  • who are these people? i get the errie gun violence message but i can't find any of the names in an obituary or violent crime catalogue. i guess this was way back in the day when we used spooky charcoal portraits instead of photography.

  • death is an illusion ,energy only gets transformed into another form.dig

  • Probably quality musicians recognize quality television and cash isn't the only means of persuasion for licensing. Anyway for me misfits has lost from it's original power since robert sheehan fled towards american dollars and hollywood. But still watching, Kelly rules!

  • @pointlesssowhat he's doing a television programme in ireland now instead. a gangster programme called Love-Hate. i just dont think he wanted to be seen to only be able to play the one role, i dont think it was about the money. he definitely wouldnt be doing an irish programme if it was for the money.

  • Μοιρολόι.... Εις Αεί...

  • Death is nothing. Life is something. But you see you must have nothing as a background to see something. What were you before birth? Nothing. What will you be when you die? Nothing. So now you can experience that fun little adventure that's in between. =] get it?

  • Life sucks,then you die....

  • Damn I searched through a thousand videos through my history to find the name of this song... la la la is a common lyric it turns out

  • I mean @kateyparis

  • I agree with @kateparis

  • ok why did you have to put dead people stories in the video it's starting to make me regret not forwarding those chain mail messages

  • I loooove this song, and I agree w somebody who said previously that this is a pretty good song for having only "lalala" for lyrics, but the video is ultra-creepy, I just wanted to listen the song, so I had to scroll all the way down, I do not want to think of the creepiness while I listen to this tune...:(

  • pretty chilling, reality is a cunt!

  • @MrJaggedsmile i wish reality was a cunt,, unfortunatly it tends to be tissues and pornhub. but anyways i get you

  • i like the part when she says lalala

  • @wiseguys72 wich is like the entire song..

  • haunting vocals, echoing thru the ages, R.I.P great music, the world has been overrun by lousy music these days

  • RIP Troy Davis

Another victim of Amerikkkan bourgeois "democracy"

  • I heard this song a while back in Disco Pigs, and then also in the show Misfits (:

  • @rabaku99 Misfits have by far the best soundtrack i've ever heard on a tv series

  • @pointlesssowhat it does indeed. I'm surprised at all the good music I recognize on the show. It can't be cheap or easy to get that kind of licensing to use it

  • The video is horrible.

  • @papatineuse2 I agree. ;)

  • @JammyGit07 too late, man.. where's your god now?

  • 5:17 ... That is CLEARLY Method Man.

  • Good song, creepy video.

  • just watched being human- the longest day, fantastic acting, brilliant plot and a superb sound, i just had to find this track. nina's horror, devastation and sense of betrayal when she learned the truth was simply breathtaking. love it xx ps. anyone notice ruth from spooks? woop!

  • Like many folks here, first heard this song in Being Human, had to check it out!

  • I'm yet another who's been made aware of this amazing song thanks to Being Human.

Don't worry, they wouldn't carry on with the series if they killed Mitchell off, so I expect he'll stick around. ;)

  • Being Human sent me here to listen to such an amazing track got song for suspense :P "you are the bullet" =O

  • Yep I just looked this up after Being Human - yet another brilliant episode...

  • I love how loads of people were brought here by being human. I knew what the song was but I had to go listen to it its awesome... and yeah it fitted the scene really well.

  • I heard this in Being human. Found it chilling and mesmerizingly beautiful at the same time. Made that 5 minutes in being human truely special and fitted the atmosphere perfectly.

P.s Praying mitchel doesnt die... wont be the same without him :(

  • @JammyGit07 OMG SO DO I!!!

  • @Dsellu great episode wasnt it :)... one of the few tv programmes that grips me at the moment. Just hope mitchel survives otherwise the series will suffer.

  • @JammyGit07 Yes it was amazing. Killing mitchell is like killing the show. i cant believe nina!!

  • Notice how many of these people were depressed and (most likely not unrelated) unemployed? This is heartbreaking.

  • The video is a tirade against gun ownership. Every person featured was killed with a gun. The video is saying don't have the right to bear arms.

  • @northbanksy Yeah we all know. Now shut the fuck up already. Go play Russian roulette or something.

  • The video is a tirade against gun ownership in the USA

  • @northbanksy which is pretty retarded most of these cases revolve depressed/idiotic suicides and savagery those things happened without guns they will happen with it . these same ppl would be hanging from a extension cord or bludgeoned by a hammer /stabbed by a knife .

  • @killgore333333 Awsome Song Foound This Song On Misfits Episode 2 Series 2

    LALALA!

  • Sad face :(

  • dirge (dûrj) n.

    1. Music

    a. A funeral hymn or lament.

    b. A slow, mournful musical composition.

    2. A mournful or elegiac poem or other literary work.

    3. Roman Catholic Church The Office of the Dead.

  • Welcome to real life where everyone has problems-not just you. Good video, Better music!

  • I love this song but it creeps me the fuck out!!

  • @kissmechelsea

lol yeah with you on that one :D

  • are all these deaths real..

  • @BlackHoleSun94 The names and captions of the people in this video look quite similar to a 1989 Time magazine article called "7 Deadly Days." Basically the article put names and faces of those killed between May1-May7 1989 by guns.

  • @acidbubblebath76 Thanks for the info. I'm gonna look for that magazine or article.

  • mellowPOWER

  • shit just got real

  • It's certainly a bigger production etc but my original point was they ripped the song of ! Good tune but it's not their creation.

