  • I would kill every single one of you to be at this show.

  • YOU GOT THAT FUCKING CLOSE TO TIM AND DIDN'T KISS HIM??????

  • This was a LONG TIME AGO.

  • Now that is fucking punk! I'm so glad we have bands like this in this generation so people can actually see that bands like Good Charlotte and and blink 182 are a bunch of fucking pussies.

  • I. Want. To. Go. So badly. I also love this version because it's so natural and relaxed unlike the more recent live shows where it looks kinda sorta almost a tiny tiny bit staged and fake. My dream is to see them at a basement show in their hometown.

  • Could you feel his soul?

  • This concert is probably the best ive heard tim's voice at live

  • can somebody .. write down the joke hear ? i cant understand it C sorry for my bad english ;D

  • @TheLastunOsEe What do pink floyd and dale earnhardt have in common? Their biggest hit was "The Wall"

  • @Liquidph34

    thanks dude

  • This was a fun night Much the Same opened up for these guys Thanx Dan, and Frank from MTS for taking me to see this

  • Fuck, did anyone notice how awesome 3:28 is? hahahaha

  • Why is LIL Wayne at bottom of the suggestion bar?

  • Wow, you were practically making out with Tim McIlrath, you were that close xD

If only they still did basement shows...

  • brandon should have done the badummtishhh after tim cracked that joke lol

  • wow this show is amazing! i would GIVE IT ALL to be there! :P

  • this is was sup a basement show jus like old times

  • SELLOUTS!

  • brandons such a beast of a drummer, definatly my favourite drummer out there, even compared to dave grohl

  • if i could play drums like that....

  • I think joe's closet is like Bad Religion Session, Bad brains session and the clash session of shirts haha

  • their best song.

  • I would've kissed him if I was the guy at 3:44... no homo

  • @Kurtplox oh all homo who wouldnt

  • holy shit drums sound great!

  • man i wish i could back to that permformance...to bad i was like only 10 -.-

  • the r.a. i learned to love

  • Right before they sold out.

  • @diabeticmonkey Agreed

  • @diabeticmonkey they haven't sold out...yet. this next album will really show us where they're going. if they pull an OAR and go greenday-like, then we can say they've sold out. before then lets hold judgement

  • @diabeticmonkey Man they didn't sell out, their just mainstream rock now. Which sucks but at least their back catalog is still awesome and plus Tim is still one of the coolest guys on Earth

  • @StraightPunkEdge93 Going from good hardcore to main stream rock is selling out. I don't want to argue, it's just that's what it's been called for years.

  • @diabeticmonkey selling out doesnt mean a band changed to a more mainstream sound...close, but not exactly. selling out is when a band changes their music/image for more money.

  • @diabeticmonkey selling out is when you bow down to your record label and let them tell you what to do, let them censor your music, let them change album art, music, names, and you dont give a shit because you want money and thats it.

Even if you go more mainstreamish as long as your controlling the name, the censorship, the artwork, and the fact youd rather be playing on stage for a thousand people, than having a thousand dollars in ur pocket., you havent sold out

  • @ChaosDragon018 I feel that they have changed their sound. Listen to Revolutions and then listen to the new stuff. It just doesn't have the same vibe or emotion. You could tell that Tim put so much feeling into the vocals, but now it's sterile. Maybe they didn't sell out. Maybe they just lost the magic.

  • @diabeticmonkey i can truthfully say ive listened to every single rise against song, not including covers, and yeah i will aagree that they may have lost some of that golden touch, but they still put heart and meaning into every song, and they may have lost some power in their lyrics as well, but tim's gotten older since RPM and SSotCC his voice isn't as powerful, but they still havent gone fully into the mainstream, they are,in my opinon, only a little into the mainstream not all the way.

  • @ChaosDragon018 I'm just hoping that they put out something that wows me again. I would be a very happy guy if they brought it back a little. Though, I guess you can't please everyone. My main point behind all this is the fact that there will probably never be more shows like this, and that kills the independence of it.

