Oh shit Danny, what happened? did you have to stop scheduling mani-pedis every tuesday and thursday? did you have to sell your 5th car? you poor bastard. it's too bad those illegal downloaders only account for a 10% loss in sales.
@warlocksarewatching Honestly I get where your coming from, but I don't blame the public. I think the internet enables the public AND businesses to do things much more easily which is what enable piracy.Part of the original purpose of copyright was to cover the costs of producing whatever product was sold;if businesses are losing money off of copyright infringement, then they're also able to advertise and produce more.Copyright laws needs to mesh with the internet;that's the root of the problem.
Soon breathing "free" air will be illegal and then we will have to pay farmers that own the land with trees that produce oxygen. In order to solve this legal-illegal dilemma, music producers and artists need to bite their tongue among with their ego and allow free previews of the music they are talking about, because very often the "art" that they call art is just a waste of money and is revolting. Sometimes the music they make is a complete garbage. This way consumers will buy what they LIKE.
@8XMX8 Some artists actually retain the rights to their own music. Its not the fans against the corporations as the well crafted media wants you to believe.

"Piracy is not theft,” Referencing the most common anti-piracy argument “If you steal a car, the original is lost. If you copy a game, there are simply more of them in the world.”
Think of all the publicity games would lose if not for pirates. :/ People love video games, but paying between 40 to 60 dollars is outrageous.. The industry would eventually lose money from the millions of people too poor to buy their products because they churn out a new game literally every few months.
At least pirating gets the word out and lets people know about popular titles and maybe they'd be more inclined to buy the new games from the same developers in future.
By setting an example of a couple of individuals, they can scare a percentage of the population into buying them... Making their products spread throughout the world, either free, or/and at a price and still being able to make a profit, for production costs and as an incentive for future projects...
I don't even listen to these stupid Singers! I Only enjoy movies and games, and free radio stations! P2P lived, lives and will live forever!! PIRACY ISN'T PIRACY ITS SHARING AND CARING!! I downloaded, I'm downloading, and continue to download forever!
Someone buys a Movie watches it gets bored with it and shares it!! We download it!
Singers and Actors make more money out of you than All of your relatives combined!!
If a band makes good music and they don't want me to download it for free, I'm not a fan anymore. They can go fuck themselves and I'll download it twice out of spite.
@NejiHyuga900 Yeah, like that'll happen, buddy. What--you keep some .txt file keeping track of all illegally downloaded digital material, or what? Then on"Spring Cleaning Day," Go through your list and find and delete the stuff you don't want anymore, then pay the $300 dollars for the stuff you DO still want? Or don't even delete anything but pay the $1,000's of dollars it costs for everything you've downloaded within the past while? Wouldn't there be things you'd like to keep but only if free?
@NejiHyuga900 I don't mean to be all...well...[insert word here] about it, but I totally get where you're comin' from and I'm sure many, many pirates have honest intentions at first and I hope you live up to your policy! When you start enjoying something for free though, it gets addictive and it only gets harder to get yourself to try to pay for it! I hope you're different, though!
Fuck those music producers, they make over tens and tens of millions, if 10% of people download, it wont' hurt. It's like you are making 10 million a year, instead you are going to make 9 million a year. POOR THING!!! fucking assholes, shove your dollars in your ass and die.
@bomberfun1 No asshole you got it wrong. Illegal file sharing destroyed art in music. The only "artists" left are the plastic people that Hollywood puts in front of you. The people with talent, who should have been the next generation of artists got regular jobs. Why? Because we need to survive.
@bomberfun1 You're a dumbass, it's the same thing with illegally downloading movies--you're taking away royalties/residual checks that the artists could be receiving. Sure, you're not literally taking money out of their pockets but YOU ARE lowering the amount of money they'll be receiving because you are not legally viewing/buying the entertainment. When people pirate it's not just the actors, studios, record producers, and artists that suffer, it's all of the tech people too. So fuck off
