  • I have this whole set, and you do not need two engines to pull it, nor do the drive wheels ever slip, if that happened to this train, it is broken. The engine and tender are diecast metal and extremely heavy and would pull this set up any realistic grade, also, the drive wheels have several traction tires.

  • @MyBigBoysToys - but it would look really cool with 3 engines!!!

  • @kgtrains That it would my friend!

  • well, good luck geting this set its crazy expensive.

  • SEARCH: Emmett Jordan at archive.org

    Roll Freight Train Roll

Reminds me of my locomotive engineer grandpa al-Jordan.

  • omg

  • I like the whistle. Did the Hiawatha Atlantics have whistles? I know they had air horns. If they had a whistle, did it sound like that? I anyone knows please "chime in".

  • @nev594 actually they did but the MILW removed them after a short period. Otto Kuhler who did the design debated about putting one on there in the first place and did. I believe it was located right over the headlight

  • I want this set SOOO BAD!

  • @starwarsfandude - its a great set, but if you want to run all the cars you should get two engines to pull them. (these are heavy metal cars!!)

  • @kgtrains How much does the set cost, exactly, because I have at least $150 dollars in my wallet, but I'm unsure if that's enough.

  • @starwarsfandude - this one sold. I think for 150 you can find something in HO or N scale that will work. O guage is a little more expensive.

  • @kgtrains I've been looking for years, there is no Hiawatha set that includes the 4-4-2 or the 4-6-4 Hiawatha streamlined steam locomotives in N scale. I've seen a kitbash here and there, but ...yeah, steam availability in N still kinda stinks, though it's gotten marginally better in the last 30 years.

  • @kgtrains

yea right a hiawatha set in ho is 250.00 to 350.00

  • @kgtrains It looks like it was slipping coming around the curves! I bet my MTH AC6000 could pull those cars up my 5% grade because it weighs 7.5lbs and has all wheel drive.

  • didn't these engines also have air horns?

  • I think I've just died and gone ot Hiawatha heaven! :-)

  • wait can you sell it please i have it in n scale

  • @Utubeplayarette09 - its sold

  • How much?

  • @raneve23 - its sold

  • is that a 4-4-2?

  • @pensyturbine - yep.

  • sweet #250 you got alot of trans are you a retailer? or a train nut like me

  • i would like to get this train but i dont have enough money :(

  • AMAZING!!!!! Lionel Is legendary!!

  • Beautiful. Even the O-54 curve doesn't do this train justice.

  • Great train!
