  • Yeah but give the man a fair go! It was not a core promise!

  • today we are worse off than ever from lazarus 11 yrs of fanatic IR laws to the mad monk the creator of workchoices and red sonya that talks out of arse sorry wax 07 that got thrown overboard like the children the cost of living is soaring a nation like australia with all the resources from oil gas diamonds iron ore the list goes on billions of dollars in wealth and the poor people are paying millions of dollars in taxes bills groceries for what to keep the fat cats happy at our expense wonderful

  • @walkabout09

I am to busy for this crap I have work to do. However it is interesting that you know what to do and where to go for treatment of mental illness. getting the required funding for your medicines. If I were needing such I am covered by private health care.

Take a Prozac and lie down a while you may feel better.

  • @walkabout09

    Obviously got no Job.

You must be afraid the centerlink payments may be cut to.

  • @walkabout09 DITTO you WANKABOUT.

  • @walkabout09Says Only after the last tree has been cut down, Only after the last river has been poisoned, Only after the last fish has been caught, Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten.

    Obviously on drugs.

  • @walkabout09 Your comment has no substance .

next you will try to tell me santa is true.

Ok so you are a moccosine wearing Labor hard left bogan.

Do you have a job did you have one over the past 30 years.

tell me all about that. Give us a clue as to why you feel how you do or are you just another Labor windger

  • @walkabout09 YOU TALKING ABOUT RUDD. ?????

    OR BOLLARD. ???

  • Wrong. John Howard DOES NOT lie.

RIGHT - John Howard was the best prime minister Australia has

    ever had.

  • @phileustace - You fool. Doesn't lie?? That is an absolute joke and to make a statement like that makes you look like a fool.

  • @piginasack

Phileustace is right. Johnnie Howard doesnt lie.

If anyone is a fool it is you ! The children overboard saga

was true. Those desperate muslims would try anything

just to scrounge off Australia's social benefits. And if you

think my views are the "minority view" then think again when

Tony Abbot wins the next election and Labor FAILS due to

their spine-less border protection policy. Australia needs less

immigrants and LESS Lefties like you .... fool.

  • @sebbbo77 - ‎"According Department of Immigration and Citizenship statistics, in 2008-09 an estimated 48,700 people were residing in Australia unlawfully and had either overstayed their visa or breached their visa conditions, by contrast, during the same period, only 1033 asylum seekers arrived by boat." Dr Peter Billings University of Queensland's Beirne School of Law. - But thanks for your majority xenophobic views. You help prove my point.

  • @piginasack .... I don't believe John Howard lied at all.

Infact if anyone lied it was Kevin Rudd who falsely assumed

that greenhouse gas emissions would be reduced and used

that as an election ploy only to turn his back on the very people who

voted for him. And you claim he did not lie? What about as Sebbo77

correctly says about the failed insulation scheme? How many lives were

lost? More importantly how many Australian born lives were lost and homes

destroyed -and you claim this is not a lie?!

  • @piginasack You are a joke Please tell me how many boat people come in 2006-2007.

  • @obaia - 2006 4 boats/56 people & in 2007 3 boats/25 people. Your point? And please don't make it a bigotted statement on 'too many boat people - look at it now' because you'll only prove the initial statement as true. It is a tiny minority of the overall illegal imigration. It was a political stunt. It plays up to the innate historical fear Australias have of the 'yellow peril'. If there really was a big illegal immigrant problem we would be doing what they are doing in Arizona USA.

  • @piginasack Do you ever wonder why there were only 7 boats in 06-07 and now they are coming in droves. When your wonderful Labor got in in late 2007 They unwittingly said "Gee there are no boats coming lets shut down Naru etc" So no deterant and the boats again come in droves. All they had to do was leave things as they were.

It cost 80,000 to proccess every detainee alone. There are that many coming now that they have to be put up in motels around Australia. At what cost to hard working Ausy

  • @obaia - Part of the reason that Nauru was closed was because as a country they did not sign the UNHCR Human Rights charter. Thats why the current government is looking for 'another' pacific solution that includes a country that has signed the charter. Seems a fair argument obviously designed to appeal to conservatives. Once again - why so much focus on those that are desperate to arrive by boat (minority), and not those (the vast majority) that arrive by plane?

  • @piginasack It worked up till 2007 Naru hasn't got much income. A detention center re opened would help them out. All the red tape is just bullshit.

  • @obaia - So signing UN agreements such as a Human Rights charter or the NNPT is 'red tape' & 'bullshit'? Thats why those of us who aren't right wing conservatives don't trust those who are, because underneath it all it a basic lack of understanding of human rights and how to balance that with an individuals choice. Not all red tape is bullshit.

