  • Jump! You can make it!

  • 2:05 I am the more advanced model, Denton. It's time for you to retire.

  • @WilddogOfVRU Damn! Unatco doesn't offer a pension plan.

  • Lock and load. Anyone stealthing with this track on is an abject failure.

  • This was always one of my favorite tracks from the game, it made my skin tingle because I knew the sh*t was about to hit the fan in a big way.

Walton Simons, you're one ugly son of a b*tch!

One of the best games ever made! :D

  • One of my favs, definitely a "Shits about to go DOWN!" theme ... I was abit disappointed with the rest of Area 51's music after this.

  • dam i thought i would put the dx musics on YT but i saw they already are here!! damn.. oh well.

  • I found the battle music odd compared to the rest of the soundtrack. It's almost like it was made just for the boss battle with Simons.

  • i talked 2 the engineer......... omg! bald monkeys have been shooting laser rings at me!lol :)

  • I just got into Area 51 last night. Jock blew up. I knew about the odd Mechanic, of course. I killed the guy, but nothing happened because I didn't talk to Jock. So I load the quick save and think "Even if I kill the guy, its not going to change anything." I could have saved one more character, but now it's too late. I can't stop thinking "What a shame". :(

Oh, does killing DeBeers (the guy in the cryotube at Everett's) do anything substantial?

  • It annoys Everett, but that's about it. He'll scold you for it, but it's never mentioned again.

  • @MoralDeQue If Jock dies who flys you around?

  • @Ryoku75 SPOILER ALERT

No one, Area 51 is the final level.

  • @Ryoku75 He dies at the final level.

  • 3:19

"i am the more advanced model denton"

"its time for you to retire"

  • 3:21 my fav

  • Bob Page near.

  • the beggining sounds like some really evil sheme

  • well it kinda does, but still its nice.

  • This game fukin rulez!! "..I see your heart beating. I see you are afraid."

  • attack mode so sick i set the slow motion and battle walton simons and crank the volume up

  • such a militaristic and scifi feeling to this piece of art...

  • @Aelkamal Kind of like techno music, the movie hackers, and the movie fifth element!

  • @mtdewramen yup

  • "You take another step forward and here I am again, like your own reflection repeated in a hall of mirrors."

"That makes me one ugly son of a bitch, how'd my face get marked up with bioelectrics?"

"I am the more advanced model Denton, it's time for you to retire."

Deus Ex is a game in a class of its own, no one will be able to match it.

  • Haha, I always just blow up Walton Simons with a GEP rocket to the face the second I see him in the lab

  • Try and complete the game without killing anyone except Anna Navarre and without cheating. ;-) That'll give you a good challenge.

  • or better yet, try not to kill her.

it requires grenade jumping or something, i don't know.

  • Yeah I gave that a try, but it didn't work for me so I cheated and got past her that way.

  • Actually tried that with one of my friends before. We made a bet that we'll kill less than 10 people in the whole game (except for MJ12 commandoes because I don't think it was possible to knock those guys unconscious), and I think I only killed about 6 people or so (Manderley included because I just love to pay him back).

We did a similar challenge where we were not allowed to use more than 10 multitools in the whole game. Was fun definitely.

Those are on Realistic difficulty of course.

  • It is actually possible to knock out commandos, but it is not easy. You need to use the riot prod on them right where the "shirt" meets the "pants".

  • Wow. So precise?

  • ball busting? damn...

  • You can use the prod on the commandoes. Only 1 is needed if you position it correctly; the lower back.

  • Hmm thanks. I'll have to try that next time I play.

  • According to Warren Specter, its possible to complete the game without ever actually killing anyone or pulling out a weapon... its really difficult but possible

  • That's why Deus Ex is so great. Even something like this is possible.

  • In Specter's own words, he was tired of what he called the "Edward Gun-Hands" effect, where the player was limited to solving any and all problems in a game by either 'Find the Key' or 'SHoot it till it goes away'. He set out from the start with Deus Ex, to fix that and he succeeded, certainly in my mind, when I realised there was so much to this game, like the first time I discovered that you could save Paul from the raid on the appartment and he could survive the game

  • Yeah, the first time I played the game, I did so many things badly. I couldn't even save Jock.

  • First time I played, I'd just graduated from Doom and the whole idea of sneaking was a totally new concept to me. I only new first person games as interactive shooting galleries and the very idea of subtlety and interation with charicters in ways other than blasting them, was so utterly new to me back then

  • what?! so you're telling me the game was developed such that saving paul mattered? (meaning not glitched. glitched being even though you saved paul the story went on to assume him dead)

  • Yep. Why do you think that in the canon he survived? Cloning? The key is to NOT jump out the window, instead you go down fighting with him (oh, and you get to kill Anna Navarre in a whole new way)

  • I'm trying that run at the moment... sort of... I only use a crossbow - tranq bolts - a prod charger, and EMP/ SCRM grenades... of course with lockpicks and Multitools on the side... it makes the game seriously fun :P

  • @benkai343434 One time, the asshole you have to fight at the bottom of the missile silo (I can't remember his name) killed himself for me. I didn't even get to pull Justine (My custom upgraded pistol), as soon as he finished ranting about how there was no way I could stop him, he pulls out a LAM and throws it at me. It bounced off the side of the crane he was standing on and blew him into chunks. I laughed... a lot...

  • Simply wonderful, deus ex forever :)

  • one of the best games and music in history!!!

  • DEUS EX RULEZ 4 LIFE

  • This song rocks. The battle theme has a cool time signature.

  • These were very climactic Themes for the game and they were kick ass to me when i was a kid and they still are DX RULES!!!

  • pity the new 1s sorta ruin the series' name... playwise/music sigh

  • I never regarded it as a series. DX 1 was the only game worthy of the series and Invisible war was just a lackluster effort.

  • @Orumon27 I still liked IW, but yeah, it could've been a lot more intense . . . a lot. it also felt way too short. I think that's the problem with a lot of games anymore, they don't make them to last for a long time and the storylines are basic at best.

  • @KaraStarbuckNY A sentiment shared by everyone here.

  • @Orumon27 Is your opinion any different now that Human Revolution came out?

  • @McTatarka Haven't played it, eager to do so.

  • @Orumon27 Deus Ex Human Revolution just came out (like three years after you wrote that comment) so now there are two worthy games in the series

  • @1337Tazer It's pretty good game, but it honestly feels more like a reboot, no matter how much the stories are tied. Which is only natural I guess, considering the age difference. Not as good mission design in HR, imho, but the art is much better than the sillyness of the original.

  • Eidos + Deus Ex especially series Rules !!
