  • Jeez where can I get a Beautiful yard like that? you are very lucky that is my ideal house :)

    Customer Reviews:

I currently own a 5D Mark II and was looking to replace my Canon S80 which is now 6 yrs old. While I love the S80 and the quality pics it captured, the bulkiness of this point-and-shoot (P&S) became inconvenient. My wife was adamant she wanted a more compact P&S this time around. In addition to great pics, I was looking for a P&S with ...

  • Hey I recently got the Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS, what would you say are the best settings for recording a video? And do you think it's a good enough camera to shoot little short movies/films? Thanks & awesome comparison video you got!! =)

  • Much better quality than paying 400 dollars for a Panasonic HDC-SD600K. The Canon Pwershot Elph HS 500 has an even better HD quality than this one.

  • does this camera take good pictures

  • @alangley1999 of course it does. If the video is good, than the pictures must be great since this camera was especially built for photos

  • The Panasonic looks just a bit better but not enough to warrant the price difference.

  • wow, great job bro. You made a great vid that is very useful to alot of us. Thanks so much man.

  • This is a great side by side comparison. The shots with with the sun in frame show that the canon is a bit soft compared to the panasonic, probably due to lens coating. But on ebay the elph 300 is about $150 vs $500 for the panasonic. Thanks for posting.

  • This vid inspired me to do a Toyota corolla vs chevy camaro comparison. Jk thx bro

  • IT'S DIFFERENT CLASS LOL!!

    COMPARE FOR THE SAME CLASS!!

  • the first :44 seconds of this video, I can tell a major difference in color quality..

  • Panasonic HDC-SD600K

  • The Panasonic is better in low light

  • The Panasonic rocks! Totally know what I'm asking for my b-day gift in Nov.

  • I Like Kodak

  • The Panasonic performs better in every way. Its low-light is more detailed, blacks don't seem to bottom out as much as the Cannon's, it's auto-focus for video is much much better (obviously), not to mention the audio quality which is worlds apart from the Cannon's underwater microphone!

I thought they where similar priced cameras though, so for double the price you don't get double the quality, although the Panasonic is certainly the clear winner.

  • im a freak for flares, and i like panasonics better xD

  • The Panasonic had better audio out of the two. The Canon had some OK visuals. I prefer the Panasonic HDC-SD600K.

  • loving the panosonic, but i actually like the canon as well lol

  • I prefair the Panasonic and it has way better sound than the Canon! The Canon is muffled.

  • The Panasonic HDC-SD600K IS WIN... more nature and human ....

  • The Panasonic is more natural in colors and has very fast auto focus. It is also exemplary in low light thanks to the bigger sensor than the PowerShot. The PowerShot, on the other hand, is more vibrant but it is slow to focus and has muddled audio. Panasonic wins.

  • Stunning quality!

  • Hey David, I just got my PowerShot yesterday. I'm still learning how to use the camera, but I wanted to know what camera mode you usually record your 1080p videos on. So far I've tried Program mode and Portrait mode. Which quality mode do you find the best for typical vlog videos?

  • @Macintosh247 For 1080p video I usually just go with auto. It seems to work best so far.

  • @thecreativeone Ok, thanks for the quick response!

  • Tour the backyard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Canon has the best optics out there ;)

  • i love my kureg too :D

  • Seems like the Cannon is better when it comes to a very brightly lit set, like the first clip. However, when you look at when the sun started setting, the Panasonic was clearly better. Overall the Panasonic would be better because of the versatility.

  • Beautiful house! :D Are you guys gonna be affected by the hurricane?:O

  • Make every shot, a power shot.

  • if you took the audio quality from the panasonic, and the video quality from the canon and put them together, itd be perfect!

  • canon for video panansonic for sound

  • Panasonic HDC-SD600K wins everytime, and my god your hair grows back quick!!!

  • Hey David! I featured you on my channel because I really like your videos! Click my name to check it out! Thanks!

  • I'd be able to make a better judgement on quality if it was just a simple cut and not a fade to black.

  • cannon is better

  • they take picture too?

