i have a 4.2 oz bottle, 90% full, no box yes cap, non tester. would anybody be interested in swapping? (open to everything, this ones alittle mature for me)
I love your reviews.I have a question about angelman.I actually had a sample and the top notes sucked, but once it cooled down it was a great cologne.I was wondering if i only have money for one either the angelman with the blue star or the limited edition malt. thanks
Rive Gauche indeed is a Older man's cologne... It is indeed for the older crowd but anyone can wear it if you like it! Now when I first sniffed this the first thing came to my mind was my childhood when i was 5 or 6 being with my grandad, one of his signature scents was Brut! I use to love the smell of Brut, I dont so much now... But that is what Rive Gauche smells like, Brut mixed with Barbasol shaving cream! Its not a bad frag by any means. Just try before you buy!
you should try mydnafragrance (dot) com i'd really like to see a review on that before i buy it... its a fragrance that you send your DNA in by a swab to the cheek and they formulate a cologne or perfume based on your DNA blueprint.
ihpmg - I own both actually. And kind of regrettably as well. The H.M is much more tolerable to my nose. The Rochas, wow, the Rochas: It's quite cloying. I can't even spray it once without acquiring an unpleasant headache. Even though Rochas smells nice at first (but very strong) it can be waaay over the top. DEFINITELY test any gourmand out before you purchase. I made that mistake. H.M is doable for me- quite lemony slash chocolaty. And the Rochas- full on gourmand with coffee.
for Rochas I spray only once at my neck's pulse point. H.M I spray two on left and right sides of the neck.
IMO if you have Rochas Man and Hanae Mori H.M you can skip on Angel Men, Dior Homme, and Fresh Canabis Santal. If you have the money and want the ultimate gourmand fragrance then check out New Harleem by Bond No.9
I prefer the Rochas Man and HM combo if I were to buy two gourmands.
Hey Tim. You did both H.M. by Hanae Mori and Rochas Man. I was wondering which the two do you prefer. I smelled both of them on testers about twice now. I wasn't sure which one to buy. Would like your input. =)
Good goin'! Props, man! I think it was cool you plugged the Basenotes website--I'm a regular there. Hope you will hang out at the forum and post one day if you don't already.
yet again nice vid please keep it up! Smelt this one at the store the other day and i gotta say i wouldn't recommend this for young people as as its got an Aramis feel about it. Haha Morristhemoron, im dieing to get my hands on the Eau Faiche but in the UK its hard to find :(
yo tim! whats up! this is a great review btw, but i was commenting saying that i bought Versace Man Eau Faiche and i FREAKIN LOVE IT! i mainly used your top 5 summer fragrances vid to help me chose. and this stuff, including most of your other stuff you reviewed aren't "highschool" scents, which is kinda good to focus more on the "higher quality" fragrances. and dont get me wrong, i get comments on the versace man a ton and im only 16 lol. im on the road to victory, thanks to you bro!
I just stumbled upon your cologne reviews today. I've been watching a bunch of them and I just want to say they are great for someone who doesn't know a whole lot about fragrances. I now have plenty of choices to look forward to when buying my next colognes. Thanks.
I am a Basenote reviewer and i do enjoy listening to your opinion on these videos.
One fragrance i would like to hear your opinion about and im sure you own is Le Male by JPG. it has very mixed opinions, i would like to know your take.
dont listen to those bastards!!! if you were paid to do this you would be forcing us to buy and you dont...your just honest and you love reviewing the fragrances....and anyone who hates on tim for no valid reason including all you base notes bastards...go sit in a corner because you are tired :)
ohh lol i see. anyways great job with all these review man. and i also have a question: im thinking of buying a new every day cologne and im thinking about getting Chrome Azzaro. would you recommend it?
and if you can, id like to see a review for Mambo by Liz Caliborne
Mugler - pronounced "mewglurr"
T is silent in Laurent
Rive Gauche - "reeve go-shh"
Anise - "A Niece"
Geranium - "jer-A-knee-um"
Vetiver - "vet-E-vair"
Guerlain - "Gr-len"
I'm not gonna bother with the rest

A must-have for fragrance lovers ! Fantastic scent... It is also really cheap... and it also comes in a huge 125 ml bottle.

I know your not getting paid for your personal opinions. Some people are just to quick to judge and their usually wrong.

I'm a basenotes member, and Tim's pretty right; a lot of the people on the forum definitely have some "refined" tastes.
Rive Gauche: expensive barbasol in a can. very masculine and very clean, but personally, a little too old for me.
Hit it on the head when he said "old school"

Epic record in the background, man. Their best by far. A HIGHLY under rated band and a highly over looked song writer.
