Thanks for doing this. These animals are so extremely slow, that crossing a normal road will mean an almost certain death. Unless of course, people like you help them. In the Netherlands we have special tunnels and bridges for animals to cross highways (that cross natural routes of animals). Too bad it's an impossible task doing the same in countries where animals need crossings like that much more.

10,000 thank yous for helping her. It is a herculean task for her to walk with a baby clinging to her. Sloths don't come down from trees unless forced to do so. They cannot walk easily--they are built for hanging and climbing. When the forests are thinned, they are the first to suffer for it.

That was very humane of you! You likely saved the sloth -- and her baby -- from being ran over by a car. They're obviously not the fastest moving mammals and that's probably what causes them to either get injured or killed.

I was Watching a documentary on sloths and I happened to hear that they are slow and very lazy because the less they move will make them less of a target to passing by eagles or other predatory birds because all they'll see is what appears to be a mound of dead flora and since their not on the ground very often they hardly encounter those predators, but that is said to be their most vulnerable time.