  • Comment removed

  • @diabeticmonkey well they still could release an EP that has some good raw hardcore stuff, like when they released "Rise Against 7 inch EP" after ATR which had songs that for some reason didnt make it on ATR Grammatizator and Voice of Dissent which goes back to the raw hardcore. Well maybe theyll get off Interscope and change to an independent label

  • @ChaosDragon018 Its not the same as it used to be bro. I'm not sure what it is but their newest CD makes me feel disillusioned from the original Rise Against. I hear people say "Oh I love Rise Against" and I put something like Black Masks or Everchanging, and their only response is "This isn't them". Their new stuff just doesn't speak to me the way it used to. I feel like their hearts aren't completely "in it".

  • @FindTheCourageToGrow when i first starting listening to them i only liked their new stuff but then listened to siren song, rpm, and recently the unraveling and i fell in love with it especially rpm the first time i heard black masks and gasoline i went nuts you could get a great quote out of every line in that song

  • @diabeticmonkey: Oh HELL no. Are you joking? "Sufferer and the Witness" was an AMAZING album. Not as hardcore as "RPM" (or "The Unraveling" for that matter. That shit is so sick) but it's still Rise Against. It still has the same style and sound, and Tim will always remain a lyrical (and most of the time) vocal genius! Everything they write about is stuff that the band as a whole is passionate about. Plus, a true RA fan knows that they like to play around with different styles and sounds.

  • omfg i wish i were there :((((

  • Man ...this is PUNK-ROCK :)

    I love Rise Against

  • that's how rise against should perform!

  • this must've been so sweet. Just to say you were at this before they were big is so cool

  • @monstassault101 This isn't them when they were a small band, this is after The Sufferer And The Witness

  • @skeletonjoe yeah i realized that after i posted it. The intro at the beginning sounded like it was some small gig when they weren't popular. It still would've be cool to see them before they were big

  • If Zach was there. He wouldn't have enough room to move.

  • ABSOLUTLY AWSOME!!

  • everything needs to be turned up.. but still awsome

  • badass song....jezzz u got hella close...Tim almost walked into u..lol

  • This song is simply amazing and this event is even better. I would give a lot to be there!

  • I love this song. And the video quality isn't bad. Good shit.

  • fuck brandon is an awsome drummer, so effortless

  • Tight! A Bad Religion shirt! I remember Tim showed up on that Bad Religion DVD release. I wish they would collaborate and go on tour together. That would be awesome!

  • @PyramidheadTPC55 your dream came true my friend....

  • where did Tim's guitar go? awesome song though

  • he doesn't play it in every single song

  • 3:29 awesome :D

  • ah this cracked me up...

  • who knew he was funny?

  • I LOVE THE JOKE XD. Rise Against fucking rules

  • this song is sooo amazing. one of my top five favorites. broken english is up there too =)

  • this is one of my favourites songs ever

  • i have the same shirt as joeRISE AGAINST RRULES!

  • Buenísimoooooo

  • Damn, where's my time machine....

  • i have an american dream ,

    it involves black masks

    & gasoline!

  • then I'll turn these thoughts into screams<3

  • Aaaaah dude, this is like my fave song!

I'd love to see it performed in a setting like this! Im so Jealous!

  • you should let us know when they play locally again, i live close by and ive been tryin to get them to play at clearwater in west dundee if u kno where that is

  • it was a show done in palitine Tim's home area that's gotta be how they got that show and i should know i live a half hour from there

  • Lucky son of a bitch!

  • lucky son of a bitch is right!

i would glady give a testicle 2 see Rise Against live! Shame they dnt have basement gigs lyk dis anymre!

  • hahahhaa yea right

  • Their needs to be more bands like this. A big, popular, major label band who will play a basement show to fifty people, if that.

  • Terror does it all the time.

  • how did you get in a basement show of rise???

  • LOL someone in the crowd knew the joke before Tim said it.

  • i would give a testicle to see them like this

  • I would give both

  • @lcbdroog i would give both

  • @lcbdroog Id give five.

  • @lcbdroog I'd give both and an eye, best band ever.

  • i have that same exact drumset hahaha look at my videos.

  • only thing i dont like about such a small environment, is how the drums can take over most of the audio, BUT, its fucking awesome

  • damn this was in 2006..

Nice to see that they did a gig this small when they were at such a high level

  • why isn't the crowd going fucking nuts?

goddamn, if i could see them in this intimate of a setting i would lose my shit.

    rise against deserves movement.

