My question is do you think these little trucks could handle the 6.1L Hemi? I was wondering b/c I was thinking of doing the swap but havent found anyone who has so no clue if it will work. Any help would be nice, b/c I was thinking a Hemi TT would be nice.
@adamslurch71 Any thing will work and anything will fit, it depends on your fab skills and the money you can invest.. nice ride buddy, she sounds good and mean haha. I'll have post a vid when i get mine done
how did you tune this? a custom tune. i have a vortec blown 360 on my ram and am wondering where your located so i can possibly have you tune my truck
That's a very impressive truck, sounds MEAN... Though I would have to wonder if the dyno operators tied the truck down rather loose for effect??? My truck didn't jump that bad when it laid down 422/903 on the dyno and the VGT really makes the normally lazy diesel pretty responsive...
if i recall correctly you will need the flexplate from the 5.9... but i am a jeep owner so i am not 100% sure about the dodge 5 speed trannny. i am speakinng with regards to the 44re auto tranny assuming the way it mounts/mates is quite similar.
having the 46re would benefit you more because its a much stronger tranny than those mated with the 5.2.. but a 5.2 tranny will bolt up
@BeboAltizer Just did it you have to find a 94-95 ram 2 wheel drive 5.9L 5 speed fly wheel or order one on line. Use the 5.9 harmonic balancer with the 5.9L flywheel otherwise horrid vibrations due to the 5.2 being an internaly balanced motor, where as the 5.9 is externally balanced. Option 2 is having the 5.9 torn down and balanced by a good machine shop upon rebuild. Then you may use the 5.2 FW and HB.
i am a jeep grand cheroke 5.2 owner but i can still shed some light for ya here: -5.2L mopar performance ECU -full 3" exhaust -headers -intake that right there will give you a good start. if you wanna go more hardcore then: -either m1 intake manifold or mod the stock intake -52mm throttle body -cam, lifters, etc -ignition upgrades -supercharger -injectors etc... keep in mind that is all just engine work right there. you can also put more power to the wheels by going with a lower gear ratio.
Just signed in now. Sorry for the delay. The 672HP motor in the video is a stock block. Doing twin T's as I write this. Shop doing this work is SD Concepts Engineering. BEST......
gotta love speed shops/dyno shops with out-the-wall exhausts. I heard one about a half mile away and stood not too far from it... just listening. It sounded really deep and 'gargly', def. a big big block, like one used in a Cigarette boat or something.
I have a 2003 Dakota R/T with a 408 stroker and a Novi 1000 Paxton Supercharger. Its at the shop. Do you have any info to what kind of tune maping its needs for this set up.
Ive got 92 dakota that I have just dropped a 5.9 in. I am running the mopar p5007381 intake manifold with a 700cfm double pumper carb. any info you could give me on cams/heads compression ratios and ignition setups would be greatly appreciated. Youve built a bad ass dakota.
No. I've heard people go on about cold air being sucked into the header, when you shut the engine off, and warping valves. But thats gotta be B.S. By the time the air travels through the collector and up the primaries, its not gonna be cold anymore. And this is assuming there is enough vacuum to suck air up the header in the first place. I had a 289 that I ran with open headers for some time, and when I finally got exhaust on it, it continued to run flawlessly.
The exhaust is custom 3" dual with an "X" pipe and Spin Tech mufflers. The gas tank was relocated to the bed so we'd have the room for true dual exhaust.

Euro tail lights, big spoiler, R-Type stickers, Tornado intake, new air in your tires.
That's good for an extra 300 Hp.