@warlocksarewatching The asshole is you, you got no logic, retard. The producers are greedy. Their greed is perhaps one of the main reasons people don't but their crap music, otherwise a person paying 29.99 for an album or 49.99 for a video game will regret if the game is a piece of shit like most of the stuff nowadays. They charge outrageous prices for rotten tomatoes. If they will start charging 9.99 for a new game and 0.99 for an album, then people will buy. Greedy
@bomberfun1 So the reason it's okay to steal things is that the people who sell them are greedy. That makes a lot of sense. Also, if you're going to make a purchase you should probably read up on it if it's a game or an album to make sure you know what you're buying. Luckily we have things like Spotify to listen to albums before you buy them so you know what you're getting. It's not the producers fault that you think their product is shitty--it's your dumbass that blindly bought the product.
I'm not, I'm just analyzing your comment exactly the way you wrote it/implied it. I understand that you were just proposing an idea as to why people illegally download--not advocating it. All I was saying is that this whole preconceived idea many of those people have about greed is a ridiculous argument for justifying their stealing. As long as people know they're stealing and what they're doing is against the law that's fine but the idea some of them have that their stealing is justified isn't
@warlocksarewatching Most people don't even know when they're violating copyright laws though. In Infringement Nation (which I would recommend, because it makes a lot of good points), it says the average person commits 4.5 billion dollars worth of copyright infringement in a year. To me, that says the copyright laws are out of control, not the public. Copyright laws need to be enforceable, reasonable and clear, because right now they're a joke.
@xxEternallyBluexx There technically is a law that's pretty clear that was passed in the mid 90s the problem really has to do with the big search engines--they're not doing their jobs taking down illegal sites. I agree though, we need clearer legislation so people will fucking learn to not do it. The public is out of control in a big way, they don't seem to care because it's not like stealing from a corner store or a bank--it's much harder to get caught.
@bomberfun1 And why would a video game that takes millions of dollars to be made be priced at 10 dollars? Companies would go fucking bankrupt. And charging 99 cent for an album? What, is an artist's hard work only worth 99 pennies? What you seem to be advocating is blind consumerism where the seller should be held accountable when you yourself don't even look at what you're buying. I'm okay with you having an opinion, even though it's wrong. But don't try and argue that piracy is morally ok
@therogerempire They're not really, they're also a form of entertainment that is constantly downloaded illegally--and considering the video game industry is bigger than the movie industry that's pretty serious.
Well sometimes we cant help it but to download illegally, overall why do you think people are downloading illegally, we live in a terrible economy where people need to save money, we aren't stealing, we're sharing, be concerned when someone tries to make profit from pirated content...
i just downloaded two movies and watching them brand new are u pissed mcppa or mppaaa or wtf is ur name hahaha , thank god for people who do share on torrents and seeders thank you for keeping alive the torrent sites :=) its good to be a pirate support pirate bay from the corrupt hollywood lol
Can't people see? Music IS free. You get it from "illegal" downloads, from a friend, or Youtube. There are other ways for musicians to get money. Imagine how much money an artist gets in a world tour.
You CAN listen to music without paying.
Fun Fact: did you know that 20 years ago, MTV used to play free music?
i think illegal downloading is a perfect way to stop the richer from getting more richer and poorer from getting more poorer... therefore restoring out the universal balance!! :D
when networks decide to put tv shows on dvd at reasonable prices, maybe i'll stop trying to find it illegally online. of course, networks rather than realize all the potential customers they have try to wipe the internet clean of their programming and at the same time refuse to air the shows on tv. people illegally download or illegally view stuff because they want to watch something that they can't get anywhere else and the networks want to control what you can and can't watch.
@splitka1996 I only download from the one's that do make millions. Usually the less they make/ more underground they are, the less people download from them because it is harder to find. The popular/millionaires are the one's that are downloaded the most.
@THEGODOFPIVOT not all mainstream hip hop artist care about money look at nas and the roots they just make music for their fans and for the love of it.
from what i know...in your country you can learn/go to school( u get it!) is kinda free...so,if i learn english from music(ilegaly downloaded) that means im ok??

