  • Nothing comes close to the beautiful sound of the piano that Lestat plays on...

  • Thanks!

  • This is heaven, oh my god (i´m atheist but this is a song), this is paradise...

  • I come back to listen to this, on numerous videos, every few months or so. I like it this tempo, or even slower. It's lurrvely

  • This is cool, Lestat makes Bill and Eric look like Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb or some shit

  • if ur curious for free mp3s from vids off here type in google video 2 mp3 all one word and it works because i have just done it with the slower one off the movie and other vids on youtube but i love these piece i listen to it driving along in my car i find it relacing

  • dear GOD i wish there was a guitar tab for this..

  • I believe that this is actually Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata with inverted chords. Definitely the same framework of chords.

  • Thank you very much for your generosity to sharing this .MP3.

  • were can i get the music sheets?

  • outstanding *standing ovation* this piece is breath taking and immortally beautiful thankyou so much

  • why does youtube have no repeat button?

    i love Haydn.

  • @devey28 there's always youtube repeat, the site.

just write repeat after youtube, before the dot com :)

  • senqyu,veri mach for mp3!!!

  • SENQYU!!!FERI MACH!!!!!

  • effing love this

  • IMO Joseph Haydn was slightly ahead of his time. For a person born in 1732, his music seemed more 19th than 18th century. I can also hear the influence he had on his former pupil Beethoven. IMO Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" seems at least in part to have been influenced by this piece. But that's just what I hear anyway, & others may disagree.

  • this is soo good!! :) x i just love this song x

  • Bellisima,exquizita.

  • What a moving song.

  • I've reuploaded the mp3 so check the video description for the link...

And this is actually NOT the variation lestat is playing in the movie...check 'melodysknight' version (should be in the similar-videos-box) for lestat's variation :)

  • @Delidor4694 i know, same!!!

  • @Delidor4694 I have the sheet music. message me.

  • This is so good, I've been looking for the 'movie version' for ageees :D It's perfect!

The link for an mp3 on the sidebar won't work, it says that the file is ivalid/deleted :(

  • it's unbareable that this song is only 1 minute long, I could listen to a 8 minute version of it easily. :D

  • The sheets are for the whole thing, not only the part I played. And thanks :D

  • Ohh, okay XD and um, the mp3...i was gnna download it, but was it removed? O.o

  • This is an ALMOST perfect variation. A tad too fast alas(and a mistake at 0:51, but well, it's okay I suppose :) ) Though it's the better version I could find on youtube until now. Thanks a lot for adding Mp3 and sheet music !

  • I am glad to find this, at last! but I have a question: do you know what piece of music is playing in the next scene when the coffins are taken out? I think it is a piece from Handel ...

  • excellent quality

  • Where might I be able to buy the sheet music for this?

  • Well, either you click on "more info" on the right side of the video and download a free version (the one I used) or you buy it at your local music store (or order it online)

  • Thanks

  • @sprotte thank you

  • @evilblondgoth message me and I'll send you the sheet music.

  • @evilblondgoth I have the sheet music. message me.

  • It's quite good, but it's a bit fast. It's supposed to be adagio. :)

  • and ''cantabile'' ! ( singable)

  • ☆☆☆☆☆ for you.

  • Thank you!!

  • IMHO the best version on youtube 5*

  • Thanks a lot, but have you checked out "melodysknight" 's version yet? ^^

  • I loved this piece as soon as I heard Lestat play it...

  • can someone possibly send me this for like an ipod download? Please

  • Awesome, could you possibly re up the mp3 the link doesn't seem to be working :(

  • Hm, the link works...maybe the site was down for a while but it's still there ^^

  • Wow...this is amazing...:)...Dose anyone Know where i Can learn this?

  • try it on the piano :)

  • WONDERFUL work! I can hear the feeling coming through the computer's speakers. ;) Forgive me for asking, though, at the risk of sounding repetetive. The SHEET MUSIC you provided...? Is it the original version by Haydn, or Lestat's variation from the film?

    Thank you so much!

  • It's the original Haydn-version :)

    And thanks ^^

  • I absolutely love this song, when lestat is playing this piece it's so ominous and fast paced.

  • I Really love this piece

ive liked it since i was like 6 or 7 when i heard it interview with the vampire lol

  • I fell in love with this piece as soon as I heard Lestat playing it in the move: Interview with the Vampire.

