  • Sorry guys but the P6 engine fitted to the E27N used all Perkins designed and cast parts including the sump. It was only the F3.144/152 engines fitted to the Dexta that used Ford castings. The P6 was offered as a factory fitted option or as a conversion which Perkins supplied.....later Perkins offered the L4TA and 4.270D TA conversions for the E27N.

  • i to have a e27n and other vintage tractor search 1mik122 to watch them please leave a comment

  • kilhamjim, well done finaly someone who knows wat he is talking about!!!couldnt put it better meself!!

  • Was this a original engine in Fordsons, or is the tractor converted to 6-cylinder engine

  • The P6TA "thats Tractor agriculture" was fitted to the E27N as original equipment if the buyer wanted a Diesel ,But if the farmer wanted to convert from Petrol/T.V.O. "parafin" .then Perkins suplied the L4TA engine as an aftermarket unit, Jim.

  • falsch der Perkins P6 ist komplet von perkins nix ford !

  • Perkins built the engines, but with Ford blocks (Ford claimed that Perkins blocks weren't strong enough!)

  • Not quiet right fella, the P6 in the E27N used a sump cast by ford. This was because the sump was used to carry the front axle and Perkins didnt make one. The rest of the engine is pure Perkins.Jim

  • gaw i loves these old forson p6s, best ever tractor !!!

  • the best sounding tractor ever!!!!look after it !!
