Becouse Kurt Nilsen had won and not Kelly Clarkson or Will Young (which was expected), which led to america and GB having no profit from the show. And therefore it was canceled.
I really think Kurt deserved to win and I would LOVE to see world idol again.
@CarsonBeckettFan I don't think that's the reason....the whole supposed point of this show is to find good singers as well as be a competition...World Idol just found a winner from amongst the other winners who are already meant to be good if they won their own version, and so it was purely a competition. Hence there's no point in it.

i remember watching this!! this was the first time i actually heard of them (not from uk), and the next big show where i heard of them was britian's got talent, and i've been a fan ever since!

on the original broadcast, in Australia, we had the same UK hosts and that suicide hotline thing on the bottom of the screen as well.
Imagine sad people dialing that number, getting a "your call could not be connected" lady talking and then promptly shooting their brains out.

They also did World Idol in the UK. In Germany we had our hosts, which is a shame, then Ant & Dec are great.