  • congratulations for the good playing ! i have a question. i would like to buy a stage piano and i am between roland juno stage piano, kurzweil sp2x and yamaha p140. what is your opinon ? is yamaha p140 easy to use ? how is the quality of the piano sound and keys feeling ?

  • Well, I've directly connected it to the computer for recording so you know the sound ^^. The speakers it has aren't the best (but you can use external ones ofc) but I'm fine with the rest. I don't know the other pianos you mentioned but I guess it would be the best to try them out at a local store ;)

  • Aww does the link for the sheet music not work anymore? =[ The mp3 works for me but I think the file might be too old on the sheet music =[

It sounds absolutely wonderful by the way!

  • love this one

  • where can i get this music?

  • There's a link to the sheet music (and now mp3) on the right side when you click on "more info" ;)

  • hi there, i am wondering where i can find a mp3 version of excatly this version of the song - could you please help me out, because a friend of mine would kill to get this song... thanks in advance

  • click on "more information" on the right side of the video

  • Wow this is great the best one i have herd when you have time can you send it to me? Thank you!!!

  • i song is amazing ! o.o !

  • Wonderful!

  • Is this variationa vailable for download anywhere? I actually prefer it to the original ^^

  • Excellent sound and quality

  • fucking beautiful

  • *smiles darky*

  • i love this

  • anyone know where i could dl this

  • I've sent you a message ;)

  • Send me a message :D

  • how am i gonna be able to enjoy this, knowing it just lasts 60 seconds? not fair!

  • This is not the full score. This is a small portion of the piece and the way it's being ended is not quite the way the classical piece actually ends. You can find the entire piece on the "classical midi archives" and hear it in midi or regular.

  • You can find the sheets for the full version in the video description. The title should imply that I only play the part which was also played in the movie (and yes, a variation of it is played in the movie but I stuck to the original [part]). Regarding the end, I just played something which came to my mind ;D

  • Hi, I can't find the sheets, but I know where to find the full piece on a classical site. You played this beautifully - and the originally classical piece IS fast. The only sheets I found were transcribed in the key of A minor - which makes it really awkward to play, plus something's missing. ugh.

  • When you click on "more info" on the right side of the video (under my pic), then there's a link to the sheets

  • O.O Thank you SO MUCH! I looked everywhere for it, and it doesn't help that I'm not so good wih computers... But again, thank you so very much!

  • Do dee doo, my eyesight and all that. I found the sheet music - THANKS. For anyone that wants to know, Lestat starts on page 4, about 4 staffs down. For Lestat, the player has to put on another ending and not continue as the piece is actually written by Haydn.

  • Correction, page 2.

  • the slowed down version in Interview with THe Vampire is much better in my opinion

  • this song is awesome.. Does anyone know where I can get the music sheet?

  • read the videodescription on the right side for the sheets...

  • Awesome... But, I don't like the ending... its very happy for that piece.

  • I love it. It´s brilliant!!!

  • Thanks for the music. Now is this the full score, or just what can be heard on the youtube video?

  • It should be the full one

  • yeeeeeah.....YAH. Pleasant, very pleasant.

  • i like 0:30 to 0:50

  • I'm searching for sheet music! Where is video description?

    By the way, excellent playing!

  • thanks. And you have to click on "more info" on the right side of the video

  • Full of emotion and passion. Brilliant.

  • so intense

  • fabulous

  • i want slow like in the movie interview with the vampire.

  • Hanyuu~ I want t learn this song so bad T~T

    It soo pretty

  • so why dont you learn it? its pretty simple

  • Can you lend me a piano then ? * looks at you all hopeful*

  • thanks but it is Haydn and not Beethoven's moonlightsonata ^^

  • love it!

  • you could always convert it from youtube into an mp3 file. my friend done that beforle it worked perfectly =]

  • r u sure its no. 59 because i tried ordering it as sheet music and they said they've never heard of it?

  • uhm well yes I'm quite sure

try google...and also here on youtube watch?v=Vkse1g9ibnM

You can also find the sheet music in the video description btw

  • Haydn didn't write 59 Sonatas. And HOB 59 is one in E major - no one seems to know what this is.

  • It is HOB 16/49, not Hob 59. And HOB 16/49 is in E-flat major. Maybe the no 59 thing is wrong but i think HOB 16/49 is certainly right xD

  • Is there any possible way you could send me this mp3, i've been trying so hard to find it on the internet but no luck. it would mean alot if you would. thank you so much

    shayne.bofinger@gmail . com

  • uhm, do you mean my version or the original? Cause I don't have the original as mp3 either ^^

  • uuuhhhh idk? srry, do u know what I could tell the company for them to find the music from the movie?