  • Canon is so much better. Can't believe the panasonic costs nearly twice as much, the only advantage I could tell was the panasonic seemed to have better auto focus

  • @IIXRATEDIIHiTMAN To be fair, they're very different cameras. Technically speaking, the Panasonic is the way to go. Canon's video functionalities are purely bonuses, when it's really meant for photography. Still though, both cameras are GREAT for their prices.

  • @thecreativeone they are different cameras, but it looks like the canon's sensor unsurprisingly, even for a camera not made to do video, like the DSLR's, creates better video. The colors are much more vivid and the field of view is wider, it looks sharper (to me at least) and just better looking. Although, the audio is tremendously better on the Panasonic clearly.

  • @actingzach Very true. The pros and cons of both cameras seem to be pretty balanced.

  • @IIXRATEDIIHiTMAN The Panasonic is a better video camera. Vibrant colors is not realistic.

  • I prefer my Nikon D7000 :)

  • i like the panasonic more but the panasonic is to expensive

  • Panasonic.

  • panasonics better

  • I would have to say Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS it really handled the sun well. Also, side note the Panasonic focused faster but i would but the Canon PowerShot.

  • Both are very good camera...but for the price standpoint...i'd go with the Canon....its also very small size too...

  • I personally like the Panasonic, the auto focus is much more detailed then the Canon, even if the canon has better video colors, you can very carefully alter a lot of colors in FCPX. You can make it look amazing with the color effects you can do. But I hate the audio quality on the Canon, the Panasonic's audio quality is far better. But great video!

  • Wthhh your backyard is freaking HUGE omg wow. now i see the advantage of living in the countryside..my backyard is probably 1/10 of that. Can you PLEASE tour the backyard before summer is over? Please man.. lol.

  • Well, the panasonic is obviously much better, it's up to the consumer to decide if they want the 400-500 panasonic or the 250 canon. I'm gonna buy the canon tomorrow at my local Costco, since I don't want to spend a lot of money on a camera that I may not use. It will really depend on how successful I become with making videos for YouTube. The current videos which I have made are alright at best, but I'm focusing on making future videos more professional.

  • loving the flow of vids :D

  • the canon is great for on-the-go things. and REALLY great for like concerts and stuff like that. Easy to get through "no camera" security and very small and compact and not very noticeable.

  • Mr @thecreativeone ur vids are awesome

  • and the canon is so compact and small and gives u DSLR quality

  • the panasonic has an amazing focus time but i like the canon because on the lens u dont have to keep your arm so far away and its still close cuz of the wide angelness

  • panasonic looks better

  • overall the canon has better image quality but the panasonic has better audio and it focuses alot quicker

  • @ThatAccount100 i take that back canon has better audio

  • Comment removed

  • Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS .. Defo!

  • I'm sorry but you can't compare a Point & Shoot to a Camcorder..

  • Panasonic's auto focus is faster! But otherwise, I think the 300HS takes the cake. More accurate, bright colors on the Canon and a more sensitive microphone.

  • The canon has higher contrast it seems but has very bad problems with picking up wind... The panasonic seems to have beaten the canon except for contrast and true colors...neat vid David+ did u film both at the same time or film after one another

  • seems the panasonic has a star filter (the shots with the sun)

  • The cannon is nice, just seems like it needed a stronger cpu and you also looked better.

  • most of the reason i think people prefer the canon is cos of the wide angle lens, the panasonic has a lot better dynamic range, which imho is more important, also snappier AF, still doesn't hold a candle to a canon DSLR.

  • Auto focus is always a problem when it comes to point & shoot cameras ..

  • Panasonic is much better in my opinion. Its a lot more sharp and has better audio.

  • Its amazing how much better the canon looks.

  • Panasonic focuses much better

  • The Panasonic HDC-SD600K Sounds butter

  • Canon for video panasonic for audio..

  • So what are you own conclusions? The Panasonic sure does focus faster. But considering the price difference, the Canon does a good job.

  • Thanks for these videos David. Got my Powershot today!

  • Well for the price of the Cannon, it's totally worth it.

  • Panasonic hands down. how is the image stabilization though?

  • and for the price point i think 200-250 vs 400-500 I think the Canon does just fine.

  • For me the Canon has more color much more vibrant but its slow to focus vs the Panasonic which focus pretty fast, as for audio Canon was better on my speaker I could actually hear your voice through both my speakers where as the Panasonic it sound mono tone.

