BOTH.I recently bought a de luxe strat with compound radius,and I´m a happy camper.The last 10 years I have been using my trusted Ibanez Jem 77 fp with a scalloped neck.But having these 2,are so great.What one cant,the other one do with ease.An example,the bell like clean Strat,is hard to replicate for other guitars,and the Jems neck invite so much to play fast and furious.

I guess it all comes down to individual taste.But for me,these 2 guitars are exactly what I need to cover most things.

I own grg170dx Ibanez (all 250+ price models are very good)...they are cheaper and better than Fender!....I hook up my vamp3 and/or roland microcube and even with mediocre pickups being an economical model it sounds awesome...It allows faster playing and better grip, neck is so slender perfectly fits my hand without having to look the note I play....way better than low and mid priced fenders....I don't use whammy on my ibanez as they detune everything...other than that I am happy.

I like the Ibanez better, due to the fact I am a very aggressive lead guitar player at my church and my Ibanez RG350DX suits my style over my old Fender SE 50th Anniversary Gold Strat, but I have friends that swear by the Fender Strat. It's just a matter of preference. I won't flat out diss Fenders just because I prefer Ibanez and PRS guitars over the Fender Strats. Fender Strats are great guitars and just because someone doesn't like Fender does NOT give them a right to diss on Fender.

That Ibanez sounds awfully muddy...Though that could have more to do with your amp. For the money, the Fender is the better guitar. Having owned both, You can get a Fender with GOOD quality for around $350. To get an Ibanez of equal quality, you have to spend a lot more. I used to have a Mexican Stratocaster and that thing had great build quality and feel. I shopped for an Ibanez, and bought a Prestige S (For $1700), as it was the only one in the store that felt as solid as my Fender.