  • IT WAS BEFORE THE 1996 ELECTIONS WHEN HOWARD SAID NOBODY WOULD BE WORSE OF UNDER A COALITION GOVERNMENT. ( NO WORSE OFF THAN THEY WERE THEN ( NO WORSE OFF WITH HIS NEW IR POLICY. had the vid run longer he also said YOU CAN BE A LOT BETTER OFF BUT NOT WORSE OFF.

  • What people do not realise is that under Hawke and keating . Real wages were cut by 28% in the 13 years. they were in.

Look up the Labor Accords. , wage freezes etc. Howard simply said in 1996. " under us you will not be worse off nor take home a pay cut.

  • What people do not realise is that if unemployment is low because the whole country is doing well. there becomes a shortage of workers.SUPPLY AND DEMAND determines all things naturally. If there became a shortage of workers demand would be very high and employers would pay more than award to get workers and to keep workers. Work Choices was desighned to do this. But it was not going to happen over night. Unemployment was at a 33 year low and Gov were looking at ways to pull this down futher.

  • @obaia - Wrong, the government was preparing for the upcoming GFC.

  • @piginasack WHAT PAGE ARE YOU ON.

Workchoices was designed to fight inflation, create jobs and make us competetive in world markets. Workchoices came out in 2006 2.5 years before the GFC Are you not aware that the above video was put out by Labor party in 2007 elections to discredit Howard so they could win an election

  • @obaia - You underestimate the foresight of your own beloved Mr. Howard.

  • @piginasack You underestimate what a pack of fools the present day labor mob are.

By the way if you are right into the big picture. Tell me how much Labor altered work choices apart from re naming it.

  • @obaia - Hate to keep to the arguement, but we're not talking about the present government. The current arrangement isn't much better, agreed. The prior system before Workchoices was a much fairer system. But for your information there are some differences between the 'Fairwork' set-up and Workchoices - go to fairwork.gov.au to find out.

  • @piginasack I have and there is not a lot of difference BUT however present labor got elected with the big speal that they were going to scrap it. NEVER HAPPENED.

The ACTU hammered voters that the world would end if it was retained. The prior system before Workchoices was put together in 1996 and worked well for 10 years but changes do need to be made from time to time. Inflation was creeping up. Hawke freezing wages for years didn't work.THAT CUT REAL WAGES BY 25% and was ok with the ACTU

  • @obaia - It was a fundamental difference between collective agreements and individual agreements. As an employer you could always choose to pay people above award, but there was a safety net regarding weekend work, holidays, unfair dismissal, sick pay etc. Workchoices in its 2006 amended form was dispensing that to give employers more freedom. Great for employees when times are good, ultra-shit when times are bad. Ask a cleaner in the USA who gets paid $5 an hour about their 'work' choices.

  • @piginasack You forget that times WERE extra good in 2006

and no sign of the GFC This unfair dismissal law was bought in by Keating gov to try to stop employers dispencing of workers in hard times. Stupid law (You cannot let go an unsuitable worker) was holding business back from employing people . When it was gotten rid of 160,000 extra workers gained a job. unemployment was down to around 2.5% But inflation was looming. tell me this Why should some people be paid 30% more for same 38 hr wek

  • @obaia - I don't understand the context of your question. Please clarify.

  • @piginasack Many years ago nothing was open on a saturday afternoon nor sunday. Those that had to work those days got time and a half saturday and double time sundays. Things have changed. Everything is open of a weekend from pubs to hardware.

a worker working 5 days through the week gets 5 days pay. A worker working 5 days including weekend days gets paid for 6.5 days. So is getting paid 30% more. To curb inflation this was a fair way to cut down the cost of employing people . more later

  • @obaia - Just as a quick point on "30% higher" - because our social fabric is built in a working week and a weekend. Once again, this is a 'philosophical' argument.

  • @piginasack It does not get away from the fact that people working a weekend get paid 30% more than those not working a weekend. As said when Gov had to restrain wages to fight inflation. Where do they restrain them. From those getting 30% extra for same hrs worked or Cut wages across the board. As said times have changed. All food outlets are open all weekend.Super markets. All those that drive up cpi.

The cost of living , driving inflation.

  • @piginasack Back in the 80's Bob Hawke Labor .froze all workers wages to try to curb inflation . This culminated in a drop in real wages by 25% for all workers. Do you feel that it was better to have all workers pay cut or those getting 30% more than others for doing the same work and same hours. Keep in mind Inflation errodes the pay packet .

In the Howard years Inflation averaged 2.5% and wage rises averaged 2.5% above that. Wages are a big part of costs in anything we buy cost of living

  • @piginasack OK round to you . What would you do to keep inflation at bay. Of coarse if wages rise costs rise. You are not looking at the big picture. just the worker and employer relationship. Were you around in the 80's when inflation was around 18% and interest on a bank loan was 23% I was. So the Labor Gov with ACTU blessing froze wages. And you feel that Work choices was bad. I was a working man with kids to support back then.

