  • Dear Kina -- you are so inspirational. Thank you for the music you share with the world.

  • Aww! :'( DFTBA and stay strong, Kina!

  • the music in the background is truly beautiful.

    as is the video.

as is the message you're trying to spread.

    as are you, kina.

  • looks like 12 people are heartless and probably got coal in their stockings when santa came to visit..

  • Oh Kina, please don't cry. It almost hurts to see someone like you get teary eyed. But, I think it really shows us that you are truly a genuine, caring person. You're an inspiration to all of us here, I'm sure. I wish your mother the best, and I'm glad to know she is your inspiration for being a better person; that's probably what any parent wishes. Going to donate right away. Bless all the souls out there that are suffering from these illnesses. Maybe one day we'll find cures, soon...

  • I never want to see Kina like that again. I love you-3 Stay Strong & Keep Smiling :)

  • Yep, I cried as soon as Kina started to. <3

  • Great Video!

  • right on for supporting the L&L Society, my mother died from complications from a form of lymphoma a few years ago so this is a charity and association close to my heart. And with how cancer pervades all cultures in the world the more that can be done to help future people the better.

  • Hello Kina :) You know what? I would love to donate as well (I really want to!!), but I barely know how to do so. :( I'm only 16 years old :) I want you to know that my dad has leukemia now, and we just knew it 2 months ago.. It makes me really sad but you enlighten us, my dad & I, with the use of your talent of singing. Always! Stay strong and God bless you! You are amazing. I hope to see you soon here in the Philippines :)

  • @annelovesyoux25 ask your parents if they'll let you donate blood to the Red Cross because cancer patients and all hospital patients always need blood. My mom had a form of Lymphoma and blood donations from others helped her immensely.

  • Kina, You have my donation to P4A. I lost my grandmother to cancer, I feel your pain and share your tears. Your message brought all the emotions back. P4A couldnt have prayed for a better person to speak for their cause. I pray for you, your sisters and of course your mother. I never miss your show when you're here in SF, I'm your biggest fan. Your voice is not only the most beautiful instrument, its also the voice to carry on the message of P4A. God bless you and your family.

  • Hi Kina, I'm living on the opposite side of the world and I identify with and feel your pain. My father has been battling against leukaemia for 18 months and it has shook me to my foundations at how short life is and how we need to appreciate every breath.

I have only come across your beautiful music for the first time today and I have really enjoyed and been in awe of your song writing and musical talent....also a beautiful heart. Thankyou for sharing so openly and honestly :)

  • You made me cry, stay string

  • Stay strong.

  • KINA GRANNIS I LOVE YOUUUUUUUUU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART

  • Going to have surgery in a couple days because of a lymphoma scare. The biopsy showed a possibility of cancerous cells so they need to go a step. I have been battling other health problems since I was 7 so I am really hoping it's not another thing on my plate at age 19.

  • awwww, Its ok to cry Kina. It shows how authentic you are and how really passionate you are about the issue. I must confess that I couldn't look at you crying because I started getting teary eyed myself and when I see someone cry for a legit reason its contagious.

God Bless you and your family and I hope and I know God will carry you through this tough time (and any family struggling with this issue) if you let Him.

Thanks for giving ur testimony, it was truly touching.

  • I recently (spelling?) lost my mother in Lymphoma...

  • Hey lady - I have lost a lot of family members to cancer =( You're right, it's a stupid disease that doesn't make any sense why people get it. I am really glad you are trying to bring people in to recognize and DO something about it =)

  • I was just talking to your mom yesterday at the SF KGST meet up. She is super nice and seems like an amazing mom! :) I love you Kina! This video made me tear up...just a little. HAHA

Your words touches my soul in the most wonderful way.

    Thank you!

  • Aww Kina this brought me to tears. I lost my grandma very recently to brain cancer and it was the most terrible thing I've ever had to witness. Today was her birthday, and just watching this and thinking about it made me tear up.Thanks for doing this and bringing awareness to all cancers. You're such a positive and inspiring person. :)

your doing the same thing, so your mom must be so proud of you!

  • my wishes are with you kina <3 xx :')

  • Tell your mom Jack says hi.

