  • This vid went viral on Berlin

  • Gotta agree with Helikestv on that one. It's a very authoritative voice. No upward inflection at the end of each sentence. Spoke with conviction. Monotone, but it kept my attention. Appreciated.

  • this is the best tecnique to holding and insert the speedloader, good job Massad

  • I've been reading Massad Ayoob for years, never heard his voice until now. Boy, does he sound different from what I imagined!

  • Way to go Masaad Aboob.

  • Also if you angle the gun just a tiny bit the ejecting rounds will better clear the grip and frame on some revolvers and not fail to fall away or fully eject. Amazing how the quick slap works so well. That helped me a lot.

  • Massad, who told you it's OK to point your weapon at a person you do not intend to destroy?

    Respect for Mas, -1.

  • @sukiari When exactly did he do that?

  • @wally2296 Actually he did so at several points. Bad Mas.

  • @sukiari I'm not saying your wrong I'm simply asking at what specific times because I didn't catch them myself.

  • @sukiari What an idiot you are sukiari.

This was a demo with a cleared weapon.

    Get a clue.

  • @Ahappyguy1955 You don't point guns at people whether or not it's a supposedly cleared weapon.

Seriously, have you never heard of the four rules? "Never point a gun at something you are not willing to destroy."

There's nothing in there about it being OK as long as it's a cleared weapon. No need to be a douchebag about it either.

  • @ikonik69 Was that supposed to be cute? it wasn't.

  • @gpepin1 Well me myself a Pakistani Christian made that comment, if Massad was directly responding to my comment he could understand the sarcasm and the word Muslim would had cracked him. Since you are responding on his behalf let me tell you this bro, you don’t get it. You don’t understand our thought process specially. What Massad is doing or have done is great and out of the norm in our community. Thanks for the vid

  • @ikonik69

    Not Moslem. Syrian orthodox...Christian

  • @ikonik69 This man has a wealth of knowledge..i highly doubt you possess

  • @TheMossbergg you hit it right on the head of the nail no doubt he is a deep well of wealth of knowledge. Now where did you see or read in my post that I am doubting Massad knowledge in any fashion or any kind of way? There is 2 posts by me, one is the comment and other is a reply to my comment. I will take your comment as a mistake and let it be by assuming that maybe you was trying to reply to someone else now If it was for me I hope you are not dum as you sound by your screen name. Mossberg!!!

  • @ikonik69 There's a ton of very capable Jordanian and Saudi special forces operators out there.

  • Gail, does Mas prefer the comp speedloader or an HK or similar "twist and release" type speedloader?

  • @mxhdroom He uses both the HKS for carry and the comp3 for competition

  • I'm new to shooting revolvers but I've been using his 'Stressfire' technique to reload my shotgun quickly since i bought 'Stressfire 2' almost 20 years ago.

  • The oddest thing, this video has dislikes.. I will ever understand Youtubers fully.

  • I really think this revolver technique is trying to fix something that ain't broke. The "FBI" more traditional method is fine. Anyone that dropped the gun during a reloading as Mass indicated is probably a wimp that gets hurt brushing his teeth in the morning.

  • @ColtDeltaElite10mm Your assertion would imply that you've used the "more traditional method" you speak of in a stressful scenario where attackers were present and possibly shooting at you. Is this the case?

  • @ColtDeltaElite10mm Which is exactly why we posted a "Series" of videos showing the different reloading techniques, some techniques work better for individuals. It really doesn't matter which one you use as long as you have one that works for you and practice it until it is locked in.

  • I'm gonna be the odd man out...the Michael de Bethencourt non-hand transfer reload works better for me.

  • @MitchellCT One big flaw is it's somewhat unsuited to most types of speedloaders, since your cylinder spins freely.

  • @John234pwns The de Bethencourt method? Um...no...sorry, but it does. Check out his classes, as he will have you run HKS, dade, SL Variant and others and they all work with his technique.

  • @MitchellCT From the looks of his videos, at least, he seems to lock the cylinder with just the thumb. I just think that's less stable with the very common twist loaders. Though he does have good advice on how to get those things working well.

  • @MitchellCT Also, note that even Bethencourt uses a transfer when he's reloading left handed because it's more efficient. I will note you can get the Ayoob reload to work without transfers for the right-handed person. After the ejector stroke, you tilt the gun downwards with the exact same grip, and use your left to insert the speedloaders.

  • @John234pwns My next class will hopefully be run with a S&W 686 so I can work out the revolver stuff with a longer time on trigger.