  • Music from the movie? Well, maybe "Interview with the Vampire - original Soundtrack". If you mean the sheet music for this then look it up in my video description or tell your company that you want sheet music for Haydn's "Piano Sonata No. 59" (or type that one in google...)

  • or try it with Hob. XVI 49 II

  • either.. your version preferably. could u send it?

  • its alot slower in the movie though is this a different movment?

  • Well, it's the part which is played in the movie but Lestat plays a variation of it.

  • oh okay wel anyway good job! :)

  • do u hav the sheet music for this

if so can i hav it

    :>

  • I've already written it in the video description :>

  • Do you still have this on your computer and would you be willing to send this to me? *hopeful* I just love this part of the piece...

  • ofc, I'll send you a message ^^

  • usually i don't like this when people play it too fast, but you made it great!! superb!

  • you are brilliant... i hope to be as talented as you someday =)

  • Agh, thank you so much for the sheet music.

  • The most reconizable sonata from the entire movie. I'm watching Interview with the vampire right now. It was played during the scene where Lestat and Claudia are entertaining a family and lestat asks Claudia to play "something on a more sombre note". It cuts scene and the familys coffins are being carried out into hearsts.

  • the song itself is not this long is it?

Ive been looking to download this song, but i cant seem to find it, how long is the original?

  • The original is much longer. I think this part which is played in the movie (well, a variation of it) is somewhere in the middle of it. You can look up the exact title of the whole thing in the videodescription (hope I got it right ^^) ;)

  • I play this piece and it takes me about 8/9 minutes.

  • puts shivers down my spine when the bass chord comes in, so powerful when played at this speed!

  • I prefer this version, it sounds much more cryptic than the slower.

  • I listened it like 20 times in a row now Sprotte you are really a genius, i gotta say that. What do you think of doing a longer version ? YOu start slow and get faster. Make it up to 3 minutes. that would be awesome i tell ya ! Thanks in advance !

  • I Don't think I will record it again (in the near future at least ;p) but thanks ^^

  • Sprotte you can not imagine what you just caused. My hairs on arm stood up, i couldnt breath and i was deep- fascinated. You played eXXXXXcellently. Keep playing piano, you got the perfect feeling for it.

  • Oh! I really like the sound of this song! you're playing is brilliant! your piano sounds fantastic too! i'm looking at buying a new piano, what is your experience with this one?

  • thanks ^^

Well, the only point of criticism which comes to my mind is that the speakers of the P-140 could be better which means it sounds better if you use external speakers (computer, HiFi-system or whatever). It's my first stage piano so I can't really compare it to others but from the pianos in my music shop I liked (the sound of) this one the most... ;)

  • well you sound remarkable! and so does this piano sound you're using! thanks for sharing with the world!

  • I can tell you it's not a Steinway. If you're looking to actually invest in something that will last the rest of your life, buy a Steinway. There is no better brand. Any concert hall you go to will have one. The kinds to watch out for are Yamaha (they sound electronic) and Baldwins. Mason and Hamiln's are not so bad though. If Steinway is too expensive, then go with a Mason and Hamlin. Both have a very solid, sweet sound. Again, I don't know what was used in this recording.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH! I've been looking on and off for years for the title/composer of this piece. It took forever even now to research it. Just when I was about to embark on another journey of finding the sheet music... You provided the link!! THANK YOU!

  • This is by far my favorite version I have heard. I like how you used the petal and played it so fast, it's perfect :P

  • Wow! That's fast!

  • Anyone know where you can get sheet music of this?

  • I'll write it in the video description

  • i wish i could play piano just this song would be good enough for me! love it thank you for doing it! cant seem to find it to download it tho

  • I can only offer my version xD

But maybe you can at least find a midi of the original

    Oh and thanks ^^

  • yeah i got the entire thing now m8 its a long one but get to here it in the middle so its worth it and a nice listen 2

  • uhm, I just play it how I want to so I'm not sure about the way it should be played "officially" ^^. I don't think it should be played staccato and I prefer playing it with sustain (pedal)cause I think it sounds better when the lower (deeper? I don't know the english term :S) notes sound longer (at 0:01, 0:07, 0:13,...).

  • Very nice. Fastest version I've heard. Are you supposed to use sustain in this piece, is it legato or staccato? Please help I'm pretty new. I know the whole piece note wise. It pretty simple and fun to play.

  • ty :D

  • wonderful!