  • @obaia Okay, I like how this has moved on from a discussion on Johnny lieing to a discussion on workshoices, but lets have a go at this. Inflation around the world in OECD countries at the time was between 5-8%, Australias peaked at 12% in 1980. Before Labor were in power. These are CPI figures that removed artifiicial distortions like Medicare and National health scheme. Part of the reason real wages dropped post-wage freeze was the dropping in world energy prices...

  • @piginasack - and as a result Australias terms of trade. In fact, in real terms (adjusted figures) inflation in the 80's was steady and at a comparable rate to that in the 60's. Also, to claim that a reduction in overall wages would decrease overall inflation is a simplistic view and you would find that one hard to support, except perhaps for the most conservative of economists. A mining tax, for instance, may have a similar effect. Apart from a wage explosion in the mid-70's....

  • @piginasack .Fraser's negotiations with the ACTU saw him lose control of a wages explosion in 1982 much to Howard's and Treasury's horror. With his authority as treasurer being flouted, Howard considered resigning in July 1982, but he decided to "tough it out". The 1982 wages explosion—wages rose 16 per cent across the country—resulted in stagflation; unemployment touched double-digits and inflation peaked at 12.5% (official interest rates peaked at 21%).

  • @piginasack - wages generally followed inflation throughout the 80's, but although disappointing to economists at the time, in hindsight are seem as an adjustment period following the float of the Australian dollar. The 'wage' freeze was regarded by some as highly successful for growing employment and encouoraging growth. It wasn't an erosion of working conditions, it was a 'freeze', there is a fundamental difference. As for interest rates, I need to do some work, so let me get back to you! :)

  • @piginasack Very good But please start before the Whitlam years and work from there. 1970 onwards to get the big picture. 40 years is in the relm of things

  • @piginasack Interest rates. Very good But please start before the Whitlam years and work from there. 1970 onwards to get the big picture. 40 years is in the relm of things

erosion of working conditions ???? As said things have changed dramatically over the past 50 years. Working conditions don't suit today. Is it better to have some employed on big pay and all the conditions or all employed on lesser pay and conditions. ?

  • @obaia - Now even a conservative like yourself must surely think that you should always be gunning for the best wages and conditions for all, and the best balance of that? History teaches us that given the choice, some would employ slave labour if they could. Some people need protection from predatory, opportunistic capitalists. I also dealt with mainly the post-war era, to bring the 80's into context.

  • @piginasack Have you got the ABS figures on inflation yet

    Just wondering.

  • @piginasack The above Vidio if you look real hard. Is a beat up 10 years apart. The second clip is Howard Jan 1996 before the march 1996 election. Saying with a coalition policy wages will not be cut (like they have been previously under Labor) The first clip with a 10 year older Howard in 1996 says he cannot garantee every individual. Anybody can make what they like out of video clips. I can assure you a lot of people were a lot better off in 2006 than they were in 1996. Especially workers.

  • WHAT A PACK OF TOOLS BEING SUCKED IN BY THESE VICIOUS BULLSHIT ADVERTS BY OPPOSITION AT THE TIME. did this crap have anything to do with how Howard pulled Australia out of the crap from 1996 onwards. no. wake up people

  • @obaia THE ACTU adds were a lot worse.

  • rudd started lying big time at 11 years old when he told that shit about a farmer kicking his family off the farm but the tool had to admit the lie he isn't that fucking clever

  • Can your Prime Minister explain why there is a bunch of homeless people in the cities of your Country I guess not after I watch this video.

  • @v19d HEY DICK HEAD know any country that don't have homeless When Howard was PM there was record employment.

  • @obaia We had Bush in America where he decided at the end to screw up America. Wonder how unemployment very high occured.

  • @v19d Yes it was from the US melt down that Australia went down a little However Howard (Above) Took on a 96 billion Labor dept and High unemployment in 1996 and turned it around in 12 years to record employment and 22 Billion in reserve by 2007 but was voted out. The above TV advert was played by Unions Running up to the 2007 elections. amoung a lot of other scare tactics. At present we are in dept for 200 billion because of miss used stimulus. The Labor party threw out their own Prime Minister

  • how can a policy which attempts to push wages down not leave workers better off...

u cant have it both ways

  • @garnita0 YOU DON"T GET IT DO YOU

It was to curb rising inflation which cuts into your pay packet a lot worse, add that to rising bank interest because of inflation for those with a loan Keep in mind wages rose around 2.5% above inflation every year, over 12 years. RISING LIVING COSTS GETTING TO YOU RECENTLY

You decide what you would rather. Bigger pay and much bigger costs or lesser pay and lesser costs.