  • @MitchellCT Ah, good to know. G'luck with that. More training time is better.

  • His slow and slower is better than most peoples fast and fastest!

  • is a good taknik

  • Anyone else notice his last name backwards is booya?

  • @ozjas - i believe he is either a lebanese or syrian christian - decades ago, arab christians lived in the middle east in greater numbers

  • Massad's voice is awesome, it's like half john wayne and half Jimmy Stewart. Also, I wouldn't fuck with him if he had a .38 and I had a repeating rocket launcher like the one in Quake.

  • @helikestv Dude that is the quote of the century

  • I have dealt with many firearm instructors, but this guy is the best. His solutions are usually the most logical and with the tactical mindset always in the fore-front. This guy is the proverbial "Yoda" of firearms instruction. So, don't knock the name. Mas is best because he studies firearm tactics like a martial artist studies strike/hold techniques. Give em hell Mas!!!

  • Great reloading technique. Unfortunately, so many of these old-school instructors are still in-grained with the flawed Weaver-esque stance, and teaching it to their students.

  • His name makes me nervous.

  • I'm not sure I understand... in the end he is still gripping the hot cylinder with the weak hand. Why not just reload with the weak hand?

  • @ressikanflute Generally your dominant hand, for most people, right, is more dextrous, or more precise. So by using your right hand (for a right handed shooter,) you make it easier to get those rounds into that weapon faster. Also, a cylinder generally doesn't get all that hot during shooting.

  • @ressikanflute good point - but maybe burning your weak hand is less of a problem? idk.

  • Why is his flag in retreat?

  • @deathdealer1995 What does that mean?

  • @gpepin1

really? stars are supposed to face forward on the armerican battle flag

  • @gpepin1 He has the American flag on his shoulder with the stripes forward, the stars should always be forward.

  • @deathdealer1995 We know, that shirt was made incorrectly, it has been replaced.

  • @gpepin1 It's called confusing your enemy. Being Massad Ayoob, he probably does backflips when he attacks, and so nobody could really be sure how to point his flag.

  • @deathdealer1995 I don't know what you guys are smoking, but this is the way that countless law enforcement shirts are made - One sleeve has the flag going forward, the others back.

  • @deathdealer1995 his flag is not in retreat, it blows with the force of the wind forward with pride, having the flag fly backwards on uniforms is a relativily new and stupid way of symbolizing the flag. If they want the flag to represent moving forward, why not put it on the left shoulder so it is not symbolizing our country moving in a backwards direction.

  • @deathdealer1995 Because it's not a military shirt. It's just a flag on a shirt.

  • this is the only man that can kill chuck norris

  • @paulc43 haha yeah, with his deadly whistle!!!

  • My glock has 15+1, this dude is a pimp, but revolvers are dumb.

  • @edbean420 Revolvers are dumb? Have you ever personally owned one? I used to dislike revolvers, but then my S&W 686+ came into my life... She's my favorite range gun, I find myself pulling her out of the safe just to look at and work the action. Being a younger person, I do love me some glock 17, but revolvers still have their place even today and hopefully forever.

  • @edbean420

not if you are putting a hit on someone

  • A new wheelgunner (convert from running a glock for years) - if right handed shooting IDPA, why not keep your speedloader/moonclip holsters on your left side - allowing you to keep your dominant hand on the pistol grip, using your left to close the cylinder? Seems more natural, possibly faster to reacquire target.

  • @MyOwnYTAccount Using the nondominate hand on the speed loader is requiring it to perform a complex fine motor skill under stress. Aligning all six rounds into the cylinder with the non-dominate hand is a lot more error prone then doing it with the dominate hand.

  • This is great!

  • This guy's f n tan as shit. Cool.

  • Man, you whistle a lot!!! That's nice...

  • Ayoob is the Chuck Norris of defensive handgunning!

  • The only problem with the southpaw method is that you put your fingers back by the forcing cone. The whole point of the newer/better method he was describing in the first place was to get your fingers out of the "danger zone".

  • I respect Massad and have read his stuff for over 20 years now but I don't fully support the transition. My petite gal can shoot 18 rounds in less than 18 seconds from her M65 .357 with full lower loads, that's two speedloader reloads.. using the first style Massad demonstrated. If for any reason the shells won't eject you can always shift to the muzzle up/offhand slam technique

  • @FFlint07 how many rounds has she shot ,while running down a dark slippery alley afraid for her life from three rapists? This is a stressfire reload. Many techniques work, and diligent building of muscle memory is probably the most important aspect of whatever type of reload one chooses, but I think Ayoob has settled on this method based on probability of success under adverse stressful conditions.

