The movie slightly differs from the game (from what i've seen from trailers, never played it) but it is a very good movie.. it's animated. but yeah, i agree that it should be a live action movie. that would be the most epic movie ever.

You are right, but this is a REMAKE, a "modern version" as the directors say. Dante Alighieri was a simple poet, weak and defenseless, as you said, but the wrote one of the most detailed books about the afterlife, wich made the directors and creator of the game read it and took the decision to make it.
