I thought Up was overrated. It's my third least favorite Pixar film, only ahead of Cars (which was dreadful) and A Bug's Life (which was mediocre).Upon my first viewing of Up, I fell in love with it. However, after repeat viewings, the adventure through South America felt tedious and dull and the humor felt more childish than any other Pixar film to date. Still, 2009 was an absolutely incredible year for animation. Fantastic Mr. Fox was easily my favorite animated film of the year.

Secret of Kells, Mary & Max, Ponyo and 9 were all much better than some of the mainstream nonsense (area 51, Astro boy, monsters v aliens, xmas carol) in this list.

uh... 9, the Secret of Kells and Ponyo were superior to many films in this list.. Princess and the Frog, nice film but very overrated, Disney trying to make up for some of their racist animated films, fails.. Planet 51 and a Christmas Carol, are you kidding? Coraline or Up should take the Oscar.. Incredible Mr. Fox was great! Go watch the films at the top 3, they are really worth it.
