so what exactly is the control in this video experiment , I know you used the same flashlight brand which you prob went to the dollar store to buy. Here's my problem with this experiment these flashlights obviously deviate in materials lens thickness , metal , including the contacts. Those flashlights although looking very similar could be very different , infact the reason why they ended up in the dollar store in the first place .
@KIKOSUAVE The only concern here is the voltage rating of the bulbs and how long those batteries can make those bulbs stay lit. The other crap you mentioned is irrelevant and questioning the electrical contact points is like questioning the quality of the battery itself. You moron! Think before you speak!
@Blitz4000 I find it funny and curious that the same experiment done multiple times have different results. But Blitz4000 seems to know the voltage of the batteries & voltage rating of the bulbs, the composition of the flashlights and batteries . He must work for the heavy duty brand. Prove me wrong, then talk , two comments down duracell lasted longer for @zmubi. Speak when spoken to.
@KIKOSUAVE Well, if you're smart enough, which I highly doubt...you would know that the conditions on how the batteries were stored, handled, and the freshness will have an effect on its performance. Overall, the battery brand that can last longer on average compared to others can be concluded to be more superior. Energizer and Duracell in this case. I suggest you quit trying to look smart, it is really pathetic.
I just bought Duracell AA for my mouse-I play Company of Heroes and need long lasting batteries. I went through 10 pound store AAs in a month. I attribute all my COH losses to AA failure and having taken an arrow in the knee on my way to buy the batteries. Does anyone have a similar story?
They're sold at Home Hardware, and they are total garbage! They last about half of what the Duracells do!! And they leak when they are dead! The company (Ray-O-Vac) boasts that they last as long as all the other major brands. However--you have to mail the old batteries to the USA for warranty. Are we going to spend $10-$15 for a package to the USA to get $5.00 worth of refund? I doubt it.
The Energizer Industrial batteries are really good batteries but I don't think you will find them at Walmart or other stores.I would like to see how long they lasted in your test.Good video though. But the carbon zinc batteries will never last as long as any alkaline.Did all of these batteries have a fresh date on them?Just curious.
There are some major factors that are being over looked here. First you need to make sure that all the batteries have the same freshness(ie.. same manufacture date). You also need to understand that the Heavy duty is not the same type of battery as the other brands, Heavy duty batteries are usually Carbon Zinc or Zinc Chloride. Carbon Zinc/Zinc Chloride batteries are a lower chemistry than Alkaline and never will perform as well as an Alkaline battery.
I am doing something similar to this project for school and was wondering the out so i searched some videos and it turns out my prediction was correct energizer is the best

Holy smokes, the Kirklands did pretty dam good.
Did you buy all those batteries at the same time?
Results may be different depending who the suppliers are for the Kirklands.
Who knows, the AA Kirklands used to be relabeled Duracells but I heard rumors they changed suppliers. Both are made in the US.
All I have for comparison are the AAA kirklands and duracells and they look different looking at the positive and negative side of the batts.

There could be dozens of other variables for this test but its a science project, not a complete research and development analysis.

Not an excellent test...because some batteries are made to last longer(use less power) and some are to use more power(last longer).

I guess Heavy Duty is several times cheaper than Energizer batteries. Did you calculate price of 1 hour working for different battery brands?

Kirkland is made by Duracell, and the heavy dutys seem to have about as much intensity as the song "Heavy Duty" by the band Spinal Tap.

PS: I've noticed that the Rayovac has a much brigher and bigger light. Did the bulb (perhaps) draw more amperage??
