@KuromiCupcake That guy is my dad (not literally). He makes the ad realistic. He represents a lot of dads (like my own) who use humor because they can't express their true feelings.
I love Thanksgiving! This commercial captures a snapshot of all the reasons to love the holiday! Friends, family, gratitude, and love! We all need to show our love and gratitude more often!
What I've always noticed growing up is that the one thing that brings a smile to a persons face when there crabby the other 363 days of the year, is the holidays...so odd.
Really michaelovercash? A huge supermarket chain trying to turn a profit doesn't have your Christian god injected into their ads? That's all that's on your mind when you see that commercial? Sad for you!
Why must your god be included in EVERY national holiday?!? What next? Groundhog Day? July 4th? Labor Day? Give it a rest. This commercial accurately represents family, gratitude, appreciation and love. If that isn't enough for you that you have to inject your god, I pity you.

How upsetting that, in order not to risk upsetting a few minority atheists, Publix sterilized Thanksgiving by removing any reference to God whatsoever! Nobody is praying, nobody thanks God. Their "prayers" are just undirected speeches to nobody, as if the pilgrims were heathens.... unbelievable...
I have to disagree with you on this one. The point of the commercial, like most Publix holiday commercials, is the importance of being with family and loved ones at this time of year. If you watch any of the other holiday commercials you'll find that's their consistent theme, as such this makes perfect sense.
Oh and BTW there were no Pilgrims at the first Thanksgiving. It was held in Jamestown in 1619, a full year before the first Pilgrim set foot in the New World.
This one is almost solemn, isn't it? I can't help thinking, that each of those tables is actually also remembering those who are not there. There seems to be the looming shadow of somebody missing :(
Bravo! Thanks for taking the time to give us a holiday lift with this great memory.
