My kids tell me it is much easier to get pot than beer or cigs, and why wouldn't it be? No cashier to card you. There is some merit in "legalizing" it, which really means regulating it. Right now it is prevalent, despite the fact that it is illegal. The fact that pot (unregulated) is easier to get than beer and cigs (regulated) gives me pause. Maybe legalization makes sense. I'm not one to say weed has BENEFITS of any kind, but at least it's not physically addictive like cigs or alcohol.

Addiction isn't a basis for prohibition, or they would need to prohibit chocolate. Chocolate, nicotine, caffeine, and a number of other very legal substances are far more addicting than pot.
If I were going to protest alone. I think I'd take my stick and stab it in the ground at the park or something and just sit down with a book and guard it unless people come up to me. Actually it is the case 9 times out of 10 while they may grow their own weed they also lace it with a harder drug, in order to create a better high which is where the addiction comes from it isn't the weed in it's pure form is mentally addiction it takes a secondary substance to cause physical addiction. You can grow weed and make it as strong as anything that a dealer pushes and it will be as natural as a tomato.

After prohibition made marijuana a rebellious thing, more kids started using it.
In the Netherlands, when they legalized pot about 25 years ago, they started seeing a drop in teen marijuana usage.
And also about the Netherlands. Even though it's legal there, they have about half the percentage of users!

My kids tell me it is much easier to get pot than beer or cigs, and why wouldn't it be? No cashier to card you. There is some merit in "legalizing" it, which really means regulating it. Right now it is prevalent, despite the fact that it is illegal. The fact that pot (unregulated) is easier to get than beer and cigs (regulated) gives me pause. Maybe legalization makes sense. I'm not one to say weed has BENEFITS of any kind, but at least it's not physically addictive like cigs or alcohol.

now these are just prices from when i smoked weed 30 bucks for a 8th lasted me maybe a day maybe 2 depending on how bad my day was now if i take 7 divid it by 2 that 3.5 days now times that by 30 thats 105 a week times that by 52 tahts a full calander yr that is 5460 dollars that was just me and i smoked it regularly now i know there are ppl ouyt there that smoke more than that. If an 8th of weed lasted you a day or 2, then your weed came from south of the border, and was grown by people who didn't care about their pot.
However, even if you spent $5460, per year on weed. That is often far less than some people with my condition spend on headache medication in a year. Imitrex can cost twice that amount.
Here is the difference. Imitrex is legal, and gets taxed (plus has horrible side effects). Marijuana is untaxed, because of prohibition. End prohibition

Addiction isn't a basis for prohibition, or they would need to prohibit chocolate. Chocolate, nicotine, caffeine, and a number of other very legal substances are far more addicting than pot.

If I were going to protest alone. I think I'd take my stick and stab it in the ground at the park or something and just sit down with a book and guard it unless people come up to me. But.. we don't have a park and I think the cops would make me leave anywhere public and I know I would get harassed by them from then on. All the local full time jobs drug test.
