@vampiresSakura - no, the shadow is completely optional! Ga-in's makeup is really centered on the eyeliner, so shadow isn't necessary :)

I've tried to do this 3 times without any success (it keeps looking like I drew fishes around my eyes). My lids have the fold. I think I have to blacken the whole lid. I'm going to keep practicing because it looks so cute.

@sinetheawhy - since you have a fold, I definitely recommend that you fill your lid with black shadow. This tutorial is geared towards those with monolids. Also, when drawing the two wings, the trick is to draw them PARALLEL to each other. They should not flick upwards or downwards, but should follow the lashline straight outwards. Also, be sure that you don't start the lower wing at the outer corner of the eye; start the wing 1/3 of the way from the corner. Hope this helped! :)

Hey! I think, if you have a relatively small crease, you can fill in the whole area with eyeliner. Otherwise, if you have a large crease, line your lashline as you normally do, but with a slightly thicker line :)

Yes, that is true. My monolids are quite a bit different than Ga-In's and extra eyeshadow/liner would give me the racoon-eye effect. :) Thank you though!
