I remember watching this when I was six or seven. (We are talking early 80's) I forgot all about it, until I saw this clip. Such lovely memories. Beautiful! Thanks for posting this clip.
A great opening sketch too genuinely funny and stNds the test of time - fortunately no pink windmill kids on show - could use a bit of crock though , what a lovable rogue he was
@berlin just admit that the gag was funny cos quite frankly your rambles are painfull , and your pitiful attempt at sarcasm was lost after post 1 - keep trying though you may well be funny one day :-)
O Minch so you are also a football fan not without a little knowledge. We are all now fans of your beloved Fulham F.C. I have had heartache O Minch. During our cold German winter my dear husband has lost four toes to frostbite and is experiencing problems staying balanced when he stands up, so keeps falling over. Keep your comments flowing. We await them. LONG LIVE THE MINCH AND FULHAM
We humbly beseech you O Minch to point us in the direction of your witty remarks. We have ordered in the beer and the wine plus the nipples ( peanuts and the chips for the eating ). All is set for our Minchathon. All we need is the knowing where for to look. Long Live The Minch
I would like to let you know that my friends and I and other fans in the Berlin / Leipzig area will be holding a "Minch" party next Saturday night where we will search YOU TUBE for your witty comments and discuss your witty mind. Long Live The Minch
Im sure it was around 1982 just after ATV became Central cos it was filmed at the old ATV/Central studios on Broad Street in Birmingham. The titles look like have been done by the same bloke that did the graphics on both Bullseye and Tiswas.
and even though it is a Central Production first shown in 1982 it was filmed in the middle of 1981 so in some respects the first series of Emus World was really made by ATV before the change to Central.

Rod Hull was a flaming comic genius. I still love to shout out, "I wanna talk to Rod Hull, NOT EMU!", down the phone at no-marks in call centres.

@stuttsy83 All the pink windmill kids must be mid 30's early 40's? A reunion show would be interesting if channel 4 or itv1 made one
