  • Steroids DO NOT completely alter the psychology of a person. To say that Chris Benoit was a well adjusted man until he started using steroids is ridiculous.

  • @BronzeBullBalls Yeah. I thought consensus was brain damage from repeated blows to the head (look at all those german suplexes) that caused his mental issues

  • Bret was right

  • If Muchnik raises his eyebrows any more they'll fall off the back of his head

  • I thought it was Phil Mushnick that was the whole one man army against wrestling? Is this Irvin related to him or just some freaky coincidence?

  • @gowwe12 Yes and just like with fibro mialgia is a turf disorder that gets to be a made up scape goat. Read a peer reviewed article on steroids. Also vhris had holes in his brain from trauma but you never hear about that.

  • These reporters are ignorant and stupid when it comes to steroids... and a lot of other things too.

    Dumbasses

  • Steroids aren't correlated with violence... How do these reporters get a job?

  • @GAStayPosi Have you ever heard of Roid Rage?

  • @GAStayPosi Yes they are man. It causes a chemical imbalance and makes you go crazy at times. Think of a more pure P.C.P. Typical steroids that are perscribed from doctors for conditions such as lung disorders and that stuff are not the type of steroids they are talking about.

  • Not a roid user but there is no scientific consensus that steroids cause anything they said. A lot of those on steroids are on other stuff as well.

  • WWE has to end house shows

  • @blumpkin757 Nah they just need a better schedule.

  • i wanna see this leech muchnick argue with paul heyman or jim cornette...they will rip him a new asshole

  • @sayanroy36 Cornette is against steroids man, i dont see what your sayin. How could you condone steroids in WWE? Thats just ridiculous

  • @zzPinkTacozz37 I think he was talking about just about the business over all. Irv likes to poke at things and make the business I dont want to say look bad, but he dont help matters when stuff like this happens.

  • I have experimented with steroids and have friends who have used or occasionally use. You'll be hard pressed to find people who have any experience with steroids to say it made them hyper aggressive or made them experience roid rage.

Whenever you hear it, it's from people like this lady and this guy who has obviously never set foot in a gym..and they're always so adamant.

I'm not advocating steroid use. But as someone who has experienced, it's like listening to those ludicrous govt pot PSA's.

  • Atta boy Bret, who would know..the faggot wearing the glasses? The fat bitch sitting in a chair? Or a guy who wrestled for 300+ days a year for 30 years..

  • Chris Benoit was a killer inside and outside of the ring. True story.

  • I like how Brets just like "no...no...that's not it..."

  • benoit was murdered!!! wake the fuck up

  • I think Benoit and his family were murdered. Are we suposed to believe he sent two text messages at the same time?

  • @TheEvilHare I agree. There are some definate weird things going on with that case, no doubt. Im quite sure the police know all about it, but the problem is, they are not going to say benoit and his family were murdered based on a couple of weird text messages. But, i admit, theres a good probability that something else happened than what the police think.

  • Benoit could have been on antidepressants too! Antidepressants can cause people to kill themselves. Really nobody knows the whole truth about the death of Benoit and family. If you start believing everything the media says.... you are exactly the type of people the government loves.... fat, dumb, happy, working, and unable to use critical thinking skills.

  • It really irritates me to watch those in the media who are on the outside looking in because they maybe run a wrestling story every few years and when they do, they all of a sudden know everything about the business and about steroids. I do not agree with steroids but it is annoying to always hear steroids as the easy answer. Ex. British Bulldog. They always say steroids, but he was actually heavily medicating himself with pain pills due to landing on a trap door in the ring at WCW Fall Brawl 98

  • @HHHitMan23 Also, it's like Kevin Nash said in another interview about Benoit, alcohol was found on the scene. Alcohol is gotta be in the thousands of percent more likely to cause an act of violence than a dose of testosterone. But in all of the bullshit, not one bad word of alcohol was mentioned.

Don't want to make their sponsors angry. Also might make tonight's round of drinks a bummer.

  • @HHHitMan23 Maybe so, but that dude was all roided up too. I liked Bulldog, but he hit the juice and he hit it hard.

  • @edvhou812 Oh for sure he was.. especially when he returned in 1990 to WWE and he was one of the biggest guys they had.. But the amount of pain medication and anti-depressants he took were insane as well.. Too many great legends like Davey have all gone way too soon

  • It's not steroids! The cbc was the only media outlet that actually looked into this.

  • I heard that she had a sex addiction, who is she to judge.

