hey eric u said that keep apart that high notes intensity trick from warm-up? why's thats and tell me okay suppose if i did warm-up rite now after how many time i am supposed to do that trick? plz tell me
Eric, I'm in a play where will be singing the part of a high tenor, and i'm a lead. I need to gain notes in order to comfortably sing the high notes properly. If you could give me any tips and exercises that will help me quickly increase my range It would help me alot thanks!
hey eric can you give me some plan how keep my voice in form all the time...and what i should do to my voice be healty....and how mouch i need do my exercise to develop my voice best...i dont whant to do on my hend and i waned advice from expert teacher....and i do not have soo mouch money to go on hours of singing pleas help me with your plan of traning voice....petar from croatia......and i do not now soo good english i think you understud what i waned to say.....
it's never to late.. I'm not much of a singer, but my voice improved in a month with doing his vocal warm-ups daily, so if you really like to sing.. why not spending each day 20 minutes on it?
hi well i have been singing my whole life but as the years went by my practice was fading i could definetly sing but once i hit the high notes it doesnt produce as well as it use to it cracks bad.... and advice???
ahh when i try to go from my head voice to my chest voice it always cracks in between like AHHHH and suddenly uhhh... does anyone have any advice? when i sing with my neck voice i can also go really high but its very airy and weak and sounds weird; please help!
My advice to you is to take Eric's advice! I think that he's pretty much covered everything that you need to do in order to reach your goals. Watch all of his videos. Don't struggle and don't push too hard too fast. It seems as if that's what you're doing. Just take baby steps and with time your voice will be as it should be.
what is a women suppose to do when she pray everyday for the lord to bless her with a voice so she could sing gospel and sing her own gosel songs she writes? is it possible the a person with no voice could e trained. I wanna learn so i could sing for n to lord. peace n blessings
I hope the Lord answers your prayers, and I hope in His Love, He will bless your efforts to develop your voice so you can use it to praise Him and inspire others.
Just practice all of Eric's lessons everyday. I am reaching notes now that i had not reached before. Sing in a choir to perform your voice. And post your singing videos so all of us can judge. Accept good and constructive critiscm. This will allow to improve in weak areas. Go for it!
@keykad09 You can do whatever you set your mind to man, just make that your main focus and keep pushing, and to answer your question, anyone can do anything

when i sing high notes im able only humm high notes but when it comes to pronounce the words my throat makes it hard for me to do these but my mother doesn't ever have problems and she has no tonsils i want to know
just something bugging me lately... um, how close or how far is the head voice register from what some call the "high mix"?
and while i know falsetto isn't really a register per se and is unintentionally used as a "crutch" sometimes - can head voice be that very same crutch or substitute for a high mix?

because im a guy in chorus and i sing Tenor 1 and Tenor 2. i use my falsetto a bit for other singing and sometimes, i get that tightening feeling in my throat like said in other videos.
is there any exercise i can do in order to free/loosen up my throat beforehand to produce a better falsetto? it gets really tight and all i can manage is a squeak.
i drink lots of water to lubricate my throat but phlegm gets in the way also. any way to get rid of that?

