So basically its just to get hd shows on your computer and for recording ? Anything else like getting extra channels? Just seems to expensive to have a device on your pc to just record shows or watch it on your computer . $ 400 =(
@cisco760ca It's $300 until labor day and you can share the tuners through extenders. Happauge has a $130 dual tuner unit that supports cable card. There is also the Silicon Dust HDHomeRun Prime that costs $250 and has 3 tuners. Hope this helps.
So after using this product for a few months now, how are things going? Is the HD quality superior? Do you have no problem managing all your HD content? Are there any simple editing tools to like trim or select edit what you want to keep from the HD content that you record? For example you don't want to keep the whole hour of a show, but just one segment.
@1USKIWI You mean "touch something metal before handling electronics"? Or "don't rub your entire body against shag carpet while handling electronics"? Boy, sounds tough.
The Hauppauge card is now $150, and it's only 2 tuners, but if you can't afford a $400 card, and don't need 4 tuners, then this is the way to go.