  • More than 85 years ago a scientist named Otto Warburg won 2 Nobel Peace prizes for determining the cause of cancer.

"All normal cells have an absolute requirement for oxygen, but cancer cells can live without oxygen - a rule without exception." – Dr. Otto Warburg "Deprive a cell 35% of its oxygen for 48 hours and it may become cancerous." – Dr. Otto Warburg.

7stepstohealth -->(dot)com this book has cured a lot of people, people are starting to know..

  • I lost my aunt and uncle a few years ago. I think I know how you feel Kina and Im very glad you do this. Everyone if you love your relatives and friends please donate. Cus this can happen to one of them too.

  • you're heart is incredible, and your mother's must be even more beautiful

  • i can proudly say without beeing ashamed that i had to wipe away a tear! :)

  • how could u dislike this

  • I cried with you, Kina. <3

Wishing the best of things for you and your mother, your family, and everyone effected by cancer. That will have to be enough until I can afford to donate.

  • Happy new year!

I hope this year will change things for a lot of people who have had a lot of misery in their life. ^^

  • I don't often almost tear up but damn, when a girl is about to cry...i just like... have a soft spot in my heart

  • im like in love with her....

  • Her tearing up in the video is just another example of how open and honest Kina is to her fans. If you don't get inspired or have no desire in giving back, you've either lost all hope in humanity or you're a vampire.

  • Kina, You can still be a strong person even if you cry... Everyone has that one thing that affects them like that... Stay bright cause now your brighter than the sun... Keep up the great music and so on.... Everyday you make me wanna be an even better person... lots of love to!!!

  • wow this was hard to watch

  • u know the ppl that disliked are real AHoles

  • I cried.

  • people who dislike this deserve leukemia...

  • Kina, the only thing more heartbreaking than suffering from cancer is to know that it is also killing the people you love. Especially for a mother. She loves you and wishes you happiness more than anything. Stay strong, and try to be accepting. I wish you all the best.

  • this is beautiful<3 i live on kauai and try my best to share amazing music i hear with everyone here.. hahah you have qwite and audiance over here. you are a truly genuine person kina<3 keep shining!!<3

  • I LOVE YOU KINA GRANNIS! Seeing you cry makes me want to save the world to dry those tears from your eyes...

Sounds kinda psycho...I know...let me have it world...lol

  • kinna you are amazing <3 =)

  • I'm so sorry, this can happen to anyone, so I'm really sorry kina granis.

If htis is horible just imagine how callas some secret organisations are in what they call "de-populising" certain regions of the world, through letting loose diseases and commiting genocide.

Every person that died and dies, is someone's mother, someone's father, someone's brother, cousin, sister, uncle.

  • Not sure why you felt the need to apologize for crying when you talked about your mom's struggle with cancer. I'm a Marine, so I don't even have tear ducts....but I would have cried as well.

  • @riffism If you don't mind me saying sir, the connection you made with being a marine and not having any tear ducts says alot about what organisations like the army or the marine corps and war in general do to humans, they rip their insides out and with it your humanity.

War is horrible... like bill hicks once said, lets stop stealing oil, stop wars, collaborate with each other and maybe we can explore space for real, and do our race "the human race" justice.

  • @Bak3dB3an....seriously? I was making a light-hearted comment. Obviously, I have feelings just like every other human being. I have a family member who is a cancer survivor. Don't try to speak on something that you have absolutely no experience in...it only makes you seem narrow-minded and ignorant...and don't distract from this girl's message with your silly unrelated nonsense and conspiracy theories.

  • Thank you for being so real.

  • lol cute but I agree leukemia is evil and stupid :T

  • @miltmiltlu why the lol? I don't think you should laugh about it

  • Kina, you bring back the humanity we all sometimes lose as we travel through this world. Thank you for that.

  • Kina, your pause was beautiful in the sense that it brought reality to your message. You have no idea how grateful I and countless others are for the strength you and your family give.

It doesn't matter when, the day of P4A or years to follow, people should donate. I hope that people can find it in their hearts, souls, brains, whatever you want to call their emotional center, to give even just a little. I can only pray now that we will act on the urge to help that we all feel.