  • both Nancy Grace and Irvin Muchnick are cunts

  • ecw was a demotion and muchnick is trying to make money from wrestling but slates it religiously. the guys comments to bret were ignorant and wrong and that dumb bitch shouldve let bret finish his sentence

  • This guy is a cunt. He has nothing, and is nothing. Bret Hart is correct, and has solid reasoning.

  • CNN really fucked up covering the Benoit story

  • @rakdos619 you should see what FOX did. They were horrible

  • I really want to know weather Bret Hart is a Liberal or a Conservative

  • @DDTphoenix

    Bret is Liberal!!

  • @Trustme77 you may have made the most intelligent comment about this issue that anyone ever has.

  • That bitch ain't Nancy Grace!

  • Well, turns out they were both right. Benoit had pretty serious brain damage and *that's* the likely reason for him killing his wife and kid, so Bret stating that there was more to it than just steroids was accurate. But Muchnik's right when he says that there's a problem with steroids in the business and that they cause guys to die early. Jim Cornette's also on the record as saying there's widespread steroid use in the 'E, and he would know.

  • As much as I disagree with WWE's non-response to steroids, this was not the case. This was brain damage. It could have been prevented or mitigated, but let's call it what it is.

Irv Munchnick is a leech who has made a career on offering criticism and conjecture simply devoid of any ideas on how to fix things. I simply throws rocks at others and then bitches when they don't repair the damage as quick as he'd like.

  • @MagnesDrachen13 they actually have a incredibly good wellness policy now

  • I hate peoples views on steroids, I have never taken them and never will, but the fact is they are not what is killing these wrestlers! And the media is so ignorant about it! Its the pills, cocaine, drinking, the uppers, downers, muslce relaxers, pain pills, and cocktail of drugs they take just to keep up with the wild lifestyle, Ultimate Warrior said it best, "guys are taking everything to make them look healthy on the outside while it makes them rotten on the inside"

  • @CheapJabroni Im just an avg guy. Graduated from university & went to work as an acct. In my young days, I've done coke, lsd, shrooms, alcohol binges, marijuana, ecstasy, & steroids.

Was just a part of the party scene in college. We took roids to stay big & bc it allowed us to drink & eat pizza without getting too fat.

I dont advocate drugs, but theyre all blown out of proportion in the media, save alcohol. I had a RX for hydrocodone for my back. That was only habit I had a hard time kicking.

  • @CheapJabroni Eddie Guerrero died from an enlarged heart caused from steroids and i think brian pillman too. A guy i used to go to the gym with is actually in the hospital right now with a fucked up heart, most likely brought on from steroids. He's only 29 yrs old

  • @Robbadorfus Pillman died from OD'ing on pain killers. He'd been in alot of pain since he had his ankle fused due to a motercycle accident.

  • @CheapJabroni Steroids are perfectly safe but painkillers are dangerous? Um, no. Any drug used in excess is dangerous, including painkillers AND steroids.

  • @Trustme77 marijuana is not directly dangerous at all in any quantity.

  • @guthzilla You're right, and I shouldn't have made a blanket statement like that. When I say painkillers I don't mean pot, though, I mean pills and shit.

  • @Trustme77 I see. i also agree, it is best not to play with that shit.

  • @guthzilla but c'mon, who REALLY considers marijuana a drug among the rest? =]

However, I could argue that if smoked all day, errrryday, it could lead to some severe lack of motivation...

    But I'm not gonna xD

  • Watching this stuff now, years later, still annoys the shit out of me. The media were a fucking disgrace, the way they covered the Benoit tragedy

  • Oh wow that women knows absolutely nothing there is no difinitive link that has ever been medically proven between steroids and aggression, and unlike what she said about studies there have been very few studies ever done on the effects on long term steroid use on human beings. Also "Roid Rage" was not a medical term it was first coined by bodybuilders themselves. Not the medical community. Lets not forget the thought on Chrs's actions is now that numerous brain injuries caused his mental state.

  • Pretty much been proven he took way too many hits to the head that caused him to snap. Not roids.

  • @Swazi4 Benoit's father said that Chris admitted to him that he'd taken steroids, I think it played a factor but I wouldn't put the blame on just "he took steroids so it made him kill his Wife and Son"

  • My understanding of Roid Rage is that it happens in a flash and more or less goes as quickly as it comes. So punching a wall, or breaking something would make sense. But killing your wife, then 24 hours later killing your son, then 24 hours later killing yourself?

    That's Brain damage.

