  • how do you use the bipod?

  • usually... i check the whole mountain top to bottom then i fuck with infantry...

  • @9915gonzama It's just to show that the obvious places are never a good place to hide. It can be taken to any map/position.

  • @Arne882k very true.. lol sorry being a bit critical.. great vid..

  • Pro tip... DONT PUT A FLASH LIGHT ON YOUR SNIPER

  • You forgot to mention not to hug trees, a big form coming off of a tree is very easy to spot.

  • cool

  • 4:56 or you could just press the suicide button :)

  • its ok this video is old.ok

  • sorry but you run around with your equipment and goes around all the time. the principle did not find the video and you know it but disguised.

  • Thanks for the upload. Which part of the army were you in? That's really cool that you were in the army. Must be some realistic tips! Thanks!

  • not good sniper this is bad.

  • @nadineseline rhis has nothing to do with sniping. this is stealth. check my channel if you want to see real recon. being one of the highest ranked recon players in the world, gives some credibility atleast

  • 6 shot for kill is bad.

  • @nadineseline this video is very old and if u check my hits per kill and hs per kill you will find me very high up the list. i made this video right after i had gotten the game. my aim is above decent at worst. but this video has nothing to do with that

  • 4:57 Ninja's smoke bomb technique lol

  • 5 S's of Camouflage (SAS use this)

Shape: break up your shape by hiding in a bush, your shape won't be as distinct.

Silhouette: (I get a lot of counter snipes when people forget this one.) don't stand on top of a hill, you will be perfectly silhouetted against the sky, stand on the lower hill with the larger hill behind you.

    Shadow: your shadows are visible

Spacing: keep spacing between squad-mates, that way you're squad will be harder to spot, and you won' get taken out by one RPG..

  • I love the video and especially dont go to the highest points. Thats what I tell my friends who are tryin to become a sniper. I do want to know one thing and that is when you said the glare of the scope. Are you sure its not the light attached to the gun?

  • I knew almost everything in this video except: you were in the military and that spot on the map. What military were you in? British?

  • @MrJp990 Norwegian ;)

  • @Arne882k Damn... That is pretty cool to find out. Oh, nice video, by the way.

  • Comment removed

  • @killersrke I have. I have gotten marksman 1247 before. But that was a lucky shot with the suppressed SV-98 with a bipod.

  • nice tips thx

  • @DemonToxicZ3112 Thanks for watching, more videos on my channel ;)

  • for shallow, for ps3 nd xbox its the select button wen ur crosshairs r ovr an enemy. or u can ask ur teammates for ammo, health, or repairing by select.

  • pretty good drawing

  • @Cup353 you unlock the M40A5 at 104,000 sniper xp. the M98B then immediatly follows it taking 42,000xp! (You unlock the m98 at 146,000 recon score *Approx*)

  • Another good tip is, When you see a enemy, don't just go blastin' away at them, just follow them around a bit, sometimes they may even lead you to their teamates...

And, When your hiding in area with alot of bushes, if the other team is stupid enough, hide in between the gaps in the bushes, they'll think your just another bush..ttthheennn you blow there head off....

  • How do u spot enemies for ur team (yeah imma noob lol) for ps3

  • They need to add ghillie suits to this game.

  • Is the M98B directly after the M40A5? Or is there an item in between?

  • @Cup353 Directly after, yes.

  • Im gunna bust ur balls n say the recon class doesnt wear a helmet lol

  • @PickeKid heh well, it applies to the other classes aswell, but the head itself is kinda shaped like a bulb, if you stick it out somewhere un-natural, its very easy to spot when someone just runs past you. Tons of times ive seen people sticking out or wearing a black camo on desert maps, far up in the mountains from the corner of my eye.

  • Once i got a 1124 Marksman :)

  • A great video. A tip i would give is that remember what attachments you have on your rifle. For extreme ranges, A 12x and a Bipod are great. For medium ranges, a 7 or 8x scope, straight pull bolt, and perhaps a silencer, depending on the situation. For closer ranges, a 4x or less, straight pull bolt, and a laser attachment. REMEMBER YOUR ROLE

  • meanwile in cod, someone is quickscoping at close range like a n00b

  • never project your silhouette against the sky ...kinda reminds my of AA a long time ago

  • at 1:35

i would have put my first shots at the counterweight on the back off the crane so i could get the drop accurately. since many snipers will spook if you hit close to them.