  • I'm going to donate what little I can. I have a friend living 8 years with Leukemia and it is getting more and more manageable every year! It's O.K. to cry. I think more people should be able to cry. It seems like anything makes me cry nowadays. :Then again almost anything makes me smile too.

Thanks for sharing the information Kina!

  • "Crying doesn't indicate that you're weak. Since birth, it has been a sign that you are alive."

God bless you and your mom.

  • oh Kina...I'm just now getting a chance to watch this...I cried. You're such a beautiful soul. I donated all that I could afford.

  • my mum didnt survive it. i was 5 years old when she died. now 23, it still makes me sad. i wished i had more time with her. i really just wished i knew my mum.

so please do donate and support this cause. it just could save the misery of a little girl who might lose her mum to cancer.

  • love that you say at the end your sorry for losing it for a moment. You have nothing to be sorry about cancer sucks and its a terrible thing. My mother had breast cancer now almost 6 years ago. She still hasnt had a relapse and is doing great.

    im sorry about ur mom

  • this is brilliant. my little brother david had non hodgekins lymphoma when he was 5 and died shortly before his seventh birthday, so this is absoloutely wonderful for me <3 in october i climbed mt schehallion for clic sargeant, a cancer charity, i believe that even little things help so me and my friends & family managed to raise £2429 for the charity. you and your mom are in my prayers, hope you get through this :)

  • I'm sorry for you Kina, for what you've been living, you're suffering a lot, and I can share your pain, because when I saw you crying, my heart bled, and I cried too

Be strong Kina, I know it isn't easy, but live every seconds of your life, with your mother show her that you're proud of her, cause she's proud of you, we all are

And you need to talk about it a friend or even your mother, open your heart, because if you don't do it you'll regret it the rest of your life

    May god help you Kina

    Love.

  • Lost my best friend to leukemia. RIP. God bless everyone else suffering. <3

  • Anyone out there with cancer: look into alternative treatments! Intravenous vitamin C in large amounts kills tumor cells.

  • @acousticaptitude Citation needed.

  • @DanThePropMan Google it and you'll find more information than you can read. Also google Linus Pauling and his work on vitamins, especially ascorbic acid(vitamin c).

  • this was your best video ever!

  • a good friend of mine is in the Vancouver Childrens Hospital with Leukemia.

Fortunately they cought it early on, and he has a good chance of 100% recovery.

Cancer is evil, and no one should have to go through it.

  • (sorry for my english, Kina)

I had a similar illness to Leukemia last year. During the time I spent in the hospital there were times I was near death ...

And ... do you know what? What I really would have liked to be around me in those moments that I lived was someone like you. Anyone truly concerned about my health ... But even if I hadn't that special someone, I found within me the strength to go on living ...

    Don't cry,baby... everything will go well... I m sure... ;o)

  • how can anybody dislike this? i LOVE you kina!! <3

  • You are a beautiful person and it's good to spread the message of awareness of this terrible disease. My father had Leukemia like 9 years ago, after an intense chemotherapy he was doing fine until October 2009 when unfortunately he was again diagnosed with cancer, this time a tumor was found in his left lung.

The biggest issue in my part is that here - in The Netherlands - people abuse the word cancer in a verbal way. That hurts people like me or anyone else who lost a loved one to cancer.

  • Don't apologize for your reaction - it just shows your humanity and what a wonderful person you are. :) Thanks for opening up and good luck with the project. I'm adding the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society into one of our dress down fundraisers here at work for 2011. If everyone who sees your exerpt does a little bit, it'll go a long way. :)

  • Your mom sounds absolutely amazing. I hope she stays as well as she is. I pray that your mom can make it through everything. My mom had cancer for nine years and was only supposed to live a year, but she stayed strong and was the most caring, loving person and friend to everyone. Sadly, she passed away when I was in 8th grade as I am now a freshman in college I will always have the memories of my mom and how much she loved and cared about me. God bless you and your family.

