The only thing I was was different is that the really loud intro repeated once. It sounds so cool but it's over in like 10 seconds. D: but amazing none the less.
Great version-must agree with post of godlovesyou333 1 year ago- the four movements of Scheherazade make up the most beautiful piece of music ever written.
the soloist did a good job.. last year my high school orchestra played this and i honestly think our concertmaster did better than this one.. no offence intended, its a hard piece and she did a great job :)
It is not unheard of for a violin soloist to tune a little sharp on purpose, to stand out. We don't really have much acoustic advantage compared to piano or winds.
...heard it live just an hour ago by Radio symphonie orchestra stuttgart/germany, conducted by christian arming - it was sensational, passionate, incredible :-)
@Hfaik These is a pretty good version on youtube preformed by the moscow symphony, it should be in the related videos. Rimsky-Korsakov- Scheherazede (1/5)
ohhhhhhhhh, i love this piece, heard it for first time on lp format 30 years ago, on the family tube amp stereo. Miss that "creamy" sound of vynil and tubes.
Generally competent performance of the classic Korsakov work. More strategic microphone placement would have greatly enhanced the aural experience, by giving a more balanced presentation of the string section. To me, the definitive performance of this piece was by Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra. The audio on that recording was exquisite and it may well have been a larger ensemble, which also makes a huge difference with this composition.
I'm a big fan of the preformance selected for the Royal Edition Collection. I don't recall the date, but its bernstein with the new york philharmonic.
BRAVO!
