I have one question what country do you live in? the reason why I am asking is because your steering wheel is on the opposite side and so is the trafic
people tend to tail gate because it saves milage/fuel because the wind is just going over u, also they tail gate because bad weather=) but i agree it is NOT safe cuz the 18wheeler can slap on there brakes due to a front accident & the it will be just a nasty accident
I am a truck driver myself. It is true about you saving the gas, but for your own safety I would stay back, if we blow a tire it may just save your life to stay back. I have seen a tire blow and cause damage that you wouldn't believe. I've seen tires bend ICC bumpers and tear floors out of trailers. Or even fly through wind shields. So please folks for your own safety, stay back a bit for you and your family's sake.
I may piss and moan about 4 wheelers but some of the truck drivers out there now are no better. Some of these guys cry like babies if they have to do a tough dock that 6 other drivers with longer trucks just did fine on. They can't fucking change their own headlight/wiper blades. They don't know how that truck really runs. Trucking used to be a profession and I was proud to do it as it is a dangerous and vital job. Now I'm off the road and I'm glad. Too much BS and mistreatment from government.
the last time some one tailgated me i hit the jake brakes and downshifted as low as 8th gear because i was gettin pissed off at the 4 wheeler doing the tailgating. i watched one trucker lock up the tandems on a 4wheeler due to tailgating.
as a truck tailgater, I do look for signs of frustration from the trucker. I drive an old suburban otr many hours and save hella gas drafting. What are you doing making a vid and driving anyways.lol.

Oddly enough, just a few weeks ago, the 18 wheeler I was driving was rear-ended by an 18 wheeler another was driving. He was injured. Truckers could do better too.
Ron, I for one would love to see drivers better informed about the dangers of driving around big trucks. A massive ad campaign by the NTSB or ATA or whoever is long overdue, will it happen, probably not. All we can do is our part and watch out for them. It is hard to teach someone common sense. Take-Care

Dang, I thought you were in England or somewhere drivin on the wrong side.
I'm glad you straightened that for us.
I wonder, do they drive their boats from the left side in England?
It's no wonder why we kicked those red coats ass, they're always on the wrong side of things!

Thanks for this, whilst predominantly common sense, alot of folks seem to lack in the small change. ;) Forwarded to a few of my driving pals.