All of these sites will be shut down cabos, vuze, kaazaa, frostwire, luckywire, lemonwire, and many other sites like them, you people who use these programs are all thieves and you should be sued.I am supporting this fight against piracy. I will be assisting in obtaining IPs from all people who use these programs.I will visit youtube routinely to discover any new music/video piracy site you people post in the comments and we will have that site shut down.
@Shaggythemaster I don't know anyone that makes 3000 a month. I make 450 a month. And I am American as they come. My family has been in America at least 150 years. So don't try to twist numbers in such retarded ways.
All you capitalists trying to make money on everything. Too dependent on money to even take a piss. Seriously, they have customer only bathrooms! Free software and Open Source FTW
As someone else here already pointed, how it's possible to buy an original DVD for only $5 in a country where the monthly income starts from $3000 (USA) and the very same DVD will be $8-$10 (at least) in a country where the monthly income is only $300-500 (Eastern Europe any many more regions all over the world) ???
And than you ask young/poor kids, not to illegally download the movie or the software? That's what I call hypocrisy.
Let me add that you can rent a movie for $1 or even less in US

@KarinMikazuki That was never proved. In most situations, the opposite happens. It acts as free advertisement. The few artists that tried to release their songs as "donation-wares" made a lot more revenu than what they would have made with a fixed price tag. No matter what happens, people always end up paying for good products. When you hear a good song or movie, you want to buy it. Even if you pirated it first. If artists loose money because their stuff get pirated, it means it's a bad product.
Piracy DOES hurt people! Illegally downloading something for free is like going to a store and stealing a cd and movie and video game! If you want it, you have to pay for it.
Saying downloading a cracked game from the internet is illegal is like saying I can't send a song to my friend that I bought from iTunes. < That's not illegal, but supposedly downloading a song is? Nah, Government, get'cho shit straight, niggas.
@coliwood There is no effective way to stop people from cracking software, if companies want to earn money they need to make their software _worth_ buying
Recorded NC police officer discussing downloading music He named Kazaa Songs arranged in groups you just click and get the song He said it was the thing to do everybody was doing it He bet his daughters had downloaded a thousand songs on his computer He said he had to buy a new computer his old one filled up with memory He laughed and said he hoped the federal government did not come in and investigate him This was reported and was ignored by the RIAA and the FBI Where is the justice here.
what? company getting hurt? losing there money? WHAT!?
do you think that a multi-million record label and artist is going to actually care about 1 song being pirated, no, jesus there already rich, they aren't going to miss the 1 £/$ fee for a song mate. they'll be to busy in there solid gold mansions and money fights to notice it.
@joystickers lol are you dumb? if that were the case there would be no musicians at all. many ppl buy it, thats why they get to have big houses and all that expensive shit. but some people like just one song, per say, and i wont buy a whole fucking album for one song.
I am actually very much against things like copyright, and patenting because information should always be free and open to the public, and technology should be accessible to people. So I encourage people to copyright infringe, and patent infringe as much as possible!
"dont take stuff you didn't make and post on the net for everyone to download" <--anti piracy rule funny thing youtube is full of of it XD so antipiracy on yt=fail :o
I dont pirate much but if I do pirate say a game, it would be to test it out. You see, MOST demos dont give you ANY insight into the game so if I do, I would pirate a game just to test drive it and then if I liked it, go out and buy it. If I dont, then I just delete it.
Piracy is something you do when your a child and don't have the money to buy movies and cd's and i think it's okay to pirate such things as a child but once you grow up and get money then you will hurry find out that it's worth buying cd's, rip them in FLAC and choose highest quality.. Omg what a difference!
Never am i gonna use mp3 again knowing that you lose data from the original song
Oh shit Danny, what happened? did you have to stop scheduling mani-pedis every tuesday and thursday? did you have to sell your 5th car? you poor bastard. it's too bad those illegal downloaders only account for a 10% loss in sales.

when networks decide to put tv shows on dvd at reasonable prices, maybe i'll stop trying to find it illegally online. of course, networks rather than realize all the potential customers they have try to wipe the internet clean of their programming and at the same time refuse to air the shows on tv. people illegally download or illegally view stuff because they want to watch something that they can't get anywhere else and the networks want to control what you can and can't watch.

@splitka1996 I only download from the one's that do make millions. Usually the less they make/ more underground they are, the less people download from them because it is harder to find. The popular/millionaires are the one's that are downloaded the most.

Or the fact that copying a product results in lost revenue... which isn't stealing but.
KarinMikazuki 1 year ago
@KarinMikazuki That was never proved. In most situations, the opposite happens. It acts as free advertisement. The few artists that tried to release their songs as "donation-wares" made a lot more revenu than what they would have made with a fixed price tag. No matter what happens, people always end up paying for good products. When you hear a good song or movie, you want to buy it. Even if you pirated it first. If artists loose money because their stuff get pirated, it means it's a bad product.