  • Amen!!

  • exactly man I just went fucking nuts in my room watching this :D

  • thx this vid. has showed my why i love them =)

the old stuff is much better than appeal ...

  • i dont agree, the appeal to reason is alot different but the lyrics are still amazing as well as the music, although it is alot less punky and more mainstream than the older stuff its still full of energy and the lyrics to all the songs are amazing if you understand them :D my least favourite song on the album is entertainment tho it sounds too studioish lol :P

  • yeah, you're right...i'd mean I like the other stuff more =) but you cant compare appeal to the other albums...The lyrics are really great...but you know, i had fear that they become meinstream... and now we got the sh!t ^^I still love rise against... and PS: liked them more with chris hahaha

  • yeah, you're right...i'd mean I like the other stuff more =) but you cant compare appeal to the other albums...The lyrics are really great...but you know, i had fear that they become meinstream... and now we got the sh!t ^^I still love rise against... and PS: liked them more with chris hahaha

(i wrote with my other account)

  • love venues that get you this close to a band! best shows I've been to are up close like this. This is a great vid, but the sound in this place doesnt sound the best.

  • yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

  • AMAZING!:)

But.. what is he saying about Pink Floyd?!

  • @93eiki23 Dale Earnhardt was a professional nascar driver who died in a crash when he hit the wall head-on. the joke was "What do Dale Earnhardt and Pink Floyd have in common? Their biggest hit was the Wall"

Im a nascar fan and found it kinda messed up, but what ev

  • Amazing, (:

  • That's awesome!!!!!!!! Why would they do a basement show. Best band ever!!!!!! Keep rockin!

  • This is by far the best Rise Against vid. I'm amazed that there are only 26,000ish hits cause this is a diamond in the rough.

God, I really wish I could go back 5 years ago and relive the show I saw of them exactly similar to this. Killer song too.

  • if rise against goes here on where i live...

    WOOT!

    I'll go nuts,or better

    GO RISE AGAINST! xD

  • boo you made a lame joke

  • BOOOO!

  • haha, that was terrible mate.

    x

  • What the Hell is wrong with that guy standing in the back with his arms crossed?

If I was this close to Rise Against playing, I'd be bouncing off the walls.

  • lol same, i think it was thier manager or something tho, and i would love to be at this basement party.

  • hes stage security

  • Is it just me, or is Tims hair, like, receding? No offence if you're reading this, mate.

  • He's got a fanned mohawk dude.

  • oh my god. that is fucking amazing.

  • every time i watch this video i get a little sick. just the thought of being so close to theses guys is overwhelming. Great video and mad respect to who ever shot this.

  • FREE! WHAT THE FUCK. god i wish i was there for this.

  • omg so close to them..fuck..lol..so damn lucky where was this basment party???

  • Palatine, IL

  • is that a small town or big

  • It's a fairly large suburb near Chicago.

  • Is it just me or does Joe remind you guys of Borat?

  • lol

    i don't think so.

  • I think he does.

  • i well wish that rise against wud play in my local's basement

  • mannn, i wanna sing into a mic with tim...

  • that show is fucking insane. i cant even imagine seeing them in a basement that small.

  • Edit:

That crowd in that show sucked, but it would be nuts to be there with a crazy croud.

  • I've addressed the crowd situation that people have brought up on some of the other videos from that show. Rise Against was the last band to play that night, and there was an incident prior to this, and there was a risk of the show getting shut down by cops that were sitting across the street, so everyone was keeping cool. Plus, before RA played, the basement had to be cleared and fans were put down there during setup because the concrete floor got super slippery.

  • The structure of that dudes house is also pretty messed up right now, in part because of the shows and such that happened there, so everyone was trying to keep somewhat cool out of respect for his home.

  • ahhh understandable.

  • i fucking love these videos man

  • irra!

  • Impresionante *O* *O* *O*

Ojala algun dia pueda asistir a un concierto de Rise Against *O*

  • simply awesome...

  • I wish rise against would play in my basement for free ...

  • The drummer's shirt is "A Wilhelm Scream" shirt. Saw AWS at that same basement.

  • Alright thanks man.

  • tickets for this show must have been a bitch to get/pay for
