@MrCorvair63 hey, im glad you mentioned that. i lived in that area for the first 13 years of my life, and i have never known why that place is abandoned, could you help me out please??
To give you a sense of how much time has passed since this was made,
The little boys in the very beginning saying "This is going to be fun!" are my brothers. The older one on the left will be going into his sophomore year at college in August, the younger one on the right will be a senior in high school in September. Weird...
Thank you so much for this! I used to LOVE this! My uncle burned me a DVD of it and I still have it but it got scratched. But I used to know every word to this thing. Thank you! :)
I like how the kid thinks Mean Streak is fun. In the very next clip, you can see the cars shaking and rattling on the track as they go down the drop. I hope that ride burns.
Rick Sebak is, indeed, the iconic creator of scrapbook documentaries. Formats withstanding, perhaps Charles Kuralt was more famous due to capital circulation.
My two Sebak favorites are: The Strip Show and Pennsylvania Diners. His narration is slightly more relaxed with perfect tonal pitch than in this documentary.
Rick Sebak is a true Pennsylvania legend!! Thank you for all you've done for public broadcasting, Sir.
@wille35 God no. Rick Sebak is the ultimate documentarian of stuff like this. He invented these types of documentaries a couple decades ago and everyone copied him. :)
Really thats my favorite ride!! but i live in TN and we went 2 new york and on our way back we went by lake compounce and we decided 2 go :) PS:it wasn't really planned

I love this guy's documentaries. They focus on the everyday, mundane. SOmething overlooked elsewhere.