  • @SCARREDMIND Yeah I have another video on aiming tips, I wasn't really prepared when I made this. Its my first video. I talk about measurement shots in a video I made later ;)

  • awesome great vid

  • @ordan787 appreciate it!

  • lol camping snipers are you high. What do you think a sniper does this isn't call of duty.

snipers don't run up close and quick scope. The people you should bitch about camping are the people with assault rifles .

  • @zealotelder Actually, I prefer going aggressive as a marksman for my team, not the Sniper kind of gameplay. Being the sniper is a good way to play it, the thing is that you only need 1-2 guys doing it in a game, because you need the firepower in front to get objectives and win. Sadly way too many people are doing it now, that's why I dont. Check my channel for my "how to recon" ;)

  • @zealotelder So you think there is no middle ground? Only up close quickscoping or hanging out at the very far reaches of the map? lol. There is nothing wrong with being mobile as a sniper. It isn't COD you are right, but it also isn't real life.

  • @zealotelder Although i do agree with you on the 'snipers don't camp' thing, I don't believe assault soldiers really camp either, If anything it should be encouraged in this game if you want to win and get your kills, cause it's meant to be realistic, and as you said its not call of duty, Therefore in battlefield camping doesn't exist.

  • Ur from Norway or sumthing?

  • Terrible advice!

  • @D00MWEED Yet this is what your tought to stay alive IRL..... hmmm.... odd

  • @Arne882k Nobody respawns IRL too ya DUMBASS!!

This is a VIDEO GAME so quit it with your IRL crap! Nobody cares!

  • @D00MWEED Too much weed DOOMWEED?

Actually, tons of stuff from RL can help you do better in battlefield.

Ask jet pilots, ask tank drivers, and ask footsoldiers.

The best jet pilots are the one who actually can perform real life manouvers to get away from chasers. SO ILL USE THE END OFF MY POST TO SHOW YOU THAT I ALSO HAVE A CAPS LOCK BUTTON

  • @Arne882k Soooo you're pretty SPECIAL huh.

  • @D00MWEED obviously not as a special as you.

  • @Arne882k what are you 5? grow up!

  • I just like to rock my Spec ops all black camo lol even if Im right on a desert strand, I just like to look cool as I kill u lol

  • NORWAY ALL THE WAY BABY

  • Nice video. If you don''t mind me asking--what accent are you?

  • @Harbinger10892 Norwegian ;) and thanks, feel free to check out my channel for more videos.

  • @Arne882k And so I am assuming you were in the Norwegian Army? Nice, I'm going into the US Army. You have my respect fellow soldier =p

  • This video was shit, nothing informational at all. You could have just showed all the text in the beginning of the video. Other than what I read, your video was pointless. How does it feel to make shitty videos?

  • @TheGrimReefer727 Well considering all the positive feedback, and this beeing my first video ever. I feel pretty good about it actually. How does it feel to be a no friends loser who gets back at the world by talking down to people on youtube? Grow a pair.

  • @TheGrimReefer727

This video is awesome for newbies which it is made for.

Boy (girl?) I think you are exactly that kind of person which annoys game communities. No friends, playing 24/7, average skilled (maybe more with respect to the time you spend), believing you're the best posting lousy comments.

But at least I can tell you one thing that might comfort your attention-whore-soul ... you are soooooooo badass!

  • mmm, shitty camping snipers, the scum of battlefield.

  • @dalton9931 I agree, if you check my channel you will hear my repeating this over and over again "I do not encourage players to camp in the back of the map". This is ment for understanding that camo and your positioning is important, even when your on the frontlines.

  • @dalton9931 Taste good??

  • at 3:10 its called "skylineing yourself".

  • @45Biggamehunter I only knew what its called in Norwegian. Thanks for the input ;) I'll remember that!

  • @45Biggamehunter Silhouette. If you want a proper military term.

  • @WhiteFang103 Yeah that's what we called it as well, only the norwegian term, which is pretty similar.

