@Mikesean45 Nah come on. Jake and some of the other Australian animals had Australian accents. Why couldn't the humans? In Lion King, Aladdin and Hunchback they are all non-english speaking countries so converting them to British accents was to help with the translation to English. Australia is an English speaking country so they should have had the characters speak in their natural accents.
This movie is amazing but now that I'm older i realized its a very fucked up concept. kid rides a giant bird, the villain touchers children, there is a society of mice that are sent on rescue missions. Australia is very different from the rest of the world
OMG the movie I never saw the end to because I had to leave class while we were watching it in school. All because I had some dentist appointment or something. Dammit lol. As a sidenote, I used to ship Cody and Penny (from the first movie) as a kid. I was a strange child :P
I think The Rescuers Down Under is as good as The Rescuers, not better than, but as good as. At least it doesn't try to make the audience cry like the 1st one does.
This is my favorite Disney animated film of all time. Saw it in the theater when it was first released and it really took my breath away. McLeach is my favorite animated villian of all time. Jake reminded me of a cross between Indiana Jones and Crocodile Dundee when i was a kid. lol.
He does, McLeach had a great voice thanks to Patton himself and better animation. Do you remember the Christmas Tree Mcdonalds Ornuments? and did you also see Total Recall, Dick Tracy, Jungle Book re-issue, Ducktales The Movie, Jetsons The Movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ghost, Home Alone, Dances with Wolves, Back to the Future 3, Die Hard 2, Child's Play 2, Robocop 2, and Tremors in theaters like i did?
@Johnlindsey289 Yeah, George C. Scott had an amazing voice alright. I vaguely remember those ornaments and ,yes, i saw all of those movies in the theater back in 1990 too. I saw Home Alone 3 times and Back to the Future 3 about 4 times.
I love the Rescuers Down Under more than the first Rescuers movie. When I was little I didn't know there was the first one until the made the special edition box for the tape.
McLeach. He's a poacher and kidnapped Cody (the main character in the film, because he wanted to know where Marahute (the eagle) and her little eggs were.
Eva Gabor voiced as Bianca who passed away in 1995. I heard that a 3rd sequel was planned for 1996, but was cancelled due to Eva's death, and that really sucked!
Just a little piece of Trivia here. This is not on IMDB I discovered this myself. November 16, 1990 was the first time (correct me if i'm wrong) in the history of cinema that TWO movies staring the same actor were released on the same day. The actor is John Candy and the movies are: Home Alone & The Rescuers Down Under. This is an interesting first; a win win situation for John Candy (RIP), a win for FOX, but a weird day for Disney. Yes, this is a great 1st; I glad to point it out.
omfg, this video is so silent. i turned my speaker very load and suddenly someone send me a messeage by icq and it went like, A-OH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and im like, TWF AHHHHHHHHH... almost got a heart attack....
Bianca isn't as cute in the sequel as she is in the original ;) And I guess America's obsession with Austrailia in the 90's reached to Disney too, huh? lol
Dis is a 1-of-a-kind trailer 'cause it was a behind-the-scenes makn' of movie. D Oders had N RDU trailer along w/its precedn' 24 mn. Mickey Mouse featurette Prince & the Pauper.
Taken from 1990 VHS of "Peter Pan"

Why do Cody and McCleach have American accents?
rewster7 1 month ago
@rewster7 The same reason Zazu, Jafar, and Frollo have British accents in Africa and France.

I loved this video as a kid and enjoy the "behind the scenes stuff".
Your audio is too low and your icons in the corners are WAY to big, it so distracting.
