Quran is full of pointer but the majority do not realize that ritual are pointing to something and are stuck in the structure of the religion not the real religion which is the religion of the heart. i love sufi music despite that my views of existense are somewhat atheistic and that i feel that the abrahamic faiths have brought humanity and the planet so much hatred, intolerance and suffering. this does not take anything away from my genuine admiration for this form of music. the universe is eternally and infinitely expanding and beyond attachments and rigidity the human mind should too. there are many rivers that lead to the sea.
Why is it that all religions profess love as a central teaching and then exhibit such intolerance and hate? Love and tolerance are the province of the individual and religion an adjunct to that, not necessary but in many cases adding another layer of richness. My own beliefs are irrelevant as regards to this but my decency, tolerance and care of my fellow man is not.

@yusufbest syariah is a must even for Sufis. But for example, you need to look beyond the laws and don't take the laws literally. e.g In Islamic countries they cut the fingers (hands) of whoever steals something. Does cutting someone's hand solve the problem? Perhaps the law means to cut their hands from stealing and find them a job so there's no need for stealing.

You are very welcome! Let's put it this way, there are 3 principles of Sharî`ah, Tarîqah, & Haqîqah with Haqîqah or truth being the center of a circle. To know your circle you need to know all its components and properties. Sufism is a path of recognition. Remember your goal as a Sufi is to achieve self-knowledge. You want to achieve peace and harmony in your life so anything that brings disharmony and imbalance to ur life is not helping you to reach your ultimate goal. Politics?!!

Sufi is the heart of Gods love for his creation Its a shame most of the leading Muslim clerics today are such supporters of oppression and violence and so like the societys they see as their opposition. Sayed Khalil was not Muslim. He was part of a group called Ahl-e-haqq that take Hazrat Ali, may Allah enoble his face, as god in the flesh. AUDHUBILLAH. Iranian authorities I believe were the ones that killed him. Even though he was not a Muslim, that is no reason to murder him. He did nothing but practice his own religion without altercation. He past away several years back, and is in the judgement of Allah SWT, and Allah is the best of Judges.

Shia or not, or what state this man died in is not 4 us 2 judge. What i do know is he has passed on to us a divine emotional gift from Allah swt in his music. We need to re adapt this in our hearts, in our out look of life, in our understanding and practice of Traditional Sunni Islam, in our Salook to Allah swt.. I can only feel him and his music to be very sincere and Allah swt orientated. For that I pray to Allah swt to submerge him in His Mercy Oceans along with all of us deluded sinners.

If there were going to be any take over of any culture, it would be Japanese and/or Chinese, and they don't even have to push it upon us. I also love sufism and love the music, but i must say @kikusdream that Islam cannot survive alone on sufi music, Islam has many enemies and Islam itself is a form of government for all muslims. Few corrupt politicians give politics a dirty name..today Iran would be one of the most immoral places under the Shah if it wasnt for Khomeini.

what is the general sufi position on the laws of Islam as presented in the Quran?

@yusufbest syariah is a must even for Sufis. But for example, you need to look beyond the laws and don't take the laws literally. e.g In Islamic countries they cut the fingers (hands) of whoever steals something. Does cutting someone's hand solve the problem? Perhaps the law means to cut their hands from stealing and find them a job so there's no need for stealing.

You are very welcome! Let's put it this way, there are 3 principles of Sharî`ah, Tarîqah, & Haqîqah with Haqîqah or truth being the center of a circle. To know your circle you need to know all its components and properties. Sufism is a path of recognition. Remember your goal as a Sufi is to achieve self-knowledge. You want to achieve peace and harmony in your life so anything that brings disharmony and imbalance to ur life is not helping you to reach your ultimate goal. Politics?!!

Sayed Khalil was not Muslim. He was part of a group called Ahl-e-haqq that take Hazrat Ali, may Allah enoble his face, as god in the flesh. AUDHUBILLAH. Iranian authorities I believe were the ones that killed him. Even though he was not a Muslim, that is no reason to murder him. He did nothing but practice his own religion without altercation. He past away several years back, and is in the judgement of Allah SWT, and Allah is the best of Judges.