  • another tip if you are not sure if it a person (500m orsumthing away ) just spot em and youlle see if its a person or not\

  • everytime i go sniping (M40A5) i leave my squad and enter an empty one so i can spawn one my beacon but no one else because everytime somebody spawns at me i have to find an new spot becuase i was totally spotted by all snipers -.- so thats an good tip make sure nobody can spawn on you!!!

  • @Ecktunbaas That way of playing the recon is usually not very helpful to the team tho. Just saying. Check my How to recon videos :)

  • AC/DC THUNDERSTOCK in the background =)

  • er du norsk?

  • @thommascool yes

  • Problem is no one is on these spots because there all in vehicles. . .

  • @purejshots1 I'm not saying you should be on a mountain, its something that can transfer to any spot on the map.

  • @Arne882k i got one more question is the L96 better then the M40A5?

  • @ManUtdBoy13 I think so. They have the same reload time, same damage. In theory the same scope sway (alltho some people say that M40A5 have slightly less). And L96 has higher bullet velocity.

  • A recon soldiers making a video about how to be a good recon soldier ? Reconsoldierception

  • @maarc3D - They didn't look small!

  • @BBTEairsoftteam1 - I will. In what way is it better?

  • Very nice Video you made, good tips i like it!

  • i got the same dog tags as you:))

  • @lolepicfailhaha Headshots ftw! :) 8508 now!

  • @Arne882k dude you said u been in the army then can you plz say what the dots and lines on the scope is for(know that it's the distance but not what sort of dictions, like 250 or 500 meters?)

  • @ManUtdBoy13 Sure. The mil dots in real life is The width or the height of a target / mil dots) x 1000 = the distance. So if the person your aiming at is 1.8m tall, a standard height. And hes covering 2mil dots on your sight, he is 1.8 / 2 x 1000 = 900m. In battlefield tho, we just use it by remembering the distance, I think 1 mil dot down on the M40A5 is roughly 400m, and 500m on the M98b. So use the objectives to find the distance of the target. And remember how many mil dots you adjusted to.

  • @Arne882k thank you i been wondering about that and it got me killed many times when i haven't been able to know how much it was. now when i know i bet it will help me a lot

  • @ManUtdBoy13 NP. This changes depending on scope tho. but at 550m+ the 12x is best. The downside is that its poor on close-medium range compared to 8x. I allways use 8x. Sv98 drops more than m40a5 too

  • Very good the ¨Helmet¨ tip... battlefield isn't a game, it's a simmulator

  • Aren't there scopes IRL that prevent sun glare?

  • @baron8107 Yes, you can get scopes or change the glass on your old scope to a non reflective one. There is also a type of tape you can put on it that has the same effect

  • @Arne882k

Hmm, wonder why they didn't put it in this game, would be nice.

  • @baron8107 There was no glare in earlier battlefield series. But in Bf3 recons took a big nerf, no C4, no claymore, no 1 hit kill for body shots and a ridiculous scope glare. I agree with some of the changes, but all of them? :s Wish we still had C4 atleast, and the scope glare could be toned down a bit

  • @Arne882k long like on caspian border the atenna to.checkpoint(B) conquest

  • I play Black Ops, and I always like to hide and snipe, but I always get found. Why?

Is it because the camouflage is terrible? The map's are too small? Or do only the crosshairs work on Black Ops, and not the crosshairs around the middle? Last of all, is battlefield 3 a good idea to buy instead of MW3? Hope someone replies!

  • @TheUKNutter Battlefield 3 is wayyyy better than MW3. Definately buy BF3 DO IT haha

  • @TheUKNutter the maps are waaaaay too small! Compared to battlefield, i wouldnt have even bothered putting sniper rifles in.

  • er du norsk???

  • @sk8jonna yup

  • I need help for the bullet drop i usually fire atleast 1 and a half magazines into the enemy then he kills me

  • @xMW3xWolfzZz What kind of ranges are you talking about then

  • @ 0:40 , see the plane xD

  • nice vid didn't get bf3 yet but hopefully it is going to be fun. I played mw3 and it isn't that great in snipers but i like sniping in bfbc2 so when i get the game hopefully it is going to be fun to snipe in. btw to that person who said there is no lens glare in bf3 on x box you have to be dumb because in the beta version i even saw it...