  • @GrassValleyGreg True, but A wrestler has said he would kill both Benoit and his wife.Google it.It might have been 10 years ago,but why would the guy do it then wouldn't they suspect him?Stupid Investigators did not look at anything they just "ASSUMED" it was Suicide/Homicide.

  • @VTorrentVideos

That was a hell of a frame-job said unnamed wrestler did lol.... I think they saw all they needed to see at the crime scene- this really seems pretty cut and dry to me.

  • ITS NOT NANCY GRACE first off and yes steroids are a contributing factor not a final factor but a contributing one for sure, any drug is even alcohol...

  • its stupid how these journalists know what's going on when has nancy grace ever been a wrestler? none of these people know except the wrestlers......bret hart will make nancy grace tap out!!!!! EXCELLENCE OF EXICUTION

  • Roid rage doesn't makr you kill your wife and child.

  • With a name like Irvin Muchnick, how am I supposed to take him seriously?

  • whats wrong Irvin, looks like there is toothpicks holding his eyelids up

  • he was demoted!!! going to ecw the worst piece of shit league!!! losing to cena and lashley, tapping out to john cena a wrestler of his cabalier what a disgrace!! and to top it all off losing the wwe title to a punk like orton after working 16 yrs just to get it!! he was fucked by vince and wwe and that made him snap!!! thats what happened people!! Wake up!

  • Bret was proved right

  • It's funny how the one who's done steroids is the calm and reasonable one here. Oh and Davey Boy Smith died from legal prescription pain killers not steroids.

  • FUCK the media!!! Steroids are not like that!!! Please, when will this ever stop?!?!?! People should do their homework on steroids instead of bashing ´em like theyre were something ordered and injected from the Devil himself!!

  • that girl is a fucking dumb shit, just like every other girl

  • to talk about owen and the bulldog like that while bret could hear what he was saying was disgusting bret's face told the story

  • That's how u know Bret is a sweet hart, I'm surprised he didn't get all upnin dudes ass, nut he stayed calm. They need to get on his team. Obviously, that guy didn't know what he was talking about! I mean why incorporate owen into the convo. If he would have said perfect n bulldog then their would have been an understanding, he needs to be smarter with what he says.

  • Benoit had several cocussions, that led to extreme damage to his brain. Thats more likely to be the case than steroids alone. Steroids doesnt make people murderers, but if the guy thats taking them are almost demented due to injuries and lead a difficult life i am sure they wont help. But steroids alone didnt make this happen.

  • @ChrisTheCoyote you r absolutely right..i mean,he used to headbutt people off the top of the steel cage...i am sure there was exstensive damage done to his brain..like you said, steroids just added to the dementia

  • Bret Hart is right, steroids may have taken a part in Benoits death, but definatly wasnt the full cause, it was other things that led to it

  • The lifestyle the wrestlers live it was causes their deaths. Is that wwe's fault. Yes, because they push things to far. When a wrestler has to take drugs to maintain their image theyre expected to have, things have been pushed too far.

  • Yah I think there is a real misconception about steroids too. Sure it can have detrimental effects to the human body and mind but that is when it is frequently abused. I don't know what Chris Benoit's habits were like in that regard but claiming that he did what he did simply b/c of steroids is quite a reach. I think there was more to it than that. Unfortunately we'll never know what was going through CB's mind but blaming steroids is kind of an easy answer for the motives to this tragedy.

  • who thinks the flying headbutt move could have caused these mental problems.

  • This "journalist" Irvin Muchnick is a cunt...

  • Nancy Grace always was and will be a self important bitch plain and simple. She has made a carreer talking out of turn dealing with things she knows nothing about. What does she know about roid rage other than what she has read? Hart himself has admited to using steriods in different stages of his runs not to mention the other 85% of his collegues. I think he knows alittle but more about roid rage then either of the two, from Nancy Drew to the Mongoloid looking fellow.

  • This irvin guy said davey boy smith died of steriods. Didn't bulldog died of painkiller over dose? isn't paninkillers not steriods?

  • its a fact that people who are on roids become insane after a certain period of time

  • bigaaronrice 100% totally agree theres alawys underlying issues that are the problem just like eddie brovo has said weed doesnt make u dumb u were alreay dumb weed just makes u look dumber

  • this wasnt steroids he was on something else...their is no such thing as roid rage

  • even racing horses turn kinda crazy with steroids, if used in a long period of time!

  • Comment removed

  • he dead u idiot

  • other than this incident he is my hero

  • Head trauma is more likely i'd say

  • well said Bret Hart, I mean millions of people use steroids 24/7 all over the world and in how many cases does anyone know of,that someone commited a crime killing someone because of that?

