  • irish men...say no more...painfu...l real art

they wrote the book back in the day..when other so called musicians played it safe...mick jagger ect was livin in his fortress when these guys were livin in the back of a van

    long live u2 ,elvis ,

  • The Edge is the best !!!!! \o/

    Edge is genius

  • a good mash-up always sounds like the two songs go together.

  • Wow!! Great mash up!! Thanks for posting. We haven't had the second season of Spectacle in Blighty yet. Who else does he have on?

  • @joydivided23?yeah but you look through history even the beatles stole their music .

  • Would have loved to be there, amazing

  • EPIC

  • I thought the very same thing when I first heard "Get On Your Boots". Definite similiarity. Which is not a bad thing, imho, both songs are great and incredibly fun. Love the mashup, this is awesome.

  • two decent songs put together makes one gigantic amazing.

  • This Rocks... This Rocks

  • This is fucking cack

  • Loving it all...this show is great...but then again...can't help myself...it's Elvis Costello... :)

  • Wow . !

  • They say that Get on your Boots is their fastest song (149 bpm) but there are several songs on Boy that's over 150. Electric Co. is the fastest at 160! bpm :)

  • i love how get on your boots was their song with the most bpm, and they still managed to amp it up, make it go faster. i like it like this.

  • I read where Dylan based Subterranean...on a Chuck Berry song called Too Much Monkey Business

  • Why assume one artist STOLE from the other? Guys of this caliber are WAY above that petty BS. It's clearly meant as a compliment- they're paying their respects.

Fans are angry, but these musicians aren't pissed about any so-called rip-off. Can't we say "Get On Your Boots" QUOTED "Pump it Up" which is, in turn, an HOMAGE to "Subterranean Homesick Blues"?

On the other hand, "Napoleon Dynamite"- Now THAT was a rip-off! That guy totally stole from EC. But he was nice about it-he didn't sue.

  • Maybe U2 going wrong with they last album (not for me !) but Bono's voyce still powerfull !

  • No Line on the Horizon: their best album since Achtung Baby. Glad you like it. If they had had a more 'U2' single (maybe they should have started with Magnificient), the album would have sold five times as much. The album is more depth than the last four and more reason to return againa and again. Amazing. This song is better for dropping 'sexy'. How about Edge's voice! Amazing.

    Love, Adam Clayton.

  • There are only 8 notes in an octave , in the history of music / songwriting there have always been songs and sounds that seem similar. I have not heard a peep from Elvis regarding a possible rip off of his song, If he ain't bothered why is deerfried. After over 30 years of amazing creativity calling Bono an imposters smacks of sour grapes to me. He was good enough for Frank, good enough for Luciano,he is good enough for Willie, for BB for a host of other musicians, he's good enough for me.

  • @lordkorner

Don't get me wrong...I'm not bothered by "Boots" sounding like "Pump." I actually think it's kinda cute. Others seem to have their bowels in an uproar, though.

  • @lordkorner There are 12 notes in an octave, and eight notes in a major scale IF you count the octave above the root. Sounds like someone needs to work on their chromatic scales....

  • @lordkorner You do know that the band Costello is called THE Imposters, right? And that deerfried wasn't calling Bono and Edge imposters...?

  • @WhiteRiotful *Costello is playing with is called...

  • @lordkorner No, there are 8 notes in a scale. There are 12 notes in an octave, assuming you don't allow quarter tones.

  • @lordkorner You do realize that there are 12 notes in an octave, right?

  • @lordkorner 12 notes in an octave.

    Just sayin'

  • @TheHouseofUncommons I think he/she means eight notes, no sharps or flats

  • @lordkorner Yeah but the problem is Elvis Costello wrote it around 25 years before Bono. Anyone eejit can rip off music. And if you think U2's older stuff was innovative and unique you obviously aren't aware of how much they ripped from Echo and the Bunnymen, a band which sadly never made it but whom U2 stole a lot from.

  • @lordkorner You loser! The imposters is the name of Elvis's BAND! Do some research!

  • @lordkorner There's 12 notes in an octave.

  • @TaylorTayMusic I think lordkorner means whole notes

  • Get on your boots, Pump it up and Subterranean Homesick Blues rolled into one is great to hear...I think Bono and Elvis both acknowledge that they both stole the same song

  • @cantonadenmark Even Bob Bylan song was a rip off from a Chuck Berry classic. Actually the list should be in that order:

-"Too Much Monkey Business" by Chuck Berry.

-"Subterranean Homesick Blues" by B. Dylan.

-"Pump It Up" by Elvis Costello.

-"Get On Your Boots" by U2.

And they are all great songs, I don't want to put anybody down :)

  • @heyheymymy78

You forgot Billy Joel's We Didn't Start the Fire...On second thoughts, that one might best be forgotten.

  • why do you say this??? disgusting??

u2 are an amazing band granted this song isnt the best they put out

    but cmon

  • yes, there are similarities- as are there between boots , pump it up and The Wild Wild West in the lyrical progression. Yes, Wild Wild West came out after pump- I'm just saying "similarity" is not the same as "rip off"

  • U2 ripped off Elvis and Elvis ripped off Dylan, I think that is what the outro is hinting at, kinda saying its okay I done it too.

  • One of these songs is great, the other sux. Get on your boots - what were they thinking? What a stupid crap song.

  • Love the rockin Theramin at the end!

  • how good is this .woooooooooooooooo

  • Two Shots of Happy One Shot Of Sad was written by U2 for Frank Sinatra....you can find it on the If God Will Send His Angels single.

  • Elvis has trouble finding the rhythm at the beginning sounds like monitor trouble almost.

  • Yeah you're probably right, that's the only way Elvis could have botched that so badly. Would have liked to have seen Bono tackle Pump It Up. Very nice working in Bob Dylan at the end too.

  • This is still really cool, but he's pretty off. Generally when you see somebody who's a pro and there off like that it's just a technical problem.

    This is still cool

  • Please, Adam Clayton.

  • yeah...

  • @crowvox Where is that hottie? He looks so good nowadays!

  • All of you forgot to mention Subterranean Homesick Blues by Dylan which is unbelievable especially since both Elvis and Bono sing a few lines near the end there from that song as well.

  • Er... you forgot Wild Wild West which is really where you ripped it off from.

  • yeah, as soon as i heard the first clip for boots, i thought 'Pump it up!' as well as sorry to say, esclape club's wild wild west!

  • don't really need it !

  • Watched this on tv last night. FUCKING AWESOME!!

  • yes hi iwatched it last night to unreal!!

These boys are f awsome!!! Elvis is great to.I liked stay far so close.. but i was hoping for Two Sots Oof Happy One Shot Sad that bono sang last night on elvis..cant find it you know where it is???

Great interview to insightfull love pump it up!! This was recorded on toronto while u2 were here playing two sold out shows

    i went specatular!!! bono:)