At the age of 16 i realized I strained my voice everytime I sang 'cause I didn't know how to warm it up. I've been doing your warm ups and for the first time in years I feel I can sing without hurting myself. And I sound great now. I just keep practicing and practicing using many of Eric's techniques. Awesome singer and trainer Eric!!, and thank you.
helooo sir! i will send my video with me singing. My problem is that my voice is very thin...please help me about this...i like RNB and POP music. thank you...
Eric, i have question that is really worrying me. Does youve singing ability/voice get affected if you have had sore throat for some time? If so, how? And after having sore throat, when should one begin singing seriously again?
From roosenti :p. I'd apprieciate it mighty if you could help me out eric
HEEEY ERIC U R AMAZING!! thank u soo much for these videos i practice them religiously haha but how do i get my voice to kind get more aggressive and grungy without straining my voice?
My Dad says young teens and pre-teens should NOT take voice lessons. Is that true? I watch your youtube videos as an alternative to singing lessons. My Dad says (I don't remember what they're called) you can get blisters in your throat (or your vocal cords and it screws up your voice forever if the surgery to remove them doesn't go as planned.) Should I continue to take he advice provided in your video lessons or am I putting my voice at risk for permanent damage?
Nodules and Polyps are calluses and blisters that can form on the vocal folds due to misuse. The risk of developing these conditions depends upon how the singer sings - not upon the age of the singer. In fact, if you are focused and can find a good teacher, I would highly recommend beginning now.
mmk.. ur AWESOME!! but wen u say "it will stregnthen the vocal cords" does that mean have a better sound come out or wat? and over summer i did these every day but now i dont have enough time to do them every day. usually i can only do them like 3 times a week. will this effect my voice at all?
Eric, the fact that you actually care about other peoples singing abilities, is inspiring. You shouldn't only think of yourself as a teacher that is helpful. But as a caring person, that is willing to take time to help the people that need. You truly are a good person ;)
Eric, can you please demonstrate the difference between head voice and falsetto? How can I know when I'm doing head voice correctly? And how can I make head voice sound suitable for singing rock rather than R&B?
Hi! Greetings from Finland! Eric, you are the man. Your lessons are very useful and you can explain things clearly without too much confusion. I love your voice and your vids. Just have to order your cd soon. Keep up the good work, bro.
hey eric you answered my question!!! (the last one) thank you so much, i had a few things on my mind such as that question but that video really cleared everything up and i think its brilliant that you take your own personal time out to help out other people, greatest guy ever, keep up the good work
You are sooo amazing. I have just finished 4 gigs for this week & I am vocally fine Man! all thanks to you & the way you tell it like it is! Open throat. Open throat. Open throat. I am still waiting for AA Aproach to come to my door here in Aus. I have a new MySpace please come & put you're lovely head in my friends space.... Thanks you, Thank you & thanks for this last You Tube post.
Eric you are awesome. I guess that is the link I was missing. Once I would do your workouts I would sing straight away. I never thought it would be important to build up to sining by doing some "do, Rea, Mi" type stuff. you are awesome. cant wait for your CD.
you've given us alot of helpful videos, but personally this one has helped me the most. It really answered some specific questions I had. Damn. I've been vocalizing a couple of minutes, once every couple of days. I knew I should do it everyday, but I didn't know it had to be 30 minutes. I now see I was nowhere near doing what I was supposed to.Thanks!
Hey Eric! I just downloaded your tracks, they're brilliant!
I use your CD along with other speech level exercises 2-3 hours daily (the sls ones for almost a year now).
You just said not to vocalize more than 30 min. daily, but an pro. opera teacher told me no less than 2 hours a day is essential. So if 30 min. is the most, what should I do all day? I'm crazy determined...
you should do a segment on riffs and runs together with belting! i have a hard time with "flex-uating" ^.^ and belting at the same time! the muscles in my throat tire way too easy!
Hi Eric. I am waiting in anticipation for your Teaching Cd to come in the post. I am rock all the way & you have helped me open my throat, check out my band perfect nothing. Thanks again
That's good news, but it sounds like training allows to access higher notes. What about lower ones? When I'm trying to sing, most of the time I can't reach the lowest one or two notes.
Thanks Eric. Your exercises really helped me. Actually, there are some that I don't even need to use anymore because my voice got used to the tone. Thanks again and keep up the good work
I am learning to sing on your video lessons. But I do not speak English well.
You will be able to listen to my video recording as I sing. and said board?

wen singing sometimes i use my jaw to help my runs along, is that bad? should i get out of that habit?
pernellcook0508 3 years ago
Yes. Simple as that. You don´t NEED your jaw for singing. Even if it´s not causing trouble YET, it´s likely to cause trouble later.
Eric says it in many of his videos: "Jaw remains still. NO JAW MOVEMENT."
BUT - that doesn´t mean the jaw should be locked tight in one position. It should be just disconnected. Sort of hanging slightly down, slightly back.

somtimes when i sing, my voice shakes. how can i tell the difference between this and my vibrato?
sandybfanx 4 years ago
um I think
maybe you're not breathing consistently
vibrato is a pitch changing technique using the vocal chords.
if you feel that your breathing or the amount of air going through is changing a lot or something and that shakes your voice that isn't vibrato.

My Dad says young teens and pre-teens should NOT take voice lessons. Is that true? I watch your youtube videos as an alternative to singing lessons. My Dad says (I don't remember what they're called) you can get blisters in your throat (or your vocal cords and it screws up your voice forever if the surgery to remove them doesn't go as planned.) Should I continue to take he advice provided in your video lessons or am I putting my voice at risk for permanent damage?
singingsmylife 4 years ago

I'm crazy determined...

you should do a segment on riffs and runs together with belting! i have a hard time with "flex-uating" ^.^ and belting at the same time! the muscles in my throat tire way too easy!

most singers use a third of their voice
...most peeps only use a 3rd of their brains
Save the world.
Love your vids...all the best for the future

That's good news, but it sounds like training allows to access higher notes. What about lower ones? When I'm trying to sing, most of the time I can't reach the lowest one or two notes.

Thanks Eric. Your exercises really helped me. Actually, there are some that I don't even need to use anymore because my voice got used to the tone. Thanks again and keep up the good work
