  • I'm eastern NC born and raised myself. Fifty year old woman and I can tell you not one pig picken, church cookout, family get together did we EVER have vinegar cole slaw. It should be mayo with sweet pickles , a little milk to make it moist and a little bit of sugar, like 1/4 cup for a whole head of cabbage..I like "marinated slaw" but it's NOT Carolina style. You pile it on top of bbq sandwich. Sweet of the slaw with tangy of the vinegar sauce..yum..

  • I am from San Diego and all through my childhood i visited my grandmother in Wake Forest where i experienced N.C. barbecue which is in its own class. Parkers, Murrays, Bills,  and many others. I always craved this and now at least attempt at my house. Thanks so much for the videos Mike.
