The Cobra is definately faster around any medium-large size track for sure.. I wonder how this battle will turn out around Tsukuba? I own both the '66 Cobra and the Caterham Fireblade and I just cant stop driving the Caterham. I notice everyone changes the gears on it but I LOVE the Hayabusa gear box. It has crossed gears 4,5 and 6 and its a blast to drive in the game!

Out of ALL the cars on GT5 the veryy VERY last ones to go would be my '66 Cobra and my '97 Supras. The Cobra is 620hp, supercharged, stage 2 engine, stock 4 speed (how are you going to swap transmissions on such a classic???).. thats my show-off/drift car. Drifts on sports hards like most cars drift on comfort mediums! One Supra is 725hp, GT wing and stage 3 engine for racing and the other Supra is 540hp, stock engine, stage 1 turbo and stock wing stricktly for drifting.

This was filmed almost a year ago, and it wasn't even fully tuned. AND it was on a DS3.

Well no, it's not. To be honest, I don't have to prove myself to you, but those cars are twitchy when tuned and are hard to control with a Dualshock. And again, this was out a year ago so... If you really want I can tune a caterham right now, lap it and post the video.

I don't believe your Caterham is tuned to it's full potential. With the tune I have on it and modified in the correct order, I pulled 255HP and 140ft-lb of torque (19.4kgfm). And on Top Gear with the same settings, I did a 1:10.206 with this awesome machine.

I had just got the game and I was using a controller back then. I can set faster times in both of them now, but that Cobra was no where near fully tuned, but I couldn't get the suspension set up for the Cobra when it had full power.

You spun alot of the caterham's power out. I've done the top gear test track in 1.10.5 in the caterham.

the cobra won that because of higher torque, even though the caterham has a better power to weight ratio, (slightly). even so i love the caterham and i would have that over any American muscle car :D

Okay. 1st thing, these cars were tuned. Yeah the Cobra has a lot more torque as it's a V-8 and the Caterham has only got a high-revving motorbike engine. If they were not tuned, the Cobra would have won by even more because the Caterham doesn't even move.

Also, the Cobra is as much British as it is American. It is as British as any TVR.

@TeamLotusGT5 okok, geez ... i didnt say teh Cobra was bad, i just gave my views and your right that it is british (ACR) (apart from the "Shelby" written on it) but even so i still prefer the Caterham.

Well if you want to be specific, the Rover engine that was used in the Griffith and Chimera was originally a Buick engine... So yes, even TVR's used American engines.

What do you put as the max speed on the gear box for the caterham? I realy need to know as some of my starts are quite slow (i have 140-something at the moment)

Yeah but the caterham is so light the power to weight ratio balances out the lack of hp

hi again, I have completed the campervan special event but yet can't find the top gear test track on practice mode or arcade mode-this is intensely irritating!

You have to complete the Top gear challenge beginner 1st.

You only need bronze (9th place) in a campervan race

I LOVE the Shelby.. I always give those import kids heel when I drag race at Stage 7.. The Caterham is good as well! Too bad it isn't a premium car..