Now how many cases do we know, how people turned violence while drinking alcohol and killed people? bar fights, drunk drivers???? I do not know any case where someone commited a crime, because of steroids. I should know this, I work in a ER in one of the top hospitals in the country, how pathetic baming on roids

  • journalists don't know anything they blow their mouth around and so busy trying to interrogate and find some type of snesationalism that it miscontrudes everything

who are they to doubt Bret

The man has been in the business he knows friends and collegues who have taken steriods he is a lot more credible than these so called doctors on these discussion shows

  • @muratshawn yes totally agreed bro!! u can jst ask dem name 1 scientific study conducted 2 bak dese claims n d answer is ZZEERROO!! yh steds do cause minor reversible side effects like hair growth testicular atrophy n decreased sperm production bt all dese oder things r plain crap!

  • Is Irvin Muchnick in any way related to Phil Muchnick?

  • No I don't think they're related but both seem to think that pro wrestling is the ultimate evil in our society. IMO they're both out for their own agenda and are complete douchebags

  • R.I.P Nancy, Daniel and Chris Benoit.

  • Benoit is burning in Hell!!

  • Bret said it very well. No way Steroids play role in chris benoits death. benoited tested negative in drug test.

  • ty so much 4 that 411

  • lets face it, benoit's marriage was already downhill, and i'm sure it caused the man to snap. don't give me "his brain was screwed up" garbage. benoit was able to wrestle elijah burke, fly home, visit his doctor, kill his wife and son, and text chavo a lie. bob holly stated in his shoot that he spoke w/ benoit on wed., two days before the murders and said that he seemed normal and nancy and him were having problems.

  • why is nancy grace such a rude bitch, let them talk damn it

  • The host is not Nancy Grace. The woman hosting the show is a fill-in for Nancy LOL

  • @crackapie this wasn't Nancy Grace, it was Jane Velez-Mitchell hosting in Nancy Grace's time slot on HLN. She is an even more shrill bitch than Nazi Grace, if that's possible.

  • @crackapie nancy grace is a cunt, but this isn't her...

  • @officialvangcreative oops.. nevermind, i couldn't recognize her through all the reptilian shape-shifting pixelation*

  • is this idiot related to phil mushnick...'cuz that dork has been known 2 HATE wrestling and ANYTHING wrestling-related?!?!

  • No, no relation.

  • man jane valez is so damn sexy

  • Steroids are one small issue here. The real issue is Benoit's mental health, his personal life and his ability to cope with the stressful wrestling world. Steroids on their own do not transform someone into a mass murderer. Saying steroids did all this is like saying alcohol made the normally non-violent, mild mannered man beat his wife and children. The problem lay somewhere in Benoit's psychology. Steroids is a total non-issue here.

  • bro his brain was fucked up his brain was in the spaep of a 70 year old man with alztimers watch death grip on pro wreastling

  • What does that have to do with steroids? Steroids don't radically alter brain chemistry or cause someone to develop alzeimers. Whats your point here exactly? Bret Hart himself took steroids during his time in the WWF. I don't know, he looks pretty calm and collected and normal to me. Why didn't he self-destruct?

  • i understand your point about steriods but Bret Hart didn't really take them that long he never developed a habit of being dependent on it he stopped around the early 90's the last days of being in the Hart Foundation before the Hogan/Vince steriod scandal.

Bret said in his autobiography he didn't like taking them he took steriods one time and threw up the rest of the night

  • I agree. Good comment.

  • Nancy Grace is an rude host. Stupid cunt. Bret was right on in what he said. Many people around the world takes steroids, not just wrestlers. He may feel protective of the business to an degree, (afterall he gave his life to it), but he is still telling the truth. I hate how the media always tries to look down on wrestling, and degrade it, but Bret is an very intelligent man, and puts these people in their place.

  • reporters today are dumb and one minded which is one of the reasons why mainstream journalism in the US today is going down hill it is no longer about reporting the story all that matters now is ratings and headlines

  • Lol, the funny part is, that roids are mostly takin' by dudes, who flex and work out in the gym. That whole thing, that steroids poison someone or make him insane is just completely ridiciolous! If this would be the case, you would have to fear every muscular dude, who boosts his training with roids (and believe me - there are many of 'em).

Whatever made Benoit commit this horrible act, has less or probably nothin' to do with roids. If this would be the case, how dangerous would alcohol be?
