Is this a joke , "be real lucky" to win ? Sound like some kind of lottery , supposed to be music , and you have to be good sounding (by some standards more or less) , not lucky..

its a contest.. so yes it is a lottery. There are a million guitarists who merely 'sound good' but what they look for is someone who stands out, not just plain ol sounds good. that's what its about. You seem to be missing the whole point. The music industry itself is a combination of luck, talent, timing and promotion.

@RNRDOLL Not missing anything. Been there and done that (and I'm NEVER going back). Know very well how music industry works. It;s show business and money manipulation, all other unfortunately do not exist. Though it should consist of some talent. Well talent is often mentioned but concerning how many talented people are not heard (and how many talentless are heard) It's only a cherry of hope to some that's what it is today.And that's why there are hordes of clones everywhere.

Especially that whole idea with play guitar to be rockstar ect. ect. is loads of bulls**t.They even made a game for it Playing music is about expressing life experiences through an instrument , whether is 1 note or a million , is it blues , rock heavy or whatever.

Its always been a cherry of hope, but its not really that much based on luck because most of it is networking. If you dont know the right people, you wont find yourself in a position to get your music out there efficiently. Having an image helps too, it seems shallow, but its another part of entertainment, thats the difference between talented people and people who make it

How long does it take to stick our riff videos here! I submitted mine awhile ago (48hrs) and keep checking it, but no sign! It is on Youtube though but not riffking page. and yes.. I did submit it through Riffking. Good luck to everyone....