  • leukaemia killed my best friends brother :'(

    R.I.P Matthew

i havn't seen my friend for over a year because we got sent to different high schools. i hope her sister and her are still being strong :'(

  • I lost my granddad on December 23, 2007 due to Pancreatic Cancer. I saw him almost a month before he died and he told me about the regrets he had, the things he was not able to do for his children and grandchildren. My granddad lived his life more during his last days on this earth than he ever did before hand. I miss him ALL the time. Kina you are a sweet sweet soul and your mom is BLESSED to have you :) Thank You for Sharing :) I shared this video and added it to my favorites <3

  • dude i'll kill the people who disliked this

  • @TitsViolator theres just sick and idiotic ppl out there it shows how long our world is

  • @TitsViolator theres just rlly sick ppl out there it just shows how low our world is

  • @TitsViolator 2542 people are wondering the same thing, but just 'cause the trolls are there doesn't mean you have to pay them mind. Peace.

  • @TitsViolator Well start killing lol cause there r 8 dislikes so far :P

  • @TitsViolator Good to hear that you are not one of them, i mean you could get thrown off a little bit since your username is TITSVIOLATER :)

  • I love how your name looks like Kilo Grams :P

  • Why you say sorry for that? it's normal and everyone knows how you feel, so please don't say sorry for that <3

Sooo a big hug from Holland!

  • I somewhat knew from the day I learned my cousin Miggy died of leukemia that I would to get into med research to help fight cancer. So now I'm doing my undergrad thesis on a protein involved in cancer metastasis, hoping to do more in the future.

Please support cancer research! No one should have to deal with this horrible disease. :(

  • Please turn the music down, I can hardly understand what your;re saying sometimes

  • why would anyone dislike this? retarded!

  • i want to give you a hug so bad ..

  • Kina, this touched my heart. October 14th 2010, my grandmother was diagnosed with bowel cancer. December 5th 2010 she passed away. She underwent treatment that would give her an extended 6 months on top of the 12 months the doctors gave her. Words couldn't describe her. She was one of the closest family member I had. She was aged 76, yet the strange thing was she wasn't negative about it. She said she had a great life.

    December 23rd is her funeral.

Kina thank you. That's all I can say. <3

  • I love you so much Kina. You are so beautiful inside and out. <3

  • youre amazing *full-stop*

  • one day cancer will be all gone... i really hope that this works.

  • Kina, I'm praying for you and your mom. I want you to know that I support you 100% because of everything cancer has done to not only my family and I , but also my friends. My mom works as a nurse with Adult Bone Marrow Transplant at Duke Hospital and also, I have volunteered with multiple cancer patients throughout the past two and a half years of my life at Duke, so we are both very familiar with blood cancers and are helping others to fight it every day of our lives. Bless you for this<3

  • I cired watching you cry. I support you and I hope one day we can beat cancer.

  • I support you

  • Now is the time for prayer!! Be strong! My friend has cancer, but the prayer is working, God is great!

  • Thank you so much for this video. My grandfather died of pancreatic cancer. I'll make sure to give to this organization. God bless you and your mom for your beautiful hearts.

  • The 5 people who voted negative don't have a heart.

Thanks for sharing this with us Kina. You're really special and it's really brave you did this.. :)

  • @youraveragegirl i agree. how could anyone dislike this?

  • ouw, you made me cry:( my mom's sister has leukemia and the doctors gave her 1year to live. She's like a mom to me, and it's so hard to see her after knowing she's not going to be there so long. Every night I just pray God to bless her and that she would be there until I am 18 and graduating. All my blessing for you and your family!

  • Kina thank you for posting this. It's really really brave and I know this sort of thing isn't easy to share.. I've grown up watching my father struggle with heart disease, in and out of hospitals, that sort of thing. I know what it's like to have to watch loved ones be burdened with illness.

I just wanted to let you know I connect with this and it makes me love you and your music even more. I can tell you have a kind and wonderful heart.

  • dont say sorry because you lost it there. it shows how beautiful you are and how much you care about this. you're an amazing person and thank you so much for making this video cuz it warmed my heart

  • Ifff I had a good cam I would post a video. I recommend donating to the V Foundation for cancer research. They partner with ESPN and NCAA basketball every december and I believe have raised almost 100 million$ since the early 90s. I believe in cancer research and in the fight to help people like Kina and all those I personally know who have suffered... <3

  • Kina, you made me cry ... you're right cancer is evil and stupid :(
