invasion of Poland! In fact, out of a total of 66000 polish soldiers who were killed during the invasion of 1939, only 7000 (less than 15%) were murdered by the Soviets, and the USSR signed the Ribbentrop-Molotov non-aggression pact only because the allies declined their offer to ally against Nazi Germany in 1939! The soviets requested military trespassing right from Romania and Poland in order to ally with the United Kingdom, France, Poland, and Romania against the Nazis, and the negotiations
discussable if it meets human needs better than the Soviet model did. In my country 49% of the people think the socialist economy provided them a better living, and 20% abstained, so the pro-capitalist feeling kind of died here in eastern Europe. Lenin was the first bloody Bolshevik.

It was a Keynesian economy, and later in the war it became a corporatist economy which had a nationalized slave labor sector, but the rest of the economic branches were still owned by the bourgeoisie... The Bolsheviks killed less people per year than the FBI does until 1924, and if we look at the crimes of the State police, Lenin's USSR was not worse than
@Vict0r1984: Instead of commisars, Nazi Germany had Gauleiters. They also had 5yr. plans. Nazi Germany's main difference w/ the USSR was that the German red flag had swastik on it, not much else.
So if the Nazis won how could they have been any worse than what the Bolsheviks were, atrocities both before and after the war. Not a nazi apologist here, but Hitler never forced collectives nor did he threaten every citizen like Stalin during the Purge. Yes, Nazi death camps were ample, and Stalin also employed their use throughout USSR; even used several nazi camps to house postwar enemies in E.Germany and Poland. I think what's important are the commonalities between the 2: centralsocialism.
like most documentaries on Stalin, they are filled with blatant lies. How can eight million kulaks be imprisoned in a gulag when, as pointed out by professor and sovietologist J. Arch Getty in his report "Victims of the Soviet Penal System", the prison population never even reached two million people?!? (found in pg.23) Pure rubbish, this clip is.
All good ideas just implemented in such a forceful way that it caused much grief and trouble , you can bitch all you want but if it wasnt for the soviets we would have lost the ww2 and we would all be nazis.
@arsenalfan125: If there had been no Soviet Union there would have been no WWII. Hitler could never have dared to invade Poland if Stalin had nont become Hitler's ally in this invasion. When Hitler was bombing Polish cities, Soviet radio operators guided the Nazis to their targets. When Hitler was attacking Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Netherlands & France; Stalin was aiding him all the way & ordering his Communist Parties in these countries to resist the national war effort. Wake up fool!
Although Stalin succeed in his Five Year Plan in Industrialisation, changing USSR and protecting USSR from Hitler's attack,he failed the Five Year Plan in Collectivisation and brought great sufferings to the kuklas and the people from Soviet Union.
What would have been an alternative to Stalin in the USSR? Trotsky? ha! he was a Zionist in the hands of the banking elite. Total workers control?? look what happen to Spain. Stalin was the right man for the right job and we should always remember him for his greatness.
I hope you realise that Stalin was actually confirmed by his doctor to be a "paranoid meglomanic". This doctor also 'disappeared'. He killed a hell of a lot of people and most of his policies were at a high human cost, granted he got Russia through but it wasn't the most efficient nor most practical way of doing so.
The kulaks were stocking their grain? That`s what the Bolsheviks thought. But in fact the Soviet statistics in 1928 were so distorted that the policies based on these statistics turned out to have horrible results. They took not only surpluses, but food. The result was a major famine.
They actually weren't stocking the grain, they had a certain amount they kept all Winter so they would have something to feed themselves but it wasn't a lot and weren't trying to push prices up for profit.
Stalin used them as scapegoats, realistically Kulaks were just peasants who were slightly more efficient farmers. He needed an excuse as to why Russia was no producing enough food to feed it's people.
Nobody crushed the Soviet Union. It collapsed. Because the SU modernized itself, but then it couldn`t cope with a modernized society. It was a self-defeat.
Let's get to the part where Master Chief won the battle of Stalingrad

TRUTH ABOUT STALIN
(I am Historian, have master's degree on Russian history)
Comrade Stalin killed lot of traitors in Communist Party.
Bad people joined the party because they wanted to make career.
They searched "enemies of nation" and killed them - to earn reputation!
Example:Khrushchev killed thousands of innocent Ukraine people,
and wanted kill more, but Stalin send him letter with words "Stop that, idiot!"
After the death of Stalin, Khrushchev came to power and blamed Stalin for all crimes
