  • Thanks for this great video! I have an original '73 Strat that i got when i was 18 yrs old. Very thin maple neck, 3 tone s'burst. I've treated it like gold dust as its of sentimental value so it's in fantastic condition. My late parents got it for me as a birthday present. Great sound Just had it re-fretted with huge frets. May i ask you, do you have problems with the 3 bolt neck?

Some of the slots were cut too big in the 1970s.

  • Hey @taildragger53, thx for your comment.

No problems at all with the three bolts neck. But I must say I never touched it. Everything was alright from the beginning on this guitar. Never even changed the frets :)

  • @Sigynnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Thanks for the reply. Good to know that you have not had any problems.

  • LOVE 70's strats, I don't care what anyone says

  • And you're dam right ! ;)

  • its beautiful

  • thx

  • Just rare Nitro finish '73 body! Beautiful...

  • thx man

  • use to own a 1970s strat with no whammy, cherry red, maple neck

  • hi sigynnnn, how much for that old strat?

  • hey man... sorry : not for sale

  • One in that condition usually goes for $3000.

BTW, Sigynnnnnnnnnn, I just played a '73, and they are INSANE! Congrats on owning one.

  • thx^^

These guitars have everything: the look, the sound, and an incredible neck ( mine a least) very thin and so easy to play...

  • damn very beautiful guitar you've got there take good care of that i myself have fell in love with fender guitar's from the 70's and 50's they are just too beautiful of an instrument to not play

  • great looking guitar iv just bought a natural 73 strat i love it .

  • put a DiMarzio HS-3 pickup on the bridge and put two DiMarzio YJM on the neck and middle position, scallop the neck, voila, u got the Yngwie Malmsteen model hehehehe....

  • Gratz for your knowledge of Yngwie's stuff. Thanks to him, 70's strats have a much better reputation now. But you know, my strat just whispered in my ears: "Dont change a single thing on me. I'm not a siliconed bimbo.."

  • @Sigynnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn my 2007 highway one sss strats remind me alot of

the 1973 strats. no S-1 switch or rolled frets just old school straight up legendary

strat tone and power! the highway one and 1973 strats are pure and true strat

    legends!!!

  • you should call that guitar 'sexual choclate'.

  • I love the big fat 70's headstocks although the 3 screw neck joint was an unusual design choice. Nice axe.

  • You're right. You know what, on my very old electric ladyland double vinyl LP, precisely on the big inside picture, Hendrix shows the same head (but with an ebony neck, and though the metal rod can't be seen). I always loved that design...

  • 1 of the nicest strats ive seen

  • Thanks. When you have your own "old" strat, it is really something...

  • Hi I've got an even nicer one for sale right now. Interested? It's exactly the same except it's in better condition and it's got a rosewood neck. Belgium Europe 0032486529289

  • Hi, how much for your guitar? are you sure everything is original?

  • I sold it 4 months ago.

  • Beautyful!!!

  • thanks man
