Well said. She is a rare artist who sings most every single song like her recordings...that's amazing when you consider how often they sing each song over and over. I think she puts such feeling/emotion into her songs and that makes for a great performance...

While I always love Martina's singing, I find this one is awfully similar to Eva Cassidy's version. And Eva sang it a few years ago, before she passed away. Eva's video is here in YouTube. Go see it and tell me what you think.

yeah, the string here is similar to eva's. though i think martina's is different in tempo and in some notes. well who knows, maybe martina's trying to sing the blues version of the song, and eva i think created that ultimate blues version. though there's a difference as well in their delivery and phrasing. but definitely, both versions are wonderful in their own right. =)

Perhaps Martina was inspired by her version or style. I agree it's simular. I love the clarity of Eva's voice, angelic. But my fav artist is Martina. Not only her voice but amazing consistency in her unbelievable live perfromances. Hearing her live is exactly like her recordings, which is hard to do. It is her passion for each word and song that makes it possible...
