@EdgarRodriguez97 the firewire port is probably burned out in the camera. same happened to mine on the first day i had it. you have to get a cheap mini dv camera to play back onto the computer with.

Why do people still use the VX2000/VX1000 in professional skate films, sure its 3 chip, sure u can put a fisheye on it, but there are so many cameras out there hat shoot 3 chip and 1080p HD (and you and put a fisheye on it) for at least half the price! sometimes this world makes me want to throw up......... tsk tsk tsk....

The vx2 can pretty much do whatever colours you want and with editing nowadays the small colour difference that is perceived can be changed super easily with whatever you're using.

@Xevays i have a vx1k, and a friend of mine has a 2000. the chips/ 3ccd sensors in it are bigger in the vx2. this means the colors are going to be much more saturated and rich if u white balance correctly. so yes u can make them close but stock/without using color correction the vx1k will give u better colors if u use it correctly. not tryin to get into an arguement but i just saw your comment and figured i would tell u why vx1's have better colors.

@10deeppp man, i got one not knowing anything aobut manual settings, but while i was waiting for it to come in the mail i just looked online at how to use some of the functions, and when it finally came i just used what i learned and i've been told my footage looks good.

i'd learn how to set the custom presets, how to set the exposure appropriately, learn about different shutter speeds for different conditions, and white balance. the rest youll pick up when you get the camera

The VX-2000 was a great camera in its day. Very versatile and sensitive in low light. Great for low angle shooting, which is why it has been popular in the skateboarding community for a while now. But HD cameras are getting good enough and cheap enough now, that for the same money as a used VX, you can get an HD cam that will out perform the VX's image quality.