  • @XhmoobXboiX You will probably enjoy sniping in Bf3 too, but its allot harder considering body shots isnt a 1hit kill. Hope you enjoy my videos tho, if you plan to watch more of them ;)

  • Nice tutorial! My biggest problem is "range finding". Any tips on how to gauge range? Any way to do that with the scope itself?

  • @yod4poolman my personal exp. is to use the scale size of the target. Gives you a solid way to gauge it. And it seems to work well. Sometimes all you can see is just a bit of the head. Best bet then is to take your time sighting your target and dont give up your location. Chances are you're dealing with a decent sniper.

  • @segx guess I'm not sure what you mean by "use the scale size". I thought I saw a video about using the dots on an 8x (like 1 dot left by 2 dots high or something like that) but I'm not sure

  • If we erase the / on 3:07 it says find a spot where your helmet head blends in more naturally

  • I like to make sure I have a backround behind me. I also throw a nade in the spot I want to be in to make a black area to lie in.

  • I can clearly hear ur norwegian :p

  • do you think sniping on pc is easy? because ive played recon and i cant hit a damn thing.

  • @KillerRetardz I would say recon with a bolt action rifle is probably the hardest thing to do, atleast if your gonna do well over long periods of time. I don't find it easy at all, I always need to be focused. If you make 1 bad shot you usually end up dead, atleast when going aggressive.

  • This should be called how not to win at bf3. If you want to get first place in every map be a support and drop ammo and use the m60. And cap bases for the love of god cap bases. Every time I play this damn game the retard smokers never try to cap bases

  • @hawk6111 I suggest you take a look at my other vids before you start saying ignorant stuff like that

  • @hawk6111 He's talking about a recon. Not a support, jack-ass.

  • Another tip while sniping. To avoid over using the aim and being vulnerable because of scope glint use your pistol zoom to get that little extra help when spotting. When you spotted an enemy you can focus in with your 12x scope so keeping the glint to a minimum.

  • turn the fucking game volume dwn

  • i did what you did in this same map just different bolt action and did 15-0 thanks for your suggestions

  • does the silencer have any negative effects on snipers?

  • @MotoX071 it does if your using bolt action sniper rifles the drop becomes ridiculous so i suggest you dont put silencer one if you dont want to deal with the extra bullet drop

  • @MotoX071

Yes don't use silencer on any bolt action rifles only the auto's and use it for close/medium range sniping with the 3.4 scope ;)

  • I remember playing Caspian Border i was trying to capturing B (consoles) i was wearing a black camo i was sitting in a bush while a tank rolled up it stayed for minutes and i was hoping itll go away but it shot around me so i was fucked and killed me. :(

  • Hey get a xbox 360 so u can show me more skills and when u do my gamertag is R0DR1GEZ301 the E might be a 3 an the 1 might be a I

  • Hey get a xbox 360 so u can show me more skills

  • I did learn one thing from this video, that my longest headshot of 308m sucks.

  • I've been trying to play more recon lately, but my sniping is rubbish. That bullet drop throws me off every time!

  • use the flags an an indicator to how far away they are.

  • Not sure if it's just me (I play on xbox) but I've never come across lens glare only people who don't turn off their flashlight attachments. Also you should make a note that the farther away you are the terrain stops loading so if you are on the mountain on that map no matter which part you're on anyone far enough away will see you as clear as day since you seem like you're floating above the ground. Nice vid all around but to be honest man camo doesn't make that big of a difference.

  • @wowforthehorde Well the scope glare should be visible on XboX anyways. And that terrain problem you talk about I haven't noticed on PC at all. It is worth noticing that when you crawl to the tip of of objects, mountains or whatever... this could cause that effect on someone with low graphics set, or.... an Xbox360 :p

  • @Arne882k cool vid man. srsly :) and by the way: while playing BF3 on Xbox I saw the lens glare (second later i was dead, true story) and didn't see any problems with the terrain soooo... graphics on Xbox is fine :P Maybe EA fixed the problem with a new patch/fix which is downloadable :) (info @wowforthehorde)

  • @Arne882k

C4 seems like something engineer should have in place of his launcher, but claymores? Recon needs those, and I also agree that some sniper rifles should get a buff, I find it hard to imagine someone shrugging off a .338 magnum round, that's what the M98B uses, right?

