lol ive tried theoriginal its so hard because every thing sounds off tune (Due to the lack of sharps and flats), and you cant really eccentuate any bass line or trumpet (flower) line in the melody because you can't have more than 1 thing. It's also hard to develop an epic sound because only 3 notes per line. The tempo is not a problem if you don't do wicked fast songs and are amazing at this like axel lol

I personally am sort of like one of those people. I've got nothing against mario paint composer, I just prefer to see a video made in mario paint because some people go so far from mario paint (instrument packs) that you might as well just be writing it out in any midi program.

stacking notes= placing one note on top of another to play different key signatures simultaneously, or to achieve dynamics in a particular spot (although I am not sure if it actually works because I have never tried).

They might overlap a bit if they are adjacent notes (ex. G and A) but no 2 instruments were on the same note and beat. That works on the original Mario Paint so I did it.

Hey next time you want to use a composer using mario paint limitations there's one called mario sequencer, I haven't used it but it functions are the same to the original mario paints composer. No sharps, no flats, no extreme speed, no high notes I don't think you can stack notes. For anymore information... GOOGLE ^_^

one thing is that you don't want him to use cats or dogs and stuff, thats what makes mario paint fun, not all the serious symphonic stuff, but the chance to make some songs sound cool but a little wacky at the same time, which goes hand in hand with the switching instrument thing, it's just fun

1) Using the Mario Paint ROM is not completely legal.

2) Some computers aren't good enough to capture footage from an emulator! Mine sure as hell isn't, does that mean I'm not allowed to do ANY compositions?

3) Some songs sound like ass in C Major. What if they have minor key tonality? You're pretty fucked then!

Consider me another supporter of the composer, not JUST because it's 100% legal.

Oh, oh, another point: Why do you think the original Super Mario theme isn't one of the standard tracks in MarioPaint and instead turns into the Super Mario World tune? Because it has accidentals.
