  • Just asking do we really need cardio to get ripped? Because my stomach is not ripped and I've been workoing out for 1 year and my diet is very clean. I'm getting frustrated by no results of getting muscle definition.

  • @jbarb90 You can do this on the floor and use the frame of a bed or a couch to hold onto

  • hi i tried doin the harder version with ur lower back off the bench as shown in the video but after about ten controlled reps, i feel my back getting more of a workout than my lower abs... am i missing something? :(

  • @ngateng2000 it takes a lot of strength to do these and not stress your back. ONce your abs are fatigued, other muscles will take over to help out. If you can do 10 reps correctly, stop after that and rest for 1 to 2 minutes and then do another set. As you get stronger, you may be able to do more reps.

  • @ngateng2000 I try myself this one, and it hit my abs really strong try concentrate on mind muscle connection here as much possible, I didn't feel any back workout going on btw.

  • Hey Cristy, I have a question? How many of these/reps should I do a day? I just did two reps of 10 and could feel it working, and should I do them slow? Or faster? Lol I'm not sure, so I took my time doing them.

  • Omigosh! I have been trying to figure out how to do reverse crunches for awhile. I've followed the advice of other videos, different sites, etc., and everyone told me to do something different.   • God I am so confused. I have watched 7 differ videos and each one has a differ way of doing reverse crunches! Which one IS the right one?!?

  • @lageasy - That has been my issue, and I've tried all billion ways they've told me to do it. After viewing this video, I tried reverse crunches her way, and I felt it working my lower abs for the first time! So, definitely try it her way, but if you don't feel it like you're supposed to, keep trying different techniques until you do feel it working. It might even be a good idea to buy a session with a personal trainer to figure out what you're doing.

  • Do you have any tips for someone who repeatedly strains their trapezius muscles doing well.. almost nothing!?!? I have had trouble for years and am getting sick of it, Im going to the doc soon. I will pull out my neck doing anything from light bench press to yawning!!! Its horrible! Not normal at all.

  • @ChrisZFit Went to doc today, turns out I have minor scoliosis. I will be starting physical therapy soon to see if it helps any. :(

  • @joeyisfunny I had a client who had MAJOR scoliosis and was able to correct it through stretching and strength training so it can be done!! :) Good luck

  • Damn Chrissy you're one fit gal. How do you loose body fat? I currently do super sets and interval training/sprints.

  • I always thought that the rectus abdominal muscle contracts as a whole unit and that you cant really target "upper" or "lower" parts?

    Also, are you sure you werent referring to your serratus anterior muscles, and not your obliques that help you anchor during this exercise?

  • I didn't have a suitable bench, but with weights in my hands (laying on my back) I managed about 10 the first time. I didn't want to over-do it the first time. My usual routine is 120 bicycle crunches, but this will give me some variety. Thanks!

  • These are the best explanations that I saw on youtube. I want to ask you what is the differences between this exercise and hanging leg raises since both exercises are for development of lower abdominals. Which exercise is better for lower part of rectus abdominus? Thank you!

  • Leg raises are going to target the hip flexors more, so while they are good, this exericse will stress the lower attachment of the abdominals.
