  • omg lol

  • booooooooooh!!!!!

  • 1:10 -> 1>14?

  • primus sucks!!!!

  • this is played with double thump technique, which is the thumb slapping twice quickly all right hand, but a good compromise i spose:)

  • Its actually this:

Thumb -> Slap with left hand on frets -> Muted Pop -> Slap with left hand on frets -> Repeat.

  • sorry no pal

  • @kraigus the only part in this song where he uses double thumb is in the solo after the first chorus. Sanit is right in his response.

  • This is a really hard song to play exactly correct, it sounded good but you shouldn't put it on youtube until you can play the whole song.

  • haha, you stopped at the solo. but seriously, that was really good, especially for a five string. Props man. skills!

  • Boring

  • good job

i like this song, i think i'm gonna cover it

  • you have to work on it... keep on trying ;)

  • Where was the rest of the song? You stopped playing at one of the best parts to play!

  • Thats pretty cool!

It sounds pretty tinny though, it needs more thump to it.

  • Rbx no good for slap!

    it's a reality!

  • rbx is plenty good enough, it's just da tone, eq and his style is up da putt.

Don't be afraid of fiddlin wit tone!

  • @ozric1976 theres a difference between HE DON'T SLAP GOOD

  • wtf skip the bass solo!

  • i suggest u should stop slapping like flea and keep your thumb more in a horizontal position it gives it a much better tone and looks better.

  • He has a point...and in that possition your open to another slap technieque = Double Thump.

Also real good for 5-string. PLaying that way will make you hit the low-B and waste energy muting it.

  • work on your eq a little it will sound way better

  • The percussive bass solo is easy:

"Thumb, l/h mute, thumb, pop, l/h mute, thumb"

Practise it...it be the "Machine gun sextuplet"

  • I am able to hit the notes, just not at full speed, I guess I will have to keep practicing and come back soon with another 'finished' video :)

  • How's it gone so far?

    Got it all down?

  • is bass harder than regular guitar? i want to start playing base when im done with regular guitar

  • *sigh* they are both completely different instruments...none are easier or harder.

Sure, bass is more single note played but that doesn't mean it's easier than guitar.

For one, it's more physically demanding.

  • Just watch some primus covers on youtube and you'll see what we aspire to be ;)

  • Thanks for all the comments so far.. I will upload a new video of it sometime soon and I will also upload a clip of my variation of it too. :D

  • Better than I could do

  • yeah....you started off playing the riff on the off beat which is why you missed the first "twidley bit". try to recognize which note he hits when and come in, or come in at the beginning in synchronization with the track

  • That was pretty good, although you missed a few parts (not talking about the bass solo.) Keep working on it and record yourself playing the whole thing one day. (You kinda left off before the really awesome parts.)

  • Yep, that's why you are able to hear it. Generally how it works...

    Gain & Treble turned up.

  • Very nice job, but you have to do the bass solo.

  • I'm working on it man. Building up the speed is my problem.
