  • 'Air movers' - also known as fans :P

  • I remember watching this thinking he was gonna disappear or something... and I was disappointed

  • I haven't heard anything on D.C.in a long time.No new tv specials, he used to come to Erie but no more.

  • 2:29 OMG really

  • i don't even know what he really tried to do

  • dry ice makes sense, since the guy asks him if he feels light-headed when he collapses. common side-effect of exposure and/or hypothermia (less likely in this case since there's compensating heat, but you get the idea)

  • ...been about 4 years since I first saw this. Still waiting for the magic to happen...

  • I remember watching this on TV when I was 6 or 7. It was cool then and it's cool now!

  • wow! nice explanation, youre a really smart guy!

  • FAIL '-'

  • 0:40 "-I was in there earlier and that was ONE hot fire".

    Yeah, i guess he survived.

  • LIKE CARSON DAILY SAID I HAVE ONE WORD. BULLSHIT STUNT! (:>)

  • This one was done in the 2000s, the David Copperfield from the 80s and 90s wuld have never done something a dumb as this. It's almost like he felt he needed to keep up with younger magicians like David Blaine and Criss Angel and start doing silly "endurance stunts" like this. Next we'll start seeing him do tricks in the hood to ghetto people like David Blaine always does. I prefered the old Copperfield that as a showman and storyteller like Walt Disney.

  • @gothatway09 Hahahah i agree with yuo man really i do but you gotta admit the illusion is amazing though ! besdies david blaine is a STREET MAGICIAN and he has to targets all small societies in america to be popular, i dont see a problem with that !

  • @gothatway09 This was done in 2001, but he spent seven years preparing for it, i.e. he started the training around 1994. That's way before anyone heard of Blaine and Angel. David's reason for doing this was a childhood trauma he had when he was 6 and faced fire in his uncle's burning house. "I've been doing physical challenges my entire career, such as Niagara Falls and Imploding Building. They are good for magician's career. People tune in to see if you're going to live or die".

  • I DONT THINK DAVID COPPERFIELD NEEDED TO CATCH UP WITH THE OTHER MAGICIANS THE OTHER MAGICIANS SUCH AS CRISS ANGEL WOULD NEVER DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS CUZ THIER PUSSIES I THINK DAVID COPPERFIELD IS WAY AHEAD THAN THEM DAVID IS THE BEST

  • I was expecting him to vanish and turn up in the fire suit of one of the helpers. Anything but this shit, there's no magic here, it's just a stunt... and not a very good one either. Waste of time, even the presenter couldn't make it interesting!

  • If you open your 350 degree oven and stand on front of it for a full minute do you start sweating?

  • And he doesn't sweat come on I sweat @ 79 degrees fahrenhe

  • it all about science..

  • @dtjumperdin That is true, but you got to understand, magicians like Lance Burton, David Blaine, and Criss Angel recently have taken escapeology to new levels. Escapes now are more stunts than they are actual magic acts. David Blaine is a perfect example, though his acts are more tests of human endurance. Criss Angel and Lance Burton still practice the classic magical escape. This was one of these stunts that David Copperfield did to get the attention of the David Blaine fans.

  • @dickclarkfan1 i see, those guys you mention was great..

  • hey ive been wanting to know how this is done for a while now even if it is all science i really want to know how so if you could like message me and tell me even if u dont know the whole secrets just as much as u know would be very appreciated because ive been searching everywhere for months

  • @lookatthis9990

My theory: the 'smoke' they blow that is said to help him locate the center of the tornado is switched to dry ice, swirling inside the fire, neutralising the heat to the center in order to keep Copperfileld in a relative friendly temperature.

  • that makes perfect sense thats a really good explanation

  • that makes perfect sense thats a really good explanation thank you!

  • @H3rb3rtW3hn3r This wasn't an illusion, it was a physical stunt. The fire was really 2000 degrees, and the smoke helped him locate the center of the tornado, the only place where he could survive. If the fire had touched him, he would have died.

  • there is no magic here whatsoever.

  • It's al about chemistry and physics

  • i wonder what he really thoguht of that one?