  • Mas is the man.

  • this guy is just awesome thats all i can think to say!!! always loved his articles and takes on things since i was a 14 year old boy buying the mag "guns and ammo" or what not!!!!

  • Gail - as soon as I bought a GP100, my first revolver, I have used this technique for emptying the gun (I don't have speedloaders yet). Very cool technique, one that I don't see anyone from the ranges I visit using. Good stuff!

  • Really well thought out technique.

  • 4:18 - "the one time the fight or flight reflex will help you do something." Isn't that the truth. Cheers.

  • omg! he knows armscor from the philippines>< this guys knowledge is deep n broad!

  • Thanks for the review, but now I know why I prefer semi-autos for a carry gun with spare mag.

  • I just got an 38 spl 2 " barrel.this technic works very vey well.now off to get an com 3.thxsbfor the vid

  • Well this is just great.

  • Massad Ayoob is the leader that all others follow!

  • Outstanding.. A little practice at these maneuvers and I suppose anyone can become an expert revolver user in regards to rapid re-loading..The only issue i have about these maneuvers is these appear to be offensive techniques..Not that I'm against offensive techniques, but it seems to me that teaching them should be done so esoterically..

  • @gadgetable64 Hum, would you call the "technique" of sliding a magazine into a semi-auto offensive ? Probably not.

This allows revolver users like some cops to be more on par with other handgun wielders, not to become unstoppable killing machines.

  • I love how he claims to be only 'slow' and 'slower', right after he executes the fastest revolver reload I've ever seen.

  • I'm a big fan of revolvers, and now a big fan of you! Thanks for taking away 90% of the arguments against revolvers

  • The problem here is that if you bend the ejection rod by "hitting it" (the ejection rod is soft metal) you'er out of the fight and quite possibly dead.

  • This guy's real good with his sixgun. What year is this from?

  • @faffaflunkie 2009

  • @gpepin1 I remember the NY Times did an article about 9 years ago about the transition over to to semiautomatics and said that only 7 NYPD officers (out of 40,000) still carried revolvers. The officers who were interviewed for the article themselves attributed the fact that they still carried revolvers to "superstition".

  • @faffaflunkie he has been doing it since christ was a cowboy. when my dad went through the MECJA this guy was the go to guy on the most modern revolver training techniques.

  • @faffaflunkie

Mas is great with ANYTHING. Check out all his other vids, they're all impressive.

  • @BDChapman I used to read his articles-he wrote great one on the "FBI Miami Shootout" for example-but I never knew he was this articulate.

  • Thanks for this video. subbed

  • Great vid

  • I must be missing something, why dont we have the same problem in the left handed reload with the thumb right at the forcing cone?

  • How about a demo on reloads with only one hand?

There is a possibility of your shooting or reaction hand/arm being out of commission.

  • Excellent instruction from Ayoob as usual. Thank you.

  • good info for us guys who prefer revolvers over the new fangled ottermatics.

  • Thank you!

    good stuff.

    Michael W. Dean

  • Well SOMEBODY like him needs to be in an academy classrooms in major universities. With all the bleeding heart, politcaly correct anti-gunners; they need professors teaching handgun combat 101.

  • Where do you instruct? Who is "We all" in reference to your remark about being combat tested?

  • Those are good questions. We go to his

home page on You Tube and there is nothing at all. Yet Ayoob has been called

as an expert witness many times in court

    regarding firearms or firearm incidents.

  • @fightingchancetc

    what is your pedigree?

  • @fightingchancetc

can you show us your reload technique. i see you don't have any vids to show us any combat lessons. please show as i am very ready to listen

  • So glad he ends with a lefty style!

  • Ayoob leaves no stone unturned. If he's discussing a tactical reload with a revolver, you can bet your butt that he's assessed the same up, down and sideways. Having studied other approaches, he'll tell you in precise detail about their flaws, as he does here. We're fortunate that Ayoob has been sharing his research and knowledge with us for nearly 40 years. Rock on, Mas:) --

  • What are those speed loaders he's using? The only ones I'm familiar with are the kind with the knob you twist - not a paddle.

  • Those speedloaders are made by Safariland the model is the Comp III.

  • When it comes to proper handling of handguns, Mr. Ayoob is a walking Library of Congress. Incredibly knowledgeable.

  • Mas is pretty much a religion, he's what's good.

  • Amen, brother!

  • excellent ty