  • Just mesmerizing. Im in Love with this kind of deep and reflective sound. Can relate this to darker trip hop acts like Massive Attack, Portishead, Tricky, Kruder and Dorfmeister, Sneaker Pimps, Unkle, AllFlaws

  • i heard this song when i watched Disco Pigs its so amazing i really love it ty for uploading.

Does anyone know any other tunes kinda like this?

  • Didn't find out about this song til' I saw Last House on the Left, Fucked up movie.......Great Song.

  • the song is called Dirge: - a sombre song expressing mourning or grief, such as would be appropriate for performance at a funeral. That is the meaning of the song. it is a haunting, mourful tune....now stop arguing

  • americans + guns = many deaths ...

this is what happens in countries with relaxed gun laws and poor enforcement on illegal guns

i have nothing against americans but look up dimebag darrell and also collateral murder!

collateral murder shows innocent civilians being killed by an apache helicopter gunner, the guy who pulled the trigger is meant to be a U.S. army pro not a killer!

dimebag darrell was a guitarist shot on stage by a crazy gun man, these things only seem to happen around americans

  • this is much more dynamic and emotional song then the five or six version. this is much better

  • guns = living in fear

  • im sad

  • gun crime LALALA

  • the song isnt about anything-its instrumental-the video is all about people killed by guns

  • Comment removed

  • @thosegreengentlemen hugely, hugely pretentious mate

  • i dont get it? i love the song but wtf is the video about? are these people that died in las vegas or something?

  • has anyone noticed that the obituaries change just when you are about to finish reading them, so that you cannot ponder until the song reaches its climax?

  • @mentheeclat i think you can't read very fast.

  • this song reminds me of those drunken travles home in very earily hours of the moring!

  • IF guns were banned or better controlled I wonder how many of these deaths could have been prevented.

  • great song & great vid

  • I think that we as a society relay too much on the fact that meaning has to be spoon fed and that the idea of mainstream, not mainstream itself is point killing us.

  • any songs similar to this one ?

  • so if it's sampling, why didn't they credit it? It's theft - which is why Death In Vegas settled out of court with five or six, and acknowledged they'd nicked it.

  • @quodog1 seriously?

  • this song is not a RIP OFF u fools its called sampling when a producer uses an already made song/tune/meoldy and either remixes or add more to the song...in this case would be the La La La's and the harder bass

  • I will not be able to sleep tonight...

  • And all these deaths were done on one single day...

  • if people didn't have access to guns with the same ease as they have to lollipops probably most of them would be alive

  • Nice tune!

  • It's scary how many people are in possession of guns.

  • this song is so amazing!<3

  • But the song is a direct rip-of ! Check out Another Reason by Five or Six recorded 20 years earlier. They stole it.

  • @quodog1 Oh my God, you're right!!!

  • @ElectricRunner007 I knew Five Or Six and one of the blokes from DIV was around years after the song was recorded. He obviously heard it then stole it.

  • @quodog1 I wonder why no one else picked up on that. Great observation!

  • LOVE the song..

  • haunting......................

  • 4:11 What an idiot.

  • I can't believe ALL this happened in 1 day?

  • I think that this song is about how we as a society live "comfortably numb" in that we don't care or pay much attention to the outside world, or the world that exists beyond our horizons, hence the "la la la's". No matter how loud the music gets, which sounds like blaring alarms toward the end, we live carefree. But at the very end of the song when the music is blaring, the "la la la's" stop and slowly we begin to see that when shit gets real we cant live comfortably numb anymore, anyone agree??

  • @ohmygoditsamazing never thought of it in that way. excellent analysis.

  • @tawreq wow, thank you for the compliment :)

  • @ohmygoditsamazing That's a pretty damn good way of looking at this song/music. Really gives it more depth.

  • @ohmygoditsamazing i don't. i think it's an instrumental track without any lyrics that is awesome without having to tack a trite 'meaning' on it.

  • @ohmygoditsamazing OR it is just a sond about La La La's?:D, but I love it anyway :)

  • @ohmygoditsamazing i like that interpretation :)

as it's called 'death in vegas' it could also be about the someone's life flashing before their eyes before death. The "la la la's" make it seem like their life is fleeting before them, out of their grasp. The prolonged 'laa' adds a tint of nostalgia towards their memories and at the end as it gets more quiet, they accept what is to come and with a final but hushed "la la la".

  • @ohmygoditsamazing @iLuckyyy actually i just realised the band is called 'death in vegas' thus that whole interpretation is bs. :D

  • @iLuckyyy

Don't try reading so much into it, but the interpretation isn't bs as a dirge (the name of the song) is a hymn sung in memorial to the recently deceased.

  • @gunzt3rkenfu92 :D It's one of the few great songs without actual lyrics..

and when the point of the song isn't as straightforward, my mind wanders..

  • @ohmygoditsamazing, and @iLuckyyy, wow you guys are both trying to read way too far into this... its just a song. there are no lyrics, you cannot read meaning in this song at all, except in the sense of the sounds/music evoking a particular mental image---but that's done in the individuals mind... la la la's have no inherent meaning, no matter how good the song is.

  • @Lovertits9 haha :D but as you said, the sense of sounds/music and I'll add to that the tone of voice of the "la la la's", we can evoke a mental picture. People hardly share those mental images on youtube so when I saw ohmygoditsamazing's great interpretation I also felt like adding mine :P

  • @ohmygoditsamazing Totally agree, does anyone really care anymore?