  • With a bit of color correction you would barley be able to tell the difference in the video. I gotta say I like the color from the Canon but the auto-focus is pretty slow. Maybe after the iPhone 5 comes out and I regenerate some of my money I'll pick one up (or maybe the iPhone 5 will have 1080p video at decent quality and I won't need to =P)

  • The Panasonic looks better and focuses better. The Canon Powershot looks great, but doesn't look as sharp and focuses a lit slower than the Panasonic.

  • Yeah the Panasonic's auto focus is amazing! And is great in low light!

  • the panasonic looks good in low light

  • wow the panasonic's focus is so snappy

  • panasonic

  • Panasonic seems a lot more washed out.

  • I'd say the panasonic has good focus and good audio, but Canon does better on color.

  • A camera vs a camcorder?

  • Great cam for 200 bucks

  • Audio wise, the Panasonic wins. But the Canon is so rich in color compared to the Panasonic. I think audio doesn't matter visuals is obviously important as you can change/edit audio later in production.

  • The canon's contrast is much better.

  • The canon seems more vibrant and the panasonic is more detailed

  • do you usually do colour correction on your videos?

    quality: canon

    color: panasonic

    close up: panasonic

    audio: panasonic

    portability/price: canon (obviously)

    lens: panasonic.

speaking of the lens, i love the way how the light glares on the panasonics lens more than the canons. the first shot with the backyard looked beautiful on the canon but the wind was annoying. over all i think the panasonic is a better camera, but the colours are a bit dull.

  • Panasonic for the win

  • Panasonic def has better contrast.

  • Panasonic

  • i think i'd have to go with the cannon, only because it's more affordable, and still pretty nice quality.

  • Nice amera David I preferre the panasonic in terms of video quality in you videos

  • you should do a split screen comparison, would be much clearer to see the differences.

  • The color on Canon is better, the audio of the Panasonic is much better! The best camera is the Panasonic!

  • Comment removed

  • The audio is def. better on the Panasonic!

  • Thumps Up Panasonic

  • :)

  • love the lensflares on the panasonic :)

  • @thecreativeone did you take this today it seems that the wind is all ready kicking up....

  • @GodfatherGaming1 These clips were recorded a few days ago.

  • Panasonic

  • plz thumps up this

  • Canon has a more Cinematic look, with WAY better colors, but the audio is pretty much trash, and all muddy.

The Panasonic has great auto focus, but has pretty bad aliasing and a REALLY bad lens flare problem.

Id have to go with the Canon, costing half as much.

  • it seems that the colors on the Canon are amazing... however the last 2 shots the one from the stairs and the one from the sunset the Panasonic is much better.

  • Panasonic.

  • Comment removed

  • @alex3669 I agree. They're VERY vibrant.

  • i prefer the canon, because it is super wide angle, more compact, and the prices.

  • Quality looks the same to me 240p right?

  • I like the colours more on the cannon, but the focus point on the Panny is amazing, also audio seems more sensitive on the panny

  • nice vid david

  • i like the canon better because of the compactness and brighter sound

  • Awesome video David! I really still prefer your Panasonic HD-SD600K. I don't know why, but I just feel that a pocket sized camcorder can't be considered professional. :P

  • Canon ELPH-300 because of the slim design the super slow mo option and the great picture quality.

  • Finally! ^^

  • Thumbs up if you're one of the view who saw this in 240p

  • @TheCoolCarmen You can watch it in 480p!

  • @icekid760 AFTER IT PROCESSES.

  • Which do you prefer? And why?

  • @thecreativeone that kona blend came with your k-cup machine rite

  • @xboxtriggerfingerman I'm not sure if it came with it, but we buy that blend now and then.

  • @thecreativeone the kona is too strong for me i prefer the breakfast blend when i wake up

  • @xboxtriggerfingerman Yeah, Kona is a little strong. It's all we had left over. But I agree, the breakfast blend is great.

  • @thecreativeone your the best on youtube im nicks8 that was watching u live the other day when kyle shaved ur head

  • @xboxtriggerfingerman Thank you!

  • @thecreativeone but do you remember me?

  • @thecreativeone canon has more contrast, and better video quality, where the panasonic is almost the same, but has improved audio
