disagree. Now we have a President who is giving us hope and we want to do more for our country because now we feel that we have a real leader.
starzrun 3 years ago
Bush was bad news because the left made it bad. Things in reality are no different than yesterday. People in this country bought houses they could not afford, applied for credit cards they could not keep up with, SUVs with twankies they never even came close to owning. And when things got tough their lives imploded and they lost everything. Maybe they should have lived a bit more conservative instead of blaming bush.
mogul1265 3 years ago 2
Expecting people to take personal responsibility for their lives? THAT'S CRAZY TALK!!! The govt will save us don't you know. A trillion + dollar deficit must be good for something that Obama is promising. Taxing the hell out of those who made responsible decisions to save those who made bad ones will surely save us... right?
Yakko77 3 years ago
I PLEDGE to try and help my fellow man to stop giving a shit about what celebrities think! The self serving celeb community supporting a self serving celeb president. The one thing that qualifies these people as role models or spokes-persons is the same thing that got this nobody elected, "celebrity". No moral, economic, world or security policy, only the ability to stand on a stage and convince the masses to fall on their knees and worship the god of celebrity. Tattoo his name on your heads!

You people are fucking stupid. "To be a servant to our president."? Nope, wrong! He is our servant as well as everyone else in office.
Don't listen to these fucks. They have nothing in common with the "folk" of the uSA.
"using less bottled water"? Why would they want the "folk" to drink tap water. Do you people even know what fluoride does to people? (says the FDA)
How about serving the country, not a man. It's going to be a Germany repeat. Fuck these guys.

BrendaYaneth 3 years ago
We don't NEED the PRESIDENT to FEED the POOR people, DO we.
You're stupid. You're probably one of those people who like the word "change" because it's a nice fake word that really means "entitilement". People like you don't even bother to "pursue" happiness, you want a leader to tell you that it's alright to take hand outs. This is so unamerican you should just go cut yourself. Go kill yourself before you infect somebody else with your enslaved mindset.

hey mr. dawg:
you should pledge to respect yourself and others. if you don't have anything nice to say, keep it to yourself.

DrewDawg50 3 years ago
Yeah.. and what service will celebs provide? Getting uniformed people to follow thier political views? When you look to a celebrity for political advice thats pretty sad. These celebs are perpatrating a lie that Obama is change.. when he isnt. He wants more war, more wiretapping, more "Bush" policies, ect. I pledge right here and now to be an informed citizen who uses facts, not celebrity to make up my own mind.
mrycoffeetea 3 years ago 4
For 8 years Pres. Bush was preventing these morons from bettering themselves and doing good deeds around the world how exactly? I think it says a lot about their character and love of country (or lack of it) that they can now only muster the will to make these pledges now that Obama is President. I got a pledge too, not to support the careers of these idiots with my hard earned money.