  • @baron8107 I think the rifles are fine, the 1hk made it all very easy. C4... maybe. Mortar strike and/or claymores, definitely. This is what recon soldiers use. Or some kind of Multi Purpos binoculars

  • @Arne882k

Maybe they could place a larger multiplier on the upper torso at the least?

  • @Arne882k

And I agree with you on binoculars, what if they acted as a rangefinder in-game? Would that be useful in anyway, or would it be a dumb idea?

  • @Arne882k Well i watch a all of your clips regarding aiming but didnt find any tips regarding range shooting( i mean over a 800 meter) In closer distance i do no have any issue but at so called extreme long range(which should be un correct. The Optick Ground Zero(I.e the Central crossing dot) should be a 900 meters usually.so in this context extreme long range should be mean over 2300/3000 meter.)Maybe my issue is that i try to define the distance base on the scope sights.A tips appreciated

  • @wowforthehorde its like a flashlight glare

  • @wowforthehorde idk but on ps3 i have no probleme with terrain only when im in a jet or helicopter bc it makes a slightly different look and i see lens glares all the time and i am recon class almost everytime bc of the noobs who try to snip and fail were as the onlything that got me killed was sitting on the top of the hill

  • @wowforthehorde It is visible on xbox. Also, you do not stand out. Hell, sometimes people disappear completely because of graphic glitches at far distances. You can only see the incoming bullet. This doesn't always happen though. Only on certain places on different large scale maps.

  • @wowforthehorde It's because the game has poor draw distance because it's on a not as powerful video game system instead of a PC. Draw distance is when you look out the terrain doesn't draw itself into existence yet so either it doesn't fill in and u get the floating dude or it looks like grainy shit.

  • @wowforthehorde You're right, camo doesn't make that BIG of a difference, but every little advantage you have means more points, more survivability, and sets you apart as a great sniper, as compared to the many average ones out there.

  • Awesome tutorial man :)

    I'd give 5/5 stars if I could

  • Distance is BF3 is in Yards not Metres mate. =D

  • @blindingsun The units of distance in BF3 is meters hence the m.

  • holy crap another guy other than me using army tactics in a war game?! what are the odds of that?! damn good video

  • Wow u was in the army bro? Nice

  • wat map is this?

  • hey bro 2:14 awesome shot ur a BOSS SON !!!!!!!!!!

  • Jeger?

  • What army did you serve in?

  • I love sniping they never know what hits them. thanks for the extra tips.

  • @K1ngTEDDY26 I agree, there are more tips in my channel btw. Thanks for watching!

  • @K1ngTEDDY26 until the kill cam happens...

  • Very nice video. :)

I just began as a Recon, and I play BF3 on the Xbox 360, but I'm pretty sure it's the same.

  • When dou unlock this sniper?

  • Longest Headshot on BF3 that I got was 973m

  • what gun is this and when is it unlocked?

  • @airsoftguyfortyone That is the M98B and is unlocked after 146k Recon points. Its best for long range sniping. For anything else, use the L96. Feel free to check out my video where I talk about the subject

  • @Arne882k could you tell me how to unlock the L69?

  • @GiveMeABloodyUser 20 kills with Sniper Rifles, 5 Laser Designations doing that unlocks the first weapon, then do 50 Headshots, 50 Spot Assists ( use the MAV), 5 Knife takedowns. Then you get the L96

  • @GiveMeABloodyUser nice one thanks

  • Wow thanks man this helped a lot!

    I dropped you a like ;-)

  • @LilLefty27 Great man! thanks! Feel free to check out my channel for more recon videos ;)

  • Comment removed

  • why didn't he just press the suicide button

  • i thought the lens glare was always active, not just when you're zoomed in? i've been switching to my pistol whenever im not actually aiming at something

  • @Tohob Yup your right, this video is a bit old now and I havent updated the description. I'll put it in there.

  • Yep already new those tips.

  • Tehran Highway is usually COVERED with snipers. Most in the US Deployment,on the edge of the hill.

  • i have a good tip for hiding: dont get seen
